this is a fun, hip burger joint. the have their own brewery onsite and serve craft brew to match their burgers. their topping choice are through the roof. i ordered goat cheese, bacon marmalade and grilled onions. our friend order a hotdog with double bacon on it. they make their own hot dogs and was probably the best hot dog that i have ever had! very tender. they have regular fries, sweet potatoes fries (sprinkled with cinnamon sugar) and fries fried in duck fat. the duck fries are the best, hands down. also ask for a side of aioli to dip in. they offer unique deserts. the special for the night was homemade dill pickle ice cream. i had to try it. the pickle was very pronounced, not subtle at all. it was edible and am experience but i would not order again. find the rope on the column next to the window into the brewery. pull it to hear the cow moo! this is a self serve kind of place with no wait staff. go to bar to get drinks. go to back to order food. they bring to your table when ready. they also host many special events such adbeerdinners and nights with special, unusual burger meat (example i was told was rattle snake burger). great place. i would highly recommend.

disappointed. if you come, come only for the beer, not the food.. although thebeerwas fairly good, everything else fell terribly short. place was packed and understaffed. i ordered the pimento burger which comes with pimento cheese and pickled veggies - i also ordered mayo on the side. the size of my burger was much smaller than that of the bun. it was cooked correctly ("little pink"), but was highly over-seasoned and very dry - i'm talkin' 0% juiciness! the pickled veggies? two pieces of cauliflower sittin' on top of my burger. really? this was pathetic! i never received the side of mayo, even after asking for it twice. the duck frites were also a waste - unless you literally enjoy shoestring fries fried to a crisp. the glass of water i had to ask for finally came but only after i had completed my entire meal. maybe grab abeerhere, but don't waste your appetite here.

everything is local and fresh! food was fantastic, freshly cooked to order, and taste was spectacular. i will say i did not go or orderbeer(not my thing). the house mustard was excellent and i loved the pickles too! since everything is local there was no tomatoes due to the season. i look forward to many more visits here!

good burgers goodbeerand great vibe. traveling to duke, we asked a few students to recommend a good place for dinner. they were right on. we were greeted at the door by a very enthusiastic employee who filled us in on our options. we tried a few burgers and sides. burgers were not large but played bigger than they looked. very very good and quite juicy. sides were decent. had the lighter ale which was good. burgers were the star of this show. would definitely return. place had an edgy vibe. order food, sit down and it will be brought to you. everything locally sourced, organic and fresh! grades out as an "a".

one of the newer places in town where all the hipsters, soccer moms, young business professionals and foodies go is to bull city burger and brewery. when you first enter the space, you see big, long tables a long bar on one side of the space, the brewing vats ofbeeron the other side of the space and the order line/open kitchen in the back.

food good, service absent. the food andbeerare excellent. the problem is the semi-self serve format.
1. no silverware is provided unless requested, which can be difficult when crowded.
2. one napkin is provided, tucked under the serving tray. god help you if you need more, which is often since the burgers are very juicy (a good thing ruined).
3. no table service. you have to wait on line to order, you are given a number (hardee's style) and the food is brought to your table when ready. you are not asked if there's anything else since if you want to order something else, like desert, another appetizer, another beer, you have to wait on line again.
4. friday nights the place crowds up after 5:30pm. people who have ordered hover over tables staring at those eating, waiting to grab a table. very uncomfortable and creates a "get the hell out of here" attitude.

went here withbeerdrinkers and young kids and everyone was disappointed. the girl at the counter service was just rude. she made us feel as if we were inconveniencing her by expecting her to take our order. she didn't attempt to smile and when asked a question she would point at the menu rather than gracing us with her voice. the burgers were okay - not great. 5 guys have much better food and service. as forbeer- no one comes around to see if you want another, and we were so frustrated by the counter service that it wasn't worth asking for another. and a note for parents: the hot dogs are not kid appropriate. they taste like they've been salt cured and my kid wouldn't touch it (which is saying something)

locavore's delight. visiting from out of town, we followed the recommendation of a friend to try bcbb. we were very pleased with our meal. all of the beef is pasture raised and sourced from nc. the patties are so fat that it's a challenge to get your mouth around them and the bun. each person in my party built their own burger, selecting toppings from the menu. i especially liked the spicybeermustard. we also shared the very finely cut duck frites which were better than the dirty fries. the option to try flights of the locally brewedbeeris a great choice for choosybeerdrinkers like myself. i sampled the liberty summer amber ale, the pro bono publico porter, and the hsawaknow "chocolate beer." i liked the porter the best - smooth, creamy and luscious. we enjoyed the community style seating and found the restaurant very family friendly. there is even a toy play area for "futurebeerdrinkers." even on a sunday night, there was a steady stream of diners, and the bar was nearly full. considering that most of their inputs are locally sourced, the price was more than reasonable.

not worth the $$$$. and i do mean $$$.

the build your burger is a rip off. the taste of the burger was mediocre and i have nothing good to report on the food.

thebeerthere was fine the last few times i've gone so that might be a plus if your not hungry.

so far so good.. first off i have not tried any of main dishes. the only thing i ate were the bull nuts. i'll try out their burgers and vegan burger options later.

i initially went to bcbb after they closed for the day. the owners let us look around, chatted us up were simply pretty cool people. my friend told me they were nice another time he met them elsewhere. then i went in around 5 pm on a weekday. the bartender was very cool. i dont know much aboutbeernor do i drink it often and the bartender took the time to school me a bit. after sampling two beers and ordering one the bartender continuously came back to offer me samples of other beer. he treated the other bar drinkers the same.

i went back saturday night and the place was packed.

bull nuts - a bacony salty and sweet snack. they were an interesting treat that i'll try again.

beers - i can only that for the most part they were good.

i tried all of their beers and tried their bull nuts.

it'll do, sometimes. i have been here twice. first off, don't go to this place during the normal busy hours unless you are willing to risk sitting with boisterous, cursing 18-24 year olds. they come en masse and can wreck a relatively peaceful meal because of the communal seating. both times, the same person has taken my order, and both times they were as unhelpful as possible. thebeeris ok, the food is ok, but not worth putting up with the absence of any kind of service, not being acknowledged at the bar, and generally being moved in and out as quickly and with as little interaction as possible. i can only see myself coming here in a pinch.

i wish i could like this place. i'm a big fan of durham, durham restaurants and durham breweries so i want to like bull city b&b, but last night i was served a hotdog that could only be described as revolting. my husband had a burger that wasn't bad at all, but it was very small, especially for the price. i will say the fries andbeerare good.

go to mcdonalds! i love burgers, but these were terrible. about the size of a hockey puck. my girlfriend and i's burgers and fries came out wrong twice. thebeerwas good, but that was the only great thing. and i can't stress enough the word cold. the buns are stone cold, abd each of the toppings you order are cold. also i'm pretty sure they do not cook fresh. our fries & burgers came out way too fast to be fried and grilled to order. please save your time and taste buds and go to uptown burger or even mcdonalds.
