burger heavan is a specialty burger joint located in new westminster. everything from the outside to the inside of the restaurant screams old school diner. they have old pictures and newspaper clippings from back in the day and provides a very unique feel to the restaurant.

there is a side parking lot for about 4 cars where you can park for free but chances are they'll be taken. you'll likely be able to park right in front of the restaurant with a paid parking stall. the rates aren't too bad at $1.75/hr.

we arrived on a sunday night at around 6:30pm. it was a busy hour so that wait was about 15 mins. the restaurant itself is quite tiny. it will seat around 30 people with patio seating extending that to about 40 people. we had a quick look of their menus and decided to order "the works" and their special "jacked up grilled cheese".

the works comes with cheddar, mozzarella, bacon, mushrooms, red onions, and pickles. you also get your choice of a side - either wedged fries or salad. we went with the wedged fries. you had the option to choose between white or multigrain bread for the buns - we opted for the multigrain. the burger itself came out beautifully. it was big and packed a tasty punch. when you bit into it, the juices would just flow out leaving you with a messy hand. everything tasted great and worked well together - the ingredients tasted fresh and you could distinctly tell what was it in.

the jacked up grilled cheese was their special during our visit. it was your typical grilled cheese sandwich with the addition of smoked meat, caramelized onions and a spread of sweet jam. we noticed a hint of bbq sauce on here as well. this normally came with soup and your choice ofsalador wedge fries but because they did not have soup, they offered both thesaladand wedge fries. there was the option of a gardensalador caesarsalad- we opted for the caesar salad. we did not know it at the time but the caesarsaladhas an additional cost to swap it out. this was noted on the menu but we neglected to see it since we weren't expecting to order a salad. this one was a bit of a disappointment. we were really expecting the grilled cheese to come through but it was just so over powered by everything else. it tasted good but isn't really a grilled cheese but more of a deli sandwich.

the service was good and the food came out promptly. we had the remind our server about our order of fries (because soup wasn't available) and it was quickly brought to us.

this experience was a bit of a hit and miss. they did some things really right and some things not so right. overall, we thought it was a great burger joint and just that. we would recommend staying their burgers options instead of other options on the menu. if you're looking for a good burger joint, you've found one in burger heaven.

this is another stop along my the way of my reviews of burgers throughout canada.   located at #77 10th street in new westminster, bc  this 1970’s retro burger joint boasts a wealth of awesome burgerness. i tried their “the works” burger. this is a magnificent burger with a hand crafted patty, real bacon (not the paper thin stuff you get at some locations), cheese, onion, mushrooms, tomatoes, lettuce on a delightful bun. it was a  truly heavenly and filling burger.  i selected the homemade wedge cut fries from the availble sides and they were a great addition although you could have  asaladinstead if fries do not meet your fancy.

since it was so nice out me and a friend skipped the last half of our law class and though we'd try "new west's best burger joint" and see what all the hypes about. i had the swiss bacon pickle burger. my buddy had the hulk burger. service was really quick and efficient and our server was very polite. great front end work overall.

so now the important part, the burger. my burger was perfectly cooked, nice and juicy. the tomatoes, onions, lettuce and pickles were all fresh and the picks were even still crispy which was nice. the only problem with this big burger (portion size was definitely ample) was i felt it was a bit under seasoned. i mean with bacon and swiss cheese i thought it would have a bit more bang. it had a mayo/secret sauce as well but again this didn't really light up the burger for me as i didn't really notice it. i think the burgers could do with a bit more salt n pepper after they're finished grilling. that secret sauce could use a bit more too. although having never had the sauce by itself i can't really say. maybe my burg just needed another dollop of it.

now normally it wouldn't have bugged me that much that my meat disc was a little under seasoned but at these prices (my burger andsaladwith two beers and 15% tip came to about $32) and with burger heaven supposedly being the best burger joint in the area i was expecting perfection.

so wrapping this up, i'm willing to believe this was just an off night and will give them another chance but that next burger better blow me away or i won't be coming back.

