burger 55

used a groupon. firsttimehere. cheese burger and fries. both were hot, fresh and tasty. like the selection of flavored ketchups and seasoned salts. i had enough food leftover for dinner.

awesome burgers. friendly staff. i always go there everytimei visit penticton. i love trying different styles of burgers on the menu. tried the chicken burger added some maple bacon, aged cheddar, swiss cheese, tomatoes, cilantro, onion, mayo and mustard on a sesame seed bun. it was 10/10.

my husband loves burgers and was quite excited to try this place. unfortunately it was very disappointing. the wait was way too long. the meat on both of the burgers we ordered was overcooked and dry. after taking thetimeto fill out the sheet to build our burgers and wait forever to get them one of our burgers was missing the sprouts it was supposed to come with. we paid extra for avocado and there was the slightest smear of green on one of the buns definitely nowhere near the amount to justify charging extra. we paid $30 for 2 burgers 2 sides of fries and a shared fountain pop. not cheap for burgers and fries but reasonable if they were good. we felt ripped off after eating and will not be back.

won't be back...ever.. after seeing positive reviews on line, my daughter and i decided to see what all the greatness was about at burger 55. got there and it was fairly busy. the patio had picnic tables as did the inside and the decor was pretty uneventful, but we were here for the food. after a 15 minute wait in line and shelling out $45 hard earned bucks for two burgers, fries, and shakes i commented to her that i had never paid that much for a couple of burgers before, so these had better be spectacular! after another 20 minute wait, our names were called and up i went to fetch the food. at first glance, what a disappointment, a foil wrapped burger, a small amount of fries, and a small cup filled with "milk"shake. the disappointment continued as the burger was not home style in the least and the patty was dry and tasteless. walmart offers tastier burger patties! the fries were not favourable and there was only about 20, and the milkshake was the furthest thing from being just that!

needless to say, the meal was a complete disappointment and certainly not worth the money we paid....at all! this was the first and the lasttimei'll be visiting burger 55. in leaving, i almost felt sorry for the rest of the patrons and wondered if they felt almost ripped off by disappointing meals and would be sitting down to the let out the truth like me. 55 is barely a passing mark in school and is well deserving of the grade to give this place. we ended the meal off by heading over to dq for a real milkshake...sad but true! p.s. - the photos look nothing like what you actually get.

you don't gotta eat here. you would expect a place that was so highly reviewed on television to actually try and live up to the praise. 5 of us dined there yesterday and all i can say was it was a huge waste oftimeand money. the staff are juvenile and really don't seem to care about food. the beef on the burgers was so dry and overcooked, the bun for the kids slider was rock hard, and the fries...well, i can't even really equate them to anything other than chewy cardboard. one person in our party actually got, and was charged for, 2 burgers though his order form clearly only had one marked and the staff offered no explanation or correction for this error. the best part of the whole meal were the kids chicken fingers, a sad statement for a burger joint.

your burger, your way!. i love the concept. you build your own burger the way you like it. it's easy to get carried away and create a monster that has so many extras you can't taste a damn thing. i kept it fairly simple and created a burger i know i like. double patty, caramelized onions, bacon, cheese, mayo and a few veggies.

the burger was great and as a whole, i enjoyed it, but it wasn't as tasty as i'd have liked, considering how messy it was! i am however, eager to try this place again and build something a little different and out of the norm as my choice of extras might not have cut it.

some will say pricey but it is comparable to eating out in a restaurant except it does have more of a hole in the wall atmosphere. the place is clean with plenty of patio seating. washrooms were also clean.

wait times are ridiculous and when i was there they kept adjusting the volume of the music (waaay too loud) and skipping songs... not cool.

nexttimei'm in kelowna i will drive out of my way to visit burger 55 again!

tasty but long wait. the burger was great but the wait is too long. nexttimei will avoid the peak lunch and dinner times

tasty but long wait. the burgers were great the only down side is the long wait...

where's the beef. i went to the burger 55 for the firsttimeand was really disappointed. my bun was a few days old and the burger was tiny and didnt fill the bun.
i was very disappointed.

we ate at burger 55 for the firsttimetoday, and will not return. the service was terrible. we asked for, and were given, cups for water, but then could not find any either from the pop dispenser or anywhere else. when we inquired as to where we could get water, we were told that we could either use the bathrooms or the staff could fill them -but that they had to cook as well. the hot dogs were burned, and the buns were old and stale. management rudely responded to feedback, and eventually offered to give us back our money, which, given the rude reception, we refused. give this place a miss - we certainly will from now on.

efficiency and grace. two things:

first of all, when it gets busy it seems to me that instead of grilling 5 or 6 patties (which is what i observed) and then completely assembling the burgers before starting more patties is inefficient. it would make more sense to have patties on the grill in different stages of cooking. the wait times might actually be reduced then. my burger was made and assembled, and the patty for my partner's burger was just being started so that by thetimehis was ready, mine was cold.

secondly, the staff is not friendly. they act like they are doing me a favour by allowing me to grace their very cool establishment. smiles would help a lot.

after two visits in mid- august 2013.

not impressed. after seeing burger 55 on "you gotta eat here!" we decided to check it out on our annual vacation this year. we were there on wednesday august 14, 2013. we decided that due to the large number in our group (17) we would take our order to go. we filled out the order forms ahead oftimeand 6 of us went to order and pick up our meal. the "lady" working behind the counter that night was extremely rude, at one point she called one of the women in our group a bitch. our burgers were "ok" but the bacon was almost raw and several burgers were missing things that we had ordered and in some cases paid extra for. we also ordered a couple of dips for the fries and onion rings that we never received. after waiting for over 45 minutes for our food it wasn't worth ourtimeto return to have things corrected. don't think we'll be returning next year when we come to penticton again.

wow, a burger experience, not just a burger! not a fast food place, not a sit and enjoy supper kind of thing. it's a joint, a good old fashioned burger joint. fries so good you want seconds. burgers with great flavour and toppings to match. i'm from out of town but now i know where to stop everytimea pass through!!! 5 star food

great joint. definitely a dive...the best kind of dive. great atmosphere, great employees and great burgers. nexttimei am definitely going for a freestyle. i may go to penticton specifically for this place....

secondtimethere, and still very bland. there's alot of toppings but that flavor is not there. 2 burgers 2 fries and a pop for $30. no thanks.
