went there and we were told that food would take abitlonger! fair enough! after two hours! we got food! my 200 g rump steak was a 100 g! my hubby ordered 1/2 chicken and 400g ribs! the ribs were 100g and the chicken was already cut up into pieces! did not look like a half chicken! music was terrible when it played and then no music for rest of day! looked like they were trying to take short cuts and patching together a meal! we were not happy at all and will never go back! every single table was complaining! if you want cope with the amount of people in your store at once then either book in more staff or take out some tables ! we also have a restaurant and the really overpaid for what we got

had the best fresh prawns at a reasonable price. thought i was in mozambique! my husband's ribs were also succulent and perfect the staff was friendly and helpful and brought out 4 different fresh prawns for me to decide on size. sadly the decor is stuck in the eighties, with plastic decor red paper serviettes which i saw many years back. abitof cleaning can be done on the ship's and wall decor. the atmosphere was family friendly, we had a lovely time.

i read complaints about fans not working, but they have an amazing aircon now it's very chilled inside. the service was very fast if not abittoo on the ball. the waitress watched us eating which was abitweird wish she would have stood out of the way. food is very nice and tasty, great starters and good mains. pity they ran out of most puddings but it saved us extra calories. nice wine selection. definitely worth another visit. it is on the pricey side though.

very surprised that this restuarant only has a 3.3 rating, we been here at least 4 times and have never been disappointed with the quality and flavor of the meals. today was equally good, i had the chicken and prawn combo (peri peri) and hubby had the chicken and rib combo. food took abitlong to arrive but it was very busy so that was to be expected. agree with other reviews that the place needs some updating!

love this place.. so relaxed and casual, kids also have fun outside ...
food is above average and whilst south africans may find the service abitslow i would still rate it as good. visit at least 3 times on our annual vacation..

possibly the best espetadas in town. 500g of decadence - with a little reservoir on the top of the "spear" for the melted garlic butter to drizzle down onto the meat. the home-made chilli sauce is not for the faint-hearted. friendly and efficient - right on the main road with ample parking. have been here several times now, and never been disappointed. the decor is abitdated, the table cloths are plastic - but you come here for the food! the wine selection is extensive and good, and the sangria is very tasty. treat yourself if you enjoy portuguese cuisine - this is the spot.

we were staying at a health spa in hartees for a night and did not want to have supper at the spa so decided to go into hartees. must say it was disappointing as most restaurants are closed on a monday in hartees. caravela was one of the places open. i ordered a pina colada cocktail which was sickly sweet and a pre-mixed cocktail out of a box. the waitress was clueless and when i asked why there was no pineapple or cherries as stated on the menu she walked off and then brought back a plate with a few cherries. we ordered a starter garlic snails which was nothing to write home about. for mains we had the 12 peri peri prawns and the peri peri chicken. the prawns were cooked well and had great flavour. the chicken however was abitdry and the peri peri sauce on the side was riddled with vinegar.

good portuguese food and the huge 800grams espetada is a winner, prepared the traditional portuguese way with coarse salt and fresh bay leaves.
bit on the pricey side but after payday should be value for money.
the seafood  and wine selection are excellent.
