cafe eclectic

awlful service. today my mother and i went to cafe eclectic for the first time. i had heard some wonderful things about the place, so i wanted to try it out. it was so loud in there, but i suppose that is to be expected. the waitress we had was soooo rude! she got in my mother's face (a senior citizen) to recite the specials of the day (loudly) because she couldn't hear her. she treated her like she was challenged! then when my mother decided to change the side item on her order she (the waitress) acted as if it had really ticked her off! she even rolled her eyes at my mother! the waitress walked off before mama could ask what comes in the salad (the option she was wanting to change her side item too). i haven't had service this bad in a really long time. i won't be back.

i came here for breakfast. the food was pretty good not the best i've had but good. service was also pretty good. my waitress jana was a doll.

good burgers. since they are in the neighborhood, my husband and i have been there many times. the last time my burger was undercooked and the sweet potato fries had been under the heat lamp too long. the food selection isn't very large, so i usually go with the burger. our waitress with multiple piercings was great. attentive and listened to you. we will definitely go again and request freshly cooked fries.

what's up with the chef?. took my daughter for her birthday lunch, also invited my sister and niece. this was their first time eating there and were excited since we have raved about the chicken pot pie. of course my daughter and i ordered the pot pie and we were told it was not good enough to be served, which i was thankful for since i do not like paying for something that the staff would not eat. we then ordered mac and cheese, and were later told it was not suitable either....fine, things happen and i understand. we were told we would not have to pay for our meal which was nice, but unexpected. we left a 20% tip for the waitress and were fixing to leave when she brought us a bill of 4.50 for the iced teas and my sister and niece their bill. fine, i understand, but tell someone next time that their lunch if free but, you have to pay for drinks. i would have really been embarrassed if i was chased out the door to pay for my tea!

sramsey. chicken pot pie was delicious. coffee fresh and hot. will be back, everyone enjoyed lunch.

the taste and texture of these burgers were second to none. the beauty though is, other than a little bit of salt and pepper, they were barely seasoned. the meat is rich, and buttery tasting. it was juicy and full of great ground angus beef flavor. my patty melt was so good, i could swear i hear myself making little noises of pure joy as i ate.

i'm from goodyear, az and was in memphis visiting my sisters. we had brunch at cafe electric and loved it!!! omg the food and service was excellent. i was so pleased i spoke with the owner to let her know that whenever i am in memphis, i will definitely be back!!!

slooowwww. the food is great but the service is terrible and often forgetful. it's like management trains there employees to not trouble themselves to serve customers in a timely manner.

great food and great service. everything was fresh and portions were great too. had the spicy diablo wrap w fresh greens on the side. excellent for breakfast n brunch also

just had the black bean wrap for the first time - absolutely incredible! would recommend it to even a staunch meat-lover!

just visited again this morning. had the rachel's wrap for the first time. just awesome like everything else on the menu, especially the fresh avocado.

good, fresh food. great service too. meaning to become a "regular."

not sure. when i got to the restaurant, i stood at the front for about 5 minutes while employees kept walking past me and chit chatting with each other. the place was not busy, only about 6 tables were full and there were about 7 to 10 employees that i saw milling around. the food was mediocre. maybe i ordered the wrong thing, but my food was not very good. i ordered the diablo wrap with roasted potatoes. the potatoes had way too much rosemary, or something, on them and the wrap, while it tasted good, was dripping in oil. literally, my plate was swimming in oil by the time i was half way through the wrap. my coffee was delicious though. the waiter was very friendly but he never once refilled our water glasses.

more than you think. this is my second meal at café eclectic café. first i had breakfast with biscuits and sausage gravy. there were plenty of health choices but i wanted gravy.
the coffee is a brand called illy. very smooth and flavor full. not over done like charbucks. i also had the grits. this is not "old school grits with no taste but a great corn flavor. they were busy but the service was great. they also have a great selection of bakery items.
my second visit was for a quick dinner. the n'awlins dog. it is a nathans dog with chopped lettuces, tomato, bacon and a ramoulade sauce. oh my! it was good.
i also tried the gator taters. chopped regular and sweet potatoes with onion, bacon, chesses and fresh jalapenos cooked on a flat grill. it was a great side to go with the dog.
there were many great sounding things on the menu. i'll have to go back and try more.

in all, cafe eclectic is great coffee shop that offers both excellent food and coffee and the staff goes to great lengths to make the customer's experience a great one. after my recent experiences, i will definitely go there as often as i can and i highly recommend others to dine there as well.
