came for brunch and had a fantastic experience, service was great with staff explaining each dish and the wait if you ordered the oldskool newskool salmon. the passion that went into each dish was evident and the staff very friendly, giving us freecoffeefor our wait. we really enjoyed our experience and will return to try more dishes.

great tasting hotcoffeeand a treat of french toast at breakfast!
my cup was a little under filled perhaps so it was easy to transport from barista to table.
also the 10%surcharge for a sunday was a first time for me. maybe we will just come on a saturday instead!

dish: not a croque madam - gooey egg goodness, ham and creamy bechamel sauce

cavalier 2.0 is a stand out amongst the sydney breakfast scene. harry the head chef, creates a wonderful space that is very welcoming and comfortable for diners.

all items on the menu are fantastic.coffeeby marvel street is top quality for the black or milk inclined. you’ll be dropping in here multiple times.

went here for brunch late saturday morning, it's a cute little cafe serving food you don't normally expect from a cafe. first up, the positives. i had the oldskool newskool salmon which plated like a fine dining dish and tasted quite fancy for a brunch dish with their beetroot yoghurt and black garlic mayonnaise. with something so pretty, i have nothing to complain about aside possibly wanting more toasts to go with it. unfortunately, there were let downs, the ham benny was way too salty to a point that i can't taste anything but salt, and with that in mind, the price tag on a salty egg benedict that left a bitter after taste does seem steep. having said that, the 2 ladies sitting next to us both had the ham benny and seem to be munching them down ok, so perhaps mine was just an accident. lastly, given the store name had 'coffee' in it, i did expect a good one but thecoffeewas just average and was served luke warm and with too much foam. to end on a positive note though, customer service was excellent. as i had the salmon dish, i would recommend people to try base on that, but other than that i am not too keen to return any time soon personally.

came here on saturday and there were not many people
we ordered cappuccino and hot chocolate. the standard cup size is really small. i finished mycoffeebefore the food came.coffeewas good anyway.
i came here for the tiramisu since not so many cafes have tiramisu on their brunch menus. i was surprised that there was passion fruit in the tiramisu. i felt it ruined the whole dish. why would anyone put passion fruit in tiramisu?? maybe it’s just me but i really don’t like it.
the tradie roll was disappointing so as the labneh spread with rye. i am sure i won’t come back.

as a local, i've been going to cavalier since it opened on oxley street. thecoffeeis great and my favourite is still the chicken salad. what i really enjoyed about the original location is the vibe. it had a very trendy melbournesque feel to the original location. the combination of timber-copper bespoke furnishing, the dim lighting, and hole-in-the-wall atmosphere created the right note of casual chic.

now at its new premise just around the corner, there is still the same good food, greatcoffeeand friendly staff. unfortunately, it has lost somewhat the trendy appeal to the place. what was a hip establishment now feels more like a hip replacement.

i didn't like the generic furnishing and the artificial plants hanging off the exposed air-ducts. it had a 80s aesthetic that was wrong on many levels. the echo-chamber of the premise also made the dining experience feel like a school canteen.. especially with a screaming kid contributing to that authenticity.

cavalier 2.0 is like a windows vista upgrade from xp. everything about the guts of it is the same, yet different. can we quickly move on to move on to windows 10 before the local customers switch to a mac? please please please re-do the interior deco to bring back the vibe that made the original cavalier so great and much loved.

good bu not greatcoffee... asked for large cup and was offered it in a takeaway. no thanks. (and this is meant to be "specialty coffee!!" dark toast came only with some sort of cashew peppery stuff and the cost was ridiculous. no butter on offer. no jam or anything just their special xxx cashew stuff. very nervous over attentive staff who kept asking "is it alright' sorry but cant see this place surviving

it's a small cafe with 5 or 6 four seater tables inside and a couple of outdoor. there is no decoration or a special interior but it has very friendly staff. i like the open chicken salad yummy and healthy but kids don't. the tiramisu french toast is not bad or kind of special.coffeeis fragrant just not hot enough for me. kids finished the ham cheese toast.

we have been fans of the beautifully plated up food and silky smoothcoffeeat cavalier specialtycoffeesince they first opened up about a year ago and became our favourite local with their cosy scandi-chic decor. while their food menu isn’t particularly extensive, everything they bring out is impeccably presented – case in point was their entree special, a chewy italian cheese which had been lightly grilled and came out with a delicate wreath of herbs and sweet cherry tomatoes that gave it just enough of a flavour pop to keep things interesting.

never disappoints. delicious and innovative take on brunch and ever professional and friendly staff. with wine available for an extra special touch, cavalier is a cut above in the café game. the expertly madecoffeewill please all different preferences. standout dishes are the poached chicken open salad, the burrata, the salmon and of course the decadent tiramisu french toast. all the dishes are modified for the seasons keeping the menu fresh and interesting all year round.

i love this little oasis in the middle of a large city for a number of reasons. there is always a welcoming and happy atmosphere, even when they are super busy. thecoffeeis so much more than what you get at other cafes but they also have the regular stuff, which tastes fresh and delicious. my friends and i have indulged in a delicious wine or two which accompany the dishes very well. the food is out this world - creative, fresh and super delicious. the menu changes seasonally so regulars don’t get bored- truffle season is pure delight! i love everything about cavaliers. i have been lucky enough to always find nearby parking. thanks guys, you do a great job!

cavalier is tucked away in a side street near st leonards station.coffeewas alright but had a slightly sour aftertaste which i wasn't a fan of. the plain looking chicken salad was absolutely delectable with well-seasoned poached meat, delicate sprouts and a topping of crushed hazlenuts. it was complemented by a creamy mustard dressing. my friend was very impressed with her tiramisu french toast. i stole a bite and wholeheartedly agreed. the layers of espresso mascarpone, brioche and chocolate powder was decadent, without descending into cloying sweetness. the passionfruit centre provided a tangy counterpoint to the richness of the cheese and brioche. great little spot (not much seating) and i'd recommend it for unique brunch items.
