cafe haven

nice little cafe. their food is healthy and wholesome and they have a good selection ofcoffeedrinks and teas. their parmesan edemame beans are to die for.

i have been dining in and taking out from cafe haven over the past 4 years. i live and work in the neighbourhood. the atmosphere is great with the artwork for sale and the homemade goods. unfortunately, this can and has lost its shine for me in the past but lately cafe haven has been redeeming itself with great service! twice i have been in for acoffeeand a to-go breakfast and twice i have left with a smile on my face. bravo on your current staff, cafe haven. i wish i had asked their names but perhaps the staff can be congratulated based on the days i have been in: today, august 30 and last week on august 24. i think i will be taking a few early lunch breaks this fall to sit in and enjoy the cafe more thoroughly. otherwise, i will be sure to spend the extra 50 cents on my morningcoffeefor the great service and interaction.

localcoffeeshop. stopped forcoffeeand breakfast. was hoping for a fruit and eggs option to go. no luck. so an almond rhubarb muffin will have to do. unfortunately all the almonds are on top and not one piece of rhubarb inside. staff are friendly and attentive while pre cooking eggs for eggs benedict ( not sure if that is a good idea) seating area is worn with mismatched furniture with the old bank vault still in tacked with a table for eight inside.

great coffee, and desserts in a lovely environment. recommend checking it out when they have live music. great place to meet a friend for acoffeeif you want something different than the basic starbucks experience.

owners are rude !!!!!. i don't get why the owners of this cafe are so rude ......

i think they are husband and wife they have zero social skills awful ......

a few of their staff save them there are a couple of friendly staff members there not many

but for the most part this place is dirty and needs a makeover badly

the furniture is falling apart the flowers on the tables are always dead

the least they could do is paint the place .....

it is going downhill

and i just can not support the couple that own the place just two of the rudest people i have ever met.....

not the same. in sherwood park we are overwhelmed with tim horton's starbucks and second cup yuk yuk and yuk
now cafe haven could make the best lattes you have ever tasted they rivaled transcend's
sadly not the case anymore the previous owners have sold and thecoffeeis going downhill fast !!!!
so sad maybe transcend will do us a favor and open a location in sherwood park.
because our beloved cafe haven has lots its flair and will never be the same again.
kind of like when high level diner changed owners never the same again

the only good thing about it is the decor. cafe haven makes you hopeful when you walk through the door, a well equipped kitchen, well lit space and cool decor, especially the vault which you can enjoy a cuppa in (haven used to be a bank). but thecoffeeis sub par at best under the new ownership and the staff left something to be desired. the espresso was terrible, i didn't even finish it, it was just unpalatable, acrid and sour. my gf got a traditional cappuccino and she was in the same boat, leaving about half the drink unfinished. oh, and the staff wanted to charge me double for a half regular half decaffeinated espresso. i've never had a place charge me double for half and half. they said doing half and half would leave them with an extra espresso shot. i would understand a markup but double? show some accommodation. or they could have shown some problem solving and use the extra shot in my gf's drink.
on a side note i remember the dripcoffeebeing quite good under the old owners.
i would love to see this place go under new new ownership, its a great space and sherwood park desperately needs more good independent and alternative shops and eateries. desperately.

a great alternative to the mainstreamcoffeeplaces. local art and talent featured as well.

it's changing. with new ownership a few of the things that made cafe haven great are slipping. we went for brunch on the weekend and our heuvos rancheros was vastly different than before. less food, no guacamole, three flimsy little store bought pita slices. a big disappointment.
i don't think we are the only ones to notice, the place was not even half full which was unheard of at brunch time in the past.
having stated that, it is still the bestcoffeeplace in sherwood park but the luster is fading. the quirky staff is still good and the coffees taste great bit something is missing.

fav!. this is some of the best speciality drinks i've ever had. the baristas seem to be quite well trained and know how to handlecoffeewell (coming from a former barista). however, i find cafe haven's lack of speciality coffees odd and so when we do work runs i'm forced to get starbucks for co workers who want caramel macchiatos or sugar free drinks. i also find the service is fairly hit or miss. there are some really great servers there, while some have little to no personality and don't deal particularly well with customers (or smile for that matter). regardless, i always recommend that people go there if they're looking for great drinks.

side note: cafe haven's london fog is by far the very best i have ever had bar none.

feel of a down to earthcoffeeshop where students and families like gather to, and use locally sourced ingredients and we were sold.  brunch time!

great coffee. i'd come here more often if it wasn't in sherwood. the espresso i had last year was awesome. possibly the bestcoffeein ab - even if they aren't acoffeeonly bar.

excellentcoffeeand tasty sandwiches. highly recommend chicken and brie. also, very tasty daily soups. a great place to come for lunch.

greatcoffeebut really, way too pricy for the amount of food. i mean, we paid $12 for a stupid and dry bagel and ut was so small that i know we will be hungry again in 45 minutes. if you want a good and big breakfast go somewhere else.

poor value and quality. i had lunch today for two people, for $31. we received two very, very small open faced sandwiches that were difficult to eat and did not present good value. for the second time, thecoffeei purchased was cold. even tim horton's can manage to serve a hot cup of coffee. never again..
