awesome experience!. i ordered a cake for my us air force retirement. i called the westfield store to schedule an appointment. i spoke with allyson buckley who was very helpful and curteous. when i arrived for my appointment, allyson spoke with me to find out exactly what i wanted. she was very attentive to my request. she was also patient and kept in contact with me after the visit to ensure i was getting everything that i wanted. the cake andcupcakeswere very beautiful and delicious...there wasn't any left over. need i say that everyone enjoyed them! i want to thank allyson and everyone in the westfield store who helped to make my special day wonderful! thank you!

pretty good, but mostly a tourist thing.. i wanted to go there mostly bc me and my son like the show a lot. around 1 pm the line was insane! when we came back at 3:30pm we were able to get in right away. it was a fun experience. we waited about 30 mins to be served, so not too bad. honestly thecupcakesand cookies looked so-so. i went for the hazelnut cream puff, lobster tail and the famous crumb cake i had been dying to try. i've had better lobster tail at the whole foods bakery counter, and the crumb cake was good but not great. but wow, the hazelnut cream puff was really good, and only $2. i bet their cream puff cake would be amazing. (ordering online now.) the prices were pretty good. if you're in hoboken and you like watching cake boss, and the line isn't ridiculously long make sure to stop by, otherwise maybe skip it.

vanilla cupcake with chocolate icing. we were amazed at the short line up on a saturday morning over the christmas holidays, we only waited about 10 minutes to get in. once inside it is very overwhelming with people trying to see items at the counter and order items. it gets crazier when one of the main individuals from the show comes down for a cameo. we ordered four cupcakes, a fruit tart, tiramisu and cannoli. my husband said the fruit tart was the best of the items he ordered. of thecupcakesthe vanilla with chocolate was the best by far. it was great for a tourist stop.

go there if you like the show...otherwise, not really.. i made a trip to nyc to see some friends. i absolutely wanted to go all the way to hoboken for carlo's bakery. the quality was ok. lobster tail was my favorite and the regular cannoli where quite good. crumb cake was very ordinary. the pine nut tartelette was good. thecupcakesand cookies were ok. i did go there fresh off a night bus so the line was small. aside from the show, the food is quite regular and pricey, so i wouldn't go there if i didn't like the show. but if you do go, get a lobster tail.

pleasant visit. we visited on a thursday morning, got there right before it opened at 7am and there was no wait whatsoever. staff was friendly, not overly so but pleasant so no complaints on service at all. i thought the prices were a little steep compared to what i was used to, though probably in line with comparable nyc bakeries, and being somewhat of a tourist attraction probably adds a little to the price as well.. we got cupcakes, cannoli, and lobster tails, all were excellent. the cannoli filling was a little sweeter than traditional cannoli, but i like it that way so i enjoyed it. they fill the cannoli when you order them, so the shells were crisp and delicious.cupcakeswere about as expected, moist and tasty but still just cupcakes. never had lobster tails before, so we didn't have anything to compare them to, but they were quite good, flakey crust and rich filling. all in all we enjoyed our visit, the novelty of being in the famous bakery of the "cake boss" was worth paying a little bit of a premium. get there early and you won't be rushed. i would not hesitate to recommend this experience.

carlo's bakery is very famous. i had to wait two and a half hours just to get in and it was hot. however it was worth the wait. the pastries were delicious especially thecupcakesand lobster tails which were amazing! it was reasonably priced considering how famous it is and the service was great. yes it could use help at the storefront since it was very crowded and clausterphobic but it was well worth the wait and trip up from the jersey shore.

love the show, love the family, love the place, hate the food!. i first visited carlo's 2 years ago and fell in love... delicious pastries, no lines, tables inside to sit at, and very reasonable prices. however, i returned to visit last month, and was absolutely horrified... even though the line down the sidewalk was an hour, and then the wait inside the store was another hour, i would have been able to deal with that if it weren't for the fact that most of the food was disgusting, some was tolerable, and only one item was good. we spent $86 on cream puffs, napoleans, cannolis, a chocolate mousse pastry, cupcakes, a crumb cake, and a cannoli cake. the pastry cream inside the cream puff was hard and rubbery and tasted like fish... completely inedible and went right in the garbage, the cannolis were tolerable, but really had no flavor whatsoever, the napoleans lacked flavor also but faintly tasted like lemon (a traditional napolean should be vanilla), thecupcakeswere average, the crumb cake was very dry, the cannoli cake ($26!!) was flavorless. the only thing that really was good was a very small chocolate mousse pastry. everything else ended up in the garbage. conclusion: overpriced, underflavored, and not worth the wait. what a shame... they used to be awesome! maybe they got too big for their britches! just to add some credibility to this review... i'm a baker living in florida and my family in france were bakery owners for decades... so i think its fair to say i know a thing or two about what good pastry should be like.

good cake. during the holidays i went down to carlo's bakery and spent an hour and a half on line to get two cakes and a couple of platters of cookies and cupcakes. it was well worth the wait! i got a chocolate mocha cake with strawberries that was to die for. i also purchased a birthday cake for one of my relatives that was born on xmas, whipped cream, vanilla cake with strawberries and custard, it was absolutely wonderful and there were cute little rings and so forth tucked into the cake as an added bonus. thecupcakeswere amazing i never saw my cousins eatcupcakesslowly before because they knew there were no second helpings and actually savored them! cookies were delicious. it was kind of on the pricey side for all the treats but i'd spend the money again in a heart beat for those wonderful goodies!
