chama gaúcha brazilian steakhouse

top 5 dining experience ever!. go for lunch if you are on a budget. i've been to fogo to chao in philly and satx and chama gaucha blew me away. the flavorful meats quickly tied around my tongue with such amazing delight. i intended not to even visit the salad bar, but i was wowed with the selection available. the cheeses and cold meats at the saladbarwere very impressive and quite tasty when paired appropriately. i was in awe of the meats as they kept coming. the service was the best i've ever experienced. the chocolate mousse was so chocolatey good. the price is a bit high but well worth it.

great for the most part. the service and environment were the best i ever had. the waiters are really adamant when it comes to service. if you like meat you come here. go at lunch for bigger savings if you can. the saladbaris ok compared to the other brazilian steakhouses i have been to.

awesome all around! i try to eat at brazilian steakhouses whenever i get a chance and i have to say this was the best experience my wife and i have ever had not only at a brazilian steakhouse but anywhere. the meats were amazing, had a great foodbarand the service was incredible. the meat was always coming and servers were always stopping by to offer any service. they also serve several sauces with the meal for the meat (not that the meat needed any). i had the chimichuri that was very good. outstanding, i highly recommend for any special occasion.

impressed. i have been to quite a few brazilian steakhouses and this one ranks near the top. the "gauchos" are very friendly, my wife multiple times asked them for a more medium well meat and they went and came back pretty quickly with what she asked for. other places they said they would, but never came back with what was asked for, only more rare to medium beef.

the saladbaris good here, but not as extensive as some others, but still very very good. its almost like comparing a ferrari to a lamborghini.

as far as price, it is expensive so bring your appetite, and if it seems high to you, just come for the lunch, its exactly the same product.

finally, that entryway is very cool/stylish, feels like you are entering a high end boutique restaurant. nice atmosphere all around in the restaurant.

this restaurant has a great parking lot and valet parking if needed, the people who works here as servers and managers are very nice, the saladbarwas fresh and delicious, and the meat selection is the best in flavor, in my opinion the service always is outstanding.

worth every penny, just don't fill up on the saladbarthat was my mistake when i first came here, the first time i visited i thought it was just okay because i didn't get to try enough of the meats and i wasn't wowed and amazed by the salad bar. the second time i went though i listened to the servers advice and went super lite on the saladbarand just had the meat, potatoes, rice and beans.... huge difference! the meat was so flavorful and so tender, loved the ribeye and the bacon wrapped filet. so good!!! the meat is definitely where it's at people! :) went up at the end and grabbed a few things at the saladbarbut from now on definitely keeping the saladbarsuper lite, makes a huge difference! will definitely be back!

this place is a must for any meat lover! the food was outstanding! i could only make it through 9 meats but they were all excellent. the saladbarwas great as well. great presentation and everything was so fresh. the dessert we got were on point as well. i recommend the cheesecake that they light on fire. the service was very good as well. i would come back to this place in a heartbeat.

we just love brazilian bbq and this one was another solid winner. the saladbarwas extensive (which is fairly common) but was lacking any hot food or soups. the meats were perfectly seasoned and often available in both medium and medium-rare, the latter of which helped to make my servings moist and tender just the way i like it. the side dishes include (among other things) an almost addictive doughy roll that falls in the “betcha can’t have just one” category.

what made this place stand out though was the constant level of service from every staff member within line of sight. everyone here is watching the level of your glass of water or whether a particular cut of meat came by when you were in “no thanks” mode. service plus plus!

greatest meat, greatest saladbarand greatest service i have ever experienced. we were sat right before they closed for a few hours before dinner. we ate the finest meat i've ever tasted for two hours and were never once rushed. i didn't taste a single thing that wasn't amazing. from the artisan cheeses to the wedge salad to the freshly sliced ribeye. i can't wait to go back to this place.

my girlfriend and i went here for dinner on a tuesday evening. we had reservations for 5pm which is when they opened. due to traffic, we did not make it there until 530 but were still able to seat us.

the waiter came immediately and we ordered old fasioned drinks. if it is your first time going to chama gaucha i would reccomend sampling everything at the saladbarnot skipping it to save room for the steak.

the service was great and the steak was as expected, phenomenal. our drinks were well made as well.

out of the three brazilian steakhouses in san antonio chama gaucha is the best in my opinion. i will be going back for sure.

bad experience. we went here recently with a party of 8 people. we had reservations which they did not honor and we had to wait. then the service was horrible. had to wait for drinks and waters to be refilled. had to wait for sides. had to ask repeatedly for things. then the waiter had the nerve to say that we should come earlier next time for better service. first of all we arrived early they just refused to seat us. then, since tip/gratuity is already included in that size of party, they could do whatever they wanted and they'd still get the same tip. we were all not happy with our visit this time and will be considering a different option next time.

expensive but decent. we've been to 3 different brazilian steakhouse around the country. this one is the most expensive. we both agreed that the buffet/saladbarneeds labeling. it had a pretty good selection, but not enough items that i particularly cared for. then there is the menu which we never saw so we didn't know what was offered and i had to see that someone else got something and question what it was in order to order it. then there was the sides that came out to the table the bananas tasted like alcohol, not pleasant at all. typically at other brazilian steakhouses they too had the red/green notification to the staff on when/if you want meat etc, but this was ridiculous in that if you had it set to green you weren't given a chance to breathe much less eat anything they would all pounce on your table it seemed at once. i also noticed the staff observing the dining area waiting for the opportunity to pounce on empty tables or diners needing anything it was too much chaos for that expensive and trying to be fancy type of a restaurant i actually noticed a couple of collisions once a staff member actually backed into another who was holding meat and knife, not safe. may be back, but it won't be too soon based on the price and chaos.

live, love this restaurant!. the services,barand food are excellent, every thing is always fresh. valet parking ifs great. wonderful place for special events, holidays, or just two people who want to splurge!

meat expo. wow! quite an experience with friends and or family. great saladbarbut don't eat too much of it... the grilled meat never stops coming to your table. gluttony for sure, you have to roll out of the place!

delicious!. i've only been to 1 other brazilian steakhouse before (not in sa) and it wasn't that great so i wasn't really expecting that much from chama gaucha. i was wrong, though - this place is awesome! the service is amazing - the best service i've experienced in a long, long time . .maybe ever.

the food is delicious, too. the saladbaris full of interesting items - definitely worth a trip even though most will be here for the meat. once you flip your card over, the meat comes fast and furious. just about every cut i tried was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious.

thebaris fantastic, the wine list is just ok. the whole evening was insanely expensive but worth it for a special occasion.

i don't always eat at brazilian steakhouses, but when i do, i prefer chama gaucha.

amazing!. i have never experienced such impeccable service as i did at chama gaucha, and i have dined at many different locations across the globe. the ambiance was lovely, and the second we walked in, i felt that we were honored guests. we had made reservations, and we walked in, they greeted us, asked our names, and immediately took us to our table where two attendants were already there pulling out our chairs. i couldn't even put down my empty glass of water before they were already refilling it. the food was absolutely mouth watering incredible too. it was extremely fresh and often we had to give it a moment to cool down. i've never seen a saladbarwith such fresh produce either. very rarely have i walked away from a meal, completely full, and satisfied, while being in awe of the service and food quality. but i did just that after eating at chama gaucha. it is fairly pricey, but definitely worth it for special occasions. (oh, and when they found out it was our anniversary, they brought out a complimentary beautifully garnished, and delectable cheesecake with happy anniversary written on it in strawberry sauce.) wonderful evening. highly highly reccommend!!!!