remember i told you guys i was craving burgers yesterday? welll, today i made the trip out to burger heaven to sastisfy that craving tehe! burger heaven is located in new west, and they're known for their specialty burgers, their thick cut fries, and their mile high burger (which consists of 10 patties stacked on top of each other)! after my food came the guy beside me looked at me and said "you sure you can finish that by yourself?" lol! guess he was pretty impressed when i did, and he told me to take a picture of my empty plate haha! note: today i'm not going to be writing my "overview" section because i'm studying for midterms lol. but after my exams are over on weds, everything will be back to normal! :) elk burger combo $16 3/5 stars   i was originally going to order their basic #1 burger, but i decided against it because i thought it would be too boring lol!! i am at a place called burger heaven after all, i might as well order something weird! so i decided to get a burger off their specialty menu, their elk burger!    the burger patty was moist, and really thick haha. the sauteed mushrooms packed a ton of flavour, a myraid of sweet, salty, and savoury coming together. the cheese was perfectly melted and covered the entire patty. the bacon pieces were crispy, and not too oily (albeit really salty.) was this worth the $17 that i paid? imo, no lol. it was good, but not $17 good lol! fries fries 3.5/5 stars salad3/5 stars   the fries were awesome! thick cut, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, very potatoey. i ended up dipping it in thesaladdressing it came with haha! thesaladdressing was delish: tangy, sweet, and garlicky! i was happy that my burger came with a side ofsaladhaha, to balance out the meat!

after a day of snowboarding at cypress mountain, we were looking forward to having a late lunch at burger heaven in new westminster.  at 2pm on a saturday the small burger restaurant was packed to our surprise.  we needed to wait 20 minutes for a table for 3, so we decided to get take out instead. i ordered a  the works burger, which had cheddar, mozzarella, bacon & mushrooms and dill pickles. this was a really big burger, and i loved it from the first bite to the last. the patty was really juicy. everything worked for me from the saltiness of the bacon, and the sourness of the pickle. if you are craving for a real burger, this burger will take care of you. to my surprise, my friends didn’t enjoy theirs burgers as much as i did with mine. they had the bbq cheddar, bacon & mushroom burger and the heaven sent grilled chicken burger . both said they were good, but nothing special. the burgers ranges around $12-$15, you can order the burgers withsalador th

heaven comes.... at a price..... a typical autumn day and too long a gap since the bbq was fired up gave rise to a search for good burger... and since it had been a while, my buddy and i decided to waive the usual burger king or wendy's, for a more 'elevated' experience. burger heaven.

arriving mid afternoon on a tuesday, we were the only patrons on premises, and as one would hope, the service was quick and attentive. (no problem there). my friend had never been, but being one of the coupon and "what's on special" persuasion, he chose the special of the day - while i decided to order 'the works'- weighing in at about $15.00.

upon ordering we were asked the typical questions regarding drinks and side dishes - the waitress indicating salad, fries, 1/2 and 1/2, cesarsalador onion rings. now here we will take some responsibility for our actions... both of us declined the usual, with both of us opting for onion rings instead of fries, and my buddy, a cesar salad.... all under the assurance that these were fresh and 'home-made'.

soon thereafter we receiving a pair of piping hot burgers and onion rings, with my friends salad. the or's came as about 5 or 6 decent sized, with the rest just being batter, or a couple of wedding ring sized pieces. the cesarsaladwas pretty limp, and certainly not fresh. however we dug in and after a perfunctory 'how is everything' had our drinks refreshed. so far - ok, not spectacular - but ok.

the real shocker came at the time of the bill. over $50.00 for a pair of burgers, some mediocre onion rings and 1/2 cesar salad. and because my friend had gone 1/2 and 1/2 - he was charged for two upgrades - at $2.99 each - for essentially 1/2 side of onion rings, and 1/2 side of salad. so the best part of $6.00 for an upgrade to the existing fare. in somewhat of a state of shock (we could have gone to earl's cheaper), we paid our bill, reflecting on our good fortune for not being penalized for the (single) refill too.

in summary - i guess if you are a fan of outrageous burgers, this might still be the place to go... but as value for the dollar, i (and my buddy) consider it very poor. if the or's andsaladhad been full-sized, and fresh....well, frankly i'd still consider it too expensive. even with the coupon mentioned by the waitress in the local newspaper, this meal would have been cheaper at a cactus club, earls, or even 'the keg'. so in terms of future choices for a decent hamburger experience? well, i guess... heaven can wait...................
