cafe haven

i have been dining in and taking out from cafehavenover the past 4 years. i live and work in the neighbourhood. the atmosphere is great with the artwork for sale and the homemade goods. unfortunately, this can and has lost its shine for me in the past but lately cafehavenhas been redeeming itself with great service! twice i have been in for a coffee and a to-go breakfast and twice i have left with a smile on my face. bravo on your current staff, cafe haven. i wish i had asked their names but perhaps the staff can be congratulated based on the days i have been in: today, august 30 and last week on august 24. i think i will be taking a few early lunch breaks this fall to sit in and enjoy the cafe more thoroughly. otherwise, i will be sure to spend the extra 50 cents on my morning coffee for the great service and interaction.

owners are rude !!!!!. i don't get why the owners of this cafe are so rude ......

i think they are husband and wife they have zero social skills awful ......

a few of their staff save them there are a couple of friendly staff members there not many

but for the most part this place is dirty and needs a makeover badly

the furniture is falling apart the flowers on the tables are always dead

the least they could do is paint the place .....

it is going downhill

and i just can not support the couple that own the place just two of the rudest people i have ever met.....

not the same. in sherwood park we are overwhelmed with tim horton's starbucks and second cup yuk yuk and yuk
now cafehavencould make the best lattes you have ever tasted they rivaled transcend's
sadly not the case anymore the previous owners have sold and the coffee is going downhill fast !!!!
so sad maybe transcend will do us a favor and open a location in sherwood park.
because our beloved cafehavenhas lots its flair and will never be the same again.
kind of like when high level diner changed owners never the same again

the only good thing about it is the decor. cafehavenmakes you hopeful when you walk through the door, a well equipped kitchen, well lit space and cool decor, especially the vault which you can enjoy a cuppa in (haven used to be a bank). but the coffee is sub par at best under the new ownership and the staff left something to be desired. the espresso was terrible, i didn't even finish it, it was just unpalatable, acrid and sour. my gf got a traditional cappuccino and she was in the same boat, leaving about half the drink unfinished. oh, and the staff wanted to charge me double for a half regular half decaffeinated espresso. i've never had a place charge me double for half and half. they said doing half and half would leave them with an extra espresso shot. i would understand a markup but double? show some accommodation. or they could have shown some problem solving and use the extra shot in my gf's drink.
on a side note i remember the drip coffee being quite good under the old owners.
i would love to see this place go under new new ownership, its a great space and sherwood park desperately needs more good independent and alternative shops and eateries. desperately.

it's changing. with new ownership a few of the things that made cafehavengreat are slipping. we went for brunch on the weekend and our heuvos rancheros was vastly different than before. less food, no guacamole, three flimsy little store bought pita slices. a big disappointment.
i don't think we are the only ones to notice, the place was not even half full which was unheard of at brunch time in the past.
having stated that, it is still the best coffee place in sherwood park but the luster is fading. the quirky staff is still good and the coffees taste great bit something is missing.

first choice for sunday brunch!!. fun, edgy, great atmosphere, clean, different, addictive!

brunch at cafehavenis a weekend event with me and my boyfriend, the cinnamon buns are unbelievable! we can never seem to not order one to share with our meals and we always battle over it as soon as it hits our table

i really enjoy there salmon bagel, although i would like creme cheese on both slices of bagel instead of one side it is still enjoyable because the bagel is delish with nothing on it

coffee....there is nothing like it in sherwood park,
staff- young, friendly, fast, efficient, grateful for your visit, never rude, always doing what they can to make you happy.
owner- extremely friendly, always around, very carefree and always dressed nicely.

a must try place! i love it

only place in the park for coffee!!. i love cafehavenbecause it's so close to where i stay in sherwood park. i don't have to go the city to go for the coffee experience.

as a vegetarian there is always something on the menu i can eat. my dining partners usually find something tasty as well. i currently live in calgary and this is one of the places i always go on a visit.

their hours aren't late enough on the weekends, but if you go during the day you can usually find a place to sit.

love. i visited cafehavenfor dinner and had the hummus salad and sweet potato wrap-so good! and healthy! i love the unique menu and that it's locally owned and operated. will be back for sure!
