i have a new job in the midtown area of memphis, so i'm trying new places that are a bit of a trek from my east memphis residence. a few days ago, i met some friends for lunch at cafe eclectic , a hip eatery near rhodes college. we sat down at 1:00pm, but

what a great way to start the day! eggs florentine -cooked to perfection. fresh squeezed orange juice. a great cup of illy coffee. the service is so attentive and friendly. a great neighborhood nook. congratulations katherine on the new location in harbor town.

best midtown coffee shop. i have to admit, republic occasionally steals my heart, but the eclectic is the best in midtown by a landslide. they have a sandwhich that combines bacon, avacodo and grilled cheese, seriously i think that it's my favorite food of all time.

it has a real soda fountain. this place has good food but i went there to get my 3 year old and old fashioned soda fountain sundae. he opted for the chocolate milkshake and i had the charlie brown sundae. everything was great and the place had the usual midtown charm
