the comment made by one reviewer about there being preferential treatment and service accorded to some patrons and not others sums up all of my experiences at the burgundy lion and underlines the lack of professionalism allowed to thrive and flourish. i don't have the patience to put up with a school cafeteria mentality where the supposed cool kids are going to serve their friends first, ensure they have attentive service and act as though the other paying customers are to be only served between inside jokes with their friends. all that being said, i just want to pay my money, be served and treated as equal to customers and enjoy great food, which is difficult at this place because the employees are allowed to act as if they are doing customers a favourite when it comes to seat selection and service levels at the table. many of the staff are even too cool to smile or even be friendly as they honestly feel they are doing customers a favourite. very warped perception of reality in the burgundy lion.

the food and service are way below average. the food is way below average. i had the tasteless portobello burger. another problem is that while the place obviously hires their young and trendy male and female waiters based on looks and not their customer service skills or waiting experience, what you also get thrown in free of charge is a healthy dose of attitude that borders on arrogance. a group of us went for a late brunch on sunday may 13 and wanted to sit next to the window. simple request. the seats were empty (no reservation sign on the table) and restaurant had lots of other seating available and no line up at the door. when the waitress arrived to seat us, we politely told her our seating preference. she then asked a guy tendingbar(i guess the floor manager) who told her no. she then told us "you are sitting there" and pointed to seats near the back of the restaurant. we were starving and between errands, so we did as we were told (although we the paying customers). i would have definitely complained, but we were starving and it would have made my brunch companions uncomfortable. the employees are arrogant. they have little respect for customers. the feeling given to customers is that you're lucky we let you eat here, so shut up and do as told. the food is then below average and the place is too loud to have an average conversation without raising your voice. avoid this place and go somewhere that respects their customers and where the male and female staff do not view themselves as doing you a favour! to sum up... the food is average and the staff lack respect for paying customers.

diva #1 went to high school with a group of pretty amazing guys that now, long after graduation, she still loves to go out with. when we were in high school no sweet 16 was complete without them, in cegep they made clubbing fun, in university house parties weren’t complete without their insanity and now they make any restaurant orbarnight a great goddamn time. conflicting schedules make getting jb and the boys a little hard to get together but diva #1 loves bringing the gang together for good times, a lot of drinking and trips down memory lane. a late celebration of jb’s birthday brought us to burgundy lion, a british pub on notre dame in griffintown.  besides being a restaurant, it has a fullbarincluding whiskey blends, highlands, a whiskey tasting menu and of course the usual variety of cocktails, wines and champagne.

i went to the burgundy lion and left at home. though i cannot speak for the food i can for the bar. as someone who works at abari will speak for the bar. i loved the service for starters, ourbartender was busy but talkative and attentive. the best part of going to abaris having an interesting server. she let us try this interesting shot, there was espresso in it. also my gin tonic were perfect, not that one can actually screw up a gin tonic that badly but she really did a good job with it. the decor is also nice and young to say the least. kind of hipster type of feel with the people and the decor. recommended!

good spot in little burgundy. this trendy english pub in one of my faves in the point saint charles - little burgundy area of town. they have a reasonable selection of cold beer. i quite like the bier brier which i was told is brewed close by in st henri.
the staff are friendly and the food is good although they could expand their menu a bit i think.
can't go wrong with the fish and chips. there are plenty of restaurants that screw up this meal, too much batter, too much oil but, they do a good job.
i have eaten at thebarand at table.
can't go too wrong. the only drawback is that it can be a bit noisy.

poor quality. i am from out of town and have been here before. this place used to be a fun place to hang out but it has gone downhill. food is overpriced and beer is ordinary at best. nothing worse than being treated like a bum, waiting for 2nd rate food. very noisy too which added to the frustration - i just wanted to settle my bill and leave before having one big headache. place looks better suited to teenagers who can have their first drink. vibe and service is better in the newbarone street over, even though it has a silly name.

la nourriture est bien, style à britich!! cependant, grosse lacune au niveau de la rapidité et la qualité du service pour le déjeuner. généralement, le service du soir et aubarest mieux.

i really want to like this place and i keep trying to give it a chance. however, it's consistently disappointing. food is average at best. service is hit and miss, usually on the slow and unfriendly spectrum. the worst thing about this pub is the noise level. it's simply unbearable. my diagnosis: this pub has an identity crisis; it's a pub that's pretending to be a loudbarso that it can satisfy its hipster clientele.
