cafe eclectic

we went here with about an hour to eat at 10:00 a.m. on a friday morning. we are pretty efficient diners, and usually that's plenty of time, but our waitress took nearly 30 minutes to even take our order. when i asked her to bring the check with the food so we'd get out on time, she said it wasn't realistic and unfair. i didn't ask her to rush anything. just bring the check with the food. she honestly embarrassed me. we left a $10 bill to more than pay for our drinks and left because if she can't even take our orders for 30 minutes, we just lost faith. i'm bummed because i've enjoyed thisplacebefore.

felt rushed!. i went in to café eclectic today and i felt rushed by my server "adam". i understand serving because i am a serving as well but, when you work at a cafe its a little different. give a person time to drink and eat. do not continue to ask them if they are ready.i didn't stay long not even 40minutes. i like thisplaceit has a warm feeling but i do not like feeling like i'm not welcome or am taking to long. i didn't say anything because i am not quick to complain but when i heard the table across from me mention the same thing to her friends i knew that it wasn't just me but it was him. if you want to flip your tables to make more money try somewhere other than a café.

flippin fantastic. thisplaceis delicious! the cappuccino i had was probably one of the best i've ever experienced. i got the challah french toast which was perfect, and prices and great. definitely worth it to try!

rude server. been here a handful of times. food is always alright. love the atmosphere. the last few times i've been cursed with having the same server. now, i have about 10 years of serving experience and totally understand what it's like and give most servers the benefit of the doubt. but this guy is a different case. i think his name is robert. he is a little older. wears black crocs. he is in one word, rude. he once rushed my family through the ordering process only to return 10 minutes later and have us repeat orders. (why was he just now putting our order in?) he took our drink order one time and had a cig break before making our drinks. seriously? my boyfriend asked "may i have a to go plate?" his response "i can get you a to go box." ugh, he just infuriates me and is the main reasons my friends and i don't consider thisplaceas an option anymore.

went there for lunch today...the service was good but the food was pretty bad. last few times i've been there it seems the quality of the food has gone downhill. the hummus appetizer was probably the worst hummus i've ever had and the pita bread wasn't warm and soft- it was charred so badly that it was hard like a very thick burnt pita chip and could break a tooth. the hummus had way too much lemon juice and had a watery consistency not creamy. they also took off my favorite app- the grilled shrimp and avocado which was a downer. i'd like to give thisplaceanother shot (atmosphere and coffee are great) but if i have another bad experience again i won't be coming back.

not good. the 3 of us sat on the patio. it took 20 mi urges just to get water and another 15 toplaceour order. all in all, it took an hour to get our food, and another 20 minutes to get our check. the diablo wrap wasnt that good. also, since my dish was very spicy, i asked for more water, it took a long time, just go get a glass of water. we were never asked if we wanted any kind of drink other than water and we came for the ice cream sundaes, but we felt as though we would be there tilll dinnertime, we were very, very disappointed in the service. also, i was told by the manager that there were 4 people doing nothing, so sitting on the patio would be great.

great little artsyplacein midtown. loved everything i ordered (the hot chocolate was devine) and will definitely return. greatplacefor sitting solo & working with a laptop, going for a date, or having a group get-together.

i really love thisplacewhen i get a good waiter. i've learned not to go during lunch and expect to leave within forty five minutes to an hour.

not sure. when i got to the restaurant, i stood at the front for about 5 minutes while employees kept walking past me and chit chatting with each other. theplacewas not busy, only about 6 tables were full and there were about 7 to 10 employees that i saw milling around. the food was mediocre. maybe i ordered the wrong thing, but my food was not very good. i ordered the diablo wrap with roasted potatoes. the potatoes had way too much rosemary, or something, on them and the wrap, while it tasted good, was dripping in oil. literally, my plate was swimming in oil by the time i was half way through the wrap. my coffee was delicious though. the waiter was very friendly but he never once refilled our water glasses.

cafe eclectic (big e & small e) is the best!!. great food and great service... the wonder dog is some of the best i've tasted. thisplaceis a classic "joint"! the best thing is it's locally owned! break the chain and eat local!!

loooove cafe e...big & little. cafe e has become my favoriteplaceto go especially after a stressed day at work or if i want to just have a chill moment. the customer service is always on point and so is the coffee and or food.

i have officially decided that cafe eclectic is my all-time favorite coffee shop in memphis . yes, that is a big title. it's true. all of the other coffee shops i have been to have their pros and cons, but i have not come across one con for cafe eclectic. they are all good. first let's start with the location . the one i usually frequent is at mclean and north parkway, in the beautiful evergreen district. there is beautiful trees and architecture from the rhodes campus. the one i visited recently with my friend rachel is in harbor town, aka possibly the cutest neighborhood of all time. now, let's talk about the atmosphere . this is aplacewhere you can do everything at your own pace. they have an actual menu, so you can pop in and out for a quick lunch. you can order a muffin to-go for breakfast. however, my favorite is to camp-out for hours at a time with coffee and a snack to work at my computer. whatever you want to do is fine with them. the service is wonderful also . everyone is

love thisplaceand thrilled to have another good bfast option in midtown but for god's sake the service is consistently awful! train your staff or hire more people!

everything you want!. thisplacehas everything. super cute atmosphere, a patio that welcomes dogs, free wi-fi, fountain drinks, ridiculous housemade desserts, great lunch and breakfast, friendly service! cheddar bacon scones are amazing. i also got a piece of the espresso chocolate cake last time i was there, omg. so good. the parking situation is annoying when it's raining or something, but that's a minimal complaint, and does not keep me from going there!
