this is a fun, hip burger joint. the have their own brewery onsite and serve craft brew to match their burgers. their topping choice are through the roof. i ordered goat cheese, bacon marmalade and grilled onions. our friend order a hotdog with double bacon on it. they make their own hot dogs and was probably the best hot dog that i have ever had! very tender. they have regular fries, sweet potatoesfries(sprinkled with cinnamon sugar) andfriesfried in duck fat. the duckfriesare the best, hands down. also ask for a side of aioli to dip in. they offer unique deserts. the special for the night was homemade dill pickle ice cream. i had to try it. the pickle was very pronounced, not subtle at all. it was edible and am experience but i would not order again. find the rope on the column next to the window into the brewery. pull it to hear the cow moo! this is a self serve kind of place with no wait staff. go to bar to get drinks. go to back to order food. they bring to your table when ready. they also host many special events such ad beer dinners and nights with special, unusual burger meat (example i was told was rattle snake burger). great place. i would highly recommend.

disappointed. if you come, come only for the beer, not the food.. although the beer was fairly good, everything else fell terribly short. place was packed and understaffed. i ordered the pimento burger which comes with pimento cheese and pickled veggies - i also ordered mayo on the side. the size of my burger was much smaller than that of the bun. it was cooked correctly ("little pink"), but was highly over-seasoned and very dry - i'm talkin' 0% juiciness! the pickled veggies? two pieces of cauliflower sittin' on top of my burger. really? this was pathetic! i never received the side of mayo, even after asking for it twice. the duck frites were also a waste - unless you literally enjoy shoestringfriesfried to a crisp. the glass of water i had to ask for finally came but only after i had completed my entire meal. maybe grab a beer here, but don't waste your appetite here.

taking that first bite you first notice the crunch of the frenchfriesand the amazing taste that came with it. in my panicked state i grabbed a waitress walking by and asked what thesefrieswere she explained that they were duck frites and that they were freshly cut, fried in duck fat, and topped with rosemary and fleur de sel. what. the bacon was actually a bacon marmalade and gave the whole bite a sweet yet savory note that accompanied the burger freakn’ well. the cheese was gruyere, which i can’t say that i have had often, but reminded me a lot of how mozzerella tastes, and was a great choice that bound the burger together. rounding it all off was the accompanying over-easy egg (which i prefer mine to be over-medium) but the freshly baked bun soaked in the yoke and there was hardly any spillage. it added a nice base note to the whole experience.

i really wanted to like this place more than i actually did.    the burger was good but not great.  i get the whole farm to table and pasture-raised beef thing, and while that might make one feel better about what they're eating, i'm not sure that it really improves the taste in any way.

i like that this place grinds their own beef every day.  i don't know what cuts they're using, but i didn't taste anything necessarily special in the mix.  i might be imagining things, but i did sense a slight taste of worcestershire sauce in the meat.  not something i'm all too crazy about if they're adding it as a seasoning.   unless otherwise specified, the burgers come "a tad pink" .   mine was a bit more pink than that, but i was fine with the doneness.    the size of the burger was perhaps an ounce or so smaller than i would have hoped for.

the dirtyfriesare good and the duckfriesare great - although i really wouldn't have minded a few more of them as they were $2 and $3 respectively as sparse sides.

stay away. i will always give a place the 3 strike rule. i did this with bull city burger. they cannot seem to get two burgers and two orders offriescorrect for the third time.
when i pointed this out it took three people to come to the table asking what the problem was the 3rd the manger asked me to pay for the fries, really you made the mistake i gave him the 2 dollars and asked to speak with seth the owner. now i see where the staff get the the "tude" from. i will not go back! go some where else where your appreciated and problems are taken care and not get hounded for 2 bucks when they made the mistake. i hear he is opening a pizza joint i am sure the service will be the same......horrible at best!

just ok....was expecting more. after some of my friends just raved about this place, i came in with very high expectations for my burger. i went there for a quick sunday lunch, so i cannot comment on their beers (just went in for the burger).

burger was moist but was definitely underseasoned. the burger was cooked to the proper temperature. bun was ok. a friend of mine who came with me was also dissapointed in the duckfries(they were not thick cut at all and very thin).

seating is family style on these long tables with either wooden chairs or long wooden benches and you have to go up and order at the counter (they bring the food to you). they also don't leave out napkins, but provide one with your burger when they bring it out to you (which i thought was very stingy). just leave the napkins out on the tables for the customers to use if they need an extra one or if they spill something on the table.

so, overall, the burger wasn't bad, it's just not the elevated burger i was expecting from all the hype.

good veggie burger. i had the joan jett veggie burger which is a 3 bean veggie patty--not too shabby. it was better than most veggie patties i've had, but not quite the best. i would highly recommend it. the one thing i noticed about this place is the burger patties are thick, they aren't extremely large in circumference, but they are thick. the rest of the family had burgers which they really liked. the burgers are cooked medium so if you like them well done make sure you request it. we also had the duck frites and sweet potato fries. the duck frites were good, but really thin, like a phone charger cord thin. the sweet potatofrieshad sugar and cinnamon on them. that made them a little too sweet for my taste, but that didn't stop me from eating them. overall, it was one of the better places we ate on this trip. i would recommend it.

i wish i could like this place. i'm a big fan of durham, durham restaurants and durham breweries so i want to like bull city b&b, but last night i was served a hotdog that could only be described as revolting. my husband had a burger that wasn't bad at all, but it was very small, especially for the price. i will say thefriesand beer are good.

go to mcdonalds! i love burgers, but these were terrible. about the size of a hockey puck. my girlfriend and i's burgers andfriescame out wrong twice. the beer was good, but that was the only great thing. and i can't stress enough the word cold. the buns are stone cold, abd each of the toppings you order are cold. also i'm pretty sure they do not cook fresh. ourfries& burgers came out way too fast to be fried and grilled to order. please save your time and taste buds and go to uptown burger or even mcdonalds.

yum. after this place first opened i heard a lot of mixed reviews. maybe there was a lot of build up and wasn't what everyone expected? when i finally went i had an absolutely perfect time. i recommend sitting at the bar, you have the opportunity to peruse the menu, taste all of the beers, and chat up the very helpful and friendly bartenders. the beers are great. i tried the porter and the ipa and was very happy with both. my burger was yummy, but the duck fatfriesreally stood out. they are so good y'all! the inside looks wonderful, very simple. i will definitely be back and have been urging those who didn't like it the first time to give it another go. a lot of those new restaurant kinks have been ironed out.
