had our dads 70th function here with 40 people. was absolutely wonderful from the attention to detail in the setup (so that people can easily socialise) to the food prep time and the service, everything was absolutely taken care of and wonderful! food was very reasonably priced, lots of specials - great prawns!! great portion sizes, excellent taste and pleasant setup.. will be comingbackagain in numbers!!

this was the worst food i ever ate in my life and the worst service ever from a manger. i ordered a platter combo with hake and calamari. after 55 minutes the food arrived. the hake and the calamari was dry and tasteless. i sent it back. when it arrivedbackit was just as bad. what was worse was that the same calamari that i sentbackcamebackagain. they refried the same tought tasteless calamari. they only gave me 4 pieces of calamari with the hake and thought it was fine to charge r138 for this combo. even the side dish of half eaten fried pap came back. they did not even prepare a fresh portion of the side dish. my wife’s chips were not cooked and we sent thatbackas well. it took 15 minutes for them to return that and that was cold on its return. the manager could only say sorry and blame the kitchen. he had the audacity to charge me full price for for my wife’s food although we did not even eat all of it as we sent the chipsbackagain. never again!!!

we were staying at a health spa in hartees for a night and did not want to have supper at the spa so decided to go into hartees. must say it was disappointing as most restaurants are closed on a monday in hartees. caravela was one of the places open. i ordered a pina colada cocktail which was sickly sweet and a pre-mixed cocktail out of a box. the waitress was clueless and when i asked why there was no pineapple or cherries as stated on the menu she walked off and then broughtbacka plate with a few cherries. we ordered a starter garlic snails which was nothing to write home about. for mains we had the 12 peri peri prawns and the peri peri chicken. the prawns were cooked well and had great flavour. the chicken however was a bit dry and the peri peri sauce on the side was riddled with vinegar.

love this place...i will easily drive from pta just to come here. love the vibe...great music...felt like i wasbackin mocambique at a local rest! i had the prawns and chicken...it was so flavourful...and juicy. love love love it!

i am portuguese and i used to love to come here cause the vibe took mebackhome. but now i feel it is a rip off. the prices went up considerably and the doses are getting smaller.
