fantastic!. we decided to try chama gaucha for our anniversary, and i'm glad we did. from the time we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome. they seemed to anticipate what we needed even before we mentioned it.
after being seated and having the routine explained to us, we were off to the salad bar -- one of the best we've seen. it was hard to limit ourselves, but we had heard that we would need all the room we could spare for the main course, too.
salads done, we flipped our service cards from red to green, and within seconds, there were no less than six servers at our table to provide a wide variety of beef, pork, chicken and sausage. looking back at the menu this morning, we find that the only two things we didn't have were chicken, pork ribs, or filet mignon. our favorites were the ribeye and the picanha (prime sirloin), but everything else was tied for a close second. the sides of polenta, mashed potatoes and fried bananas rounded out the meal, and the yucca flour rolls may just be our favorite bread in the world now!
we declined dessert, not only because the fried bananas satisfied our sweet tooth, but also because we were completely stuffed!
this is not an everyday place, at least for us, but it will definitely make us look harder to find "special occasions" in life.
our sincere thanks to everyone that made us feel welcom (and full) at chama gaucha.
