this is a fun, hip burger joint. the have their own brewery onsite and serve craft brew to match their burgers. their topping choice are through the roof. i ordered goat cheese, bacon marmalade and grilled onions. our friend order a hotdog with double bacon on it. they make their own hot dogs and was probably the best hot dog that i have ever had! very tender. they have regular fries, sweet potatoes fries (sprinkled with cinnamon sugar) and fries fried in duck fat. the duck fries are the best, hands down. also ask for a side of aioli to dip in. they offer unique deserts. the special for the night was homemade dill pickle ice cream. i had to try it. the pickle was very pronounced, not subtle at all. it was edible and am experience but i would not order again. find the rope on the column next to the window into the brewery. pull it to hear the cow moo! this is a self serve kind of place with no wait staff. go to bar to get drinks. go to back to order food. they bring to your table when ready. they also host many special events such ad beer dinners and nights with special, unusual burger meat (example i was told was rattle snake burger). great place. i would highly recommend.

...proudly serves pasture-raised beef at a reasonable price ($6.25/burger) in hopes of educating the public on the importance of good health through good food. they also brew their own beer, and the selection changes with the seasons. their nut brown is the best of the bunch (although not yet in season). the tastiest part of this stop was homemade pickle chips from cucumbers pickled on-location. they really are the best i have had, thin and light,...

disappointed. if you come, come only for the beer, not the food.. although the beer was fairly good, everything else fell terribly short. place was packed and understaffed. i ordered the pimento burger which comes with pimento cheese and pickled veggies - i also ordered mayo on the side. the size of my burger was much smaller than that of the bun. it was cooked correctly ("little pink"), but was highly over-seasoned and very dry - i'm talkin' 0% juiciness! the pickled veggies? two pieces of cauliflower sittin' on top of my burger. really? this was pathetic! i never received the side of mayo, even after asking for it twice. the duck frites were also a waste - unless you literally enjoy shoestring fries fried to a crisp. the glass of water i had to ask for finally came but only after i had completed my entire meal. maybe grab a beer here, but don't waste your appetite here.

a decent place to munch some burgers and enjoy some beverages.
this place has its own small brewery and it's seems to be a crowd favourite [guessing as it was jam packed].
sadly there are hardly any choices for veges or only chicken as they specialize in lamb and beef.
i had ordered a veg burger - only one which was available. though the patty inside was quite unique none that i have tried so far. it was crispy juicy and had different flavours with every bite. i guess a good try for someone looking for a veg burger. though my friend had tried the lamb burger and he wasn't left impressed. just ok doing its job.
overall a very routined kinda experience. would not say it's a must to go place when in downtown.
cheers!!

i really like this place. i've been few times. the beers are great and the food is always delicious and perfectly prepared.

that was until my last visit. we ordered two very different burgers, one over easy medium and a custom eggless burger done rare. rare burger was barely pink and the over easy was less well done, but still not rare. the lemonade tasted like watered-down sour mix. the puppy bites, supposesly hush puppies with minced hot dogs and a bit of spice simply weren't good. they weren't spicey, the, cornmeal was gritty, and the minced hot dogs infused them with that tell tale chemical aftertaste of low-quality hot dogs. the cayenne honey was good. the pickle chips were fantastic. however, we were told that the taragon mayo they come with tastes just like ranch. seriously? obviously, it didn't, but that's a good thing because it's wonderful.

not sure what's happened over the last few months, but it seems like somethings have been allowed to slide in recent months. in the hopes things improve, i'll be back. at the end of the day, them burgers are still delicious.

taking that first bite you first notice the crunch of the french fries and the amazing taste that came with it. in my panicked state i grabbed a waitress walking by and asked what these fries were she explained that they were duck frites and that they were freshly cut, fried in duck fat, and topped with rosemary and fleur de sel. what. the bacon was actually a bacon marmalade and gave the whole bite a sweet yet savory note that accompanied the burger freakn’ well. the cheese was gruyere, which i can’t say that i have had often, but reminded me a lot of how mozzerella tastes, and was a great choice that bound the burger together. rounding it all off was the accompanying over-easy egg (which i prefer mine to be over-medium) but the freshly baked bun soaked in the yoke and there was hardly any spillage. it added a nice base note to the whole experience.

this place is awesome! best burgers in nc. everything except for the ketchup is made from scratch with local products and they use pastured beef. is worth the drive.

everything is local and fresh! food was fantastic, freshly cooked to order, and taste was spectacular. i will say i did not go or order beer (not my thing). the house mustard was excellent and i loved the pickles too! since everything is local there was no tomatoes due to the season. i look forward to many more visits here!

i really wanted to like this place more than i actually did.    the burger was good but not great.  i get the whole farm to table and pasture-raised beef thing, and while that might make one feel better about what they're eating, i'm not sure that it really improves the taste in any way.

i like that this place grinds their own beef every day.  i don't know what cuts they're using, but i didn't taste anything necessarily special in the mix.  i might be imagining things, but i did sense a slight taste of worcestershire sauce in the meat.  not something i'm all too crazy about if they're adding it as a seasoning.   unless otherwise specified, the burgers come "a tad pink" .   mine was a bit more pink than that, but i was fine with the doneness.    the size of the burger was perhaps an ounce or so smaller than i would have hoped for.

the dirty fries are good and the duck fries are great - although i really wouldn't have minded a few more of them as they were $2 and $3 respectively as sparse sides.
