a decent place to munch someburgersand enjoy some beverages.
this place has its own small brewery and it's seems to be a crowd favourite [guessing as it was jam packed].
sadly there are hardly any choices for veges or only chicken as they specialize in lamb and beef.
i had ordered a veg burger - only one which was available. though the patty inside was quite unique none that i have tried so far. it was crispy juicy and had different flavours with every bite. i guess a good try for someone looking for a veg burger. though my friend had tried the lamb burger and he wasn't left impressed. just ok doing its job.
overall a very routined kinda experience. would not say it's a must to go place when in downtown.
cheers!!

i really like this place. i've been few times. the beers are great and the food is always delicious and perfectly prepared.

that was until my last visit. we ordered two very different burgers, one over easy medium and a custom eggless burger done rare. rare burger was barely pink and the over easy was less well done, but still not rare. the lemonade tasted like watered-down sour mix. the puppy bites, supposesly hush puppies with minced hot dogs and a bit of spice simply weren't good. they weren't spicey, the, cornmeal was gritty, and the minced hot dogs infused them with that tell tale chemical aftertaste of low-quality hot dogs. the cayenne honey was good. the pickle chips were fantastic. however, we were told that the taragon mayo they come with tastes just like ranch. seriously? obviously, it didn't, but that's a good thing because it's wonderful.

not sure what's happened over the last few months, but it seems like somethings have been allowed to slide in recent months. in the hopes things improve, i'll be back. at the end of the day, themburgersare still delicious.

i really wanted to like this place more than i actually did.    the burger was good but not great.  i get the whole farm to table and pasture-raised beef thing, and while that might make one feel better about what they're eating, i'm not sure that it really improves the taste in any way.

i like that this place grinds their own beef every day.  i don't know what cuts they're using, but i didn't taste anything necessarily special in the mix.  i might be imagining things, but i did sense a slight taste of worcestershire sauce in the meat.  not something i'm all too crazy about if they're adding it as a seasoning.   unless otherwise specified, theburgerscome "a tad pink" .   mine was a bit more pink than that, but i was fine with the doneness.    the size of the burger was perhaps an ounce or so smaller than i would have hoped for.

the dirty fries are good and the duck fries are great - although i really wouldn't have minded a few more of them as they were $2 and $3 respectively as sparse sides.

goodburgersgood beer and great vibe. traveling to duke, we asked a few students to recommend a good place for dinner. they were right on. we were greeted at the door by a very enthusiastic employee who filled us in on our options. we tried a fewburgersand sides.burgerswere not large but played bigger than they looked. very very good and quite juicy. sides were decent. had the lighter ale which was good.burgerswere the star of this show. would definitely return. place had an edgy vibe. order food, sit down and it will be brought to you. everything locally sourced, organic and fresh! grades out as an "a".

stay away. i will always give a place the 3 strike rule. i did this with bull city burger. they cannot seem to get twoburgersand two orders of fries correct for the third time.
when i pointed this out it took three people to come to the table asking what the problem was the 3rd the manger asked me to pay for the fries, really you made the mistake i gave him the 2 dollars and asked to speak with seth the owner. now i see where the staff get the the "tude" from. i will not go back! go some where else where your appreciated and problems are taken care and not get hounded for 2 bucks when they made the mistake. i hear he is opening a pizza joint i am sure the service will be the same......horrible at best!

food good, service absent. the food and beer are excellent. the problem is the semi-self serve format.
1. no silverware is provided unless requested, which can be difficult when crowded.
2. one napkin is provided, tucked under the serving tray. god help you if you need more, which is often since theburgersare very juicy (a good thing ruined).
3. no table service. you have to wait on line to order, you are given a number (hardee's style) and the food is brought to your table when ready. you are not asked if there's anything else since if you want to order something else, like desert, another appetizer, another beer, you have to wait on line again.
4. friday nights the place crowds up after 5:30pm. people who have ordered hover over tables staring at those eating, waiting to grab a table. very uncomfortable and creates a "get the hell out of here" attitude.

went here with beer drinkers and young kids and everyone was disappointed. the girl at the counter service was just rude. she made us feel as if we were inconveniencing her by expecting her to take our order. she didn't attempt to smile and when asked a question she would point at the menu rather than gracing us with her voice. theburgerswere okay - not great. 5 guys have much better food and service. as for beer - no one comes around to see if you want another, and we were so frustrated by the counter service that it wasn't worth asking for another. and a note for parents: the hot dogs are not kid appropriate. they taste like they've been salt cured and my kid wouldn't touch it (which is saying something)

confusing menu but decent. we are in town for a convention and stopped in here. it was pretty packed but we had service fast and got a table right away.

probably not relevant to most people but the menu is confusing if you're vegan or vegetarian and the staff is more confusing. although only one of theirburgersis vegan according to their cashier; many items on the menu that are clearly vegetarian are marked with the symbol normally used for vegan.

however, i do appreciate their is an option since the person i was eating with is not vegan and i'd hate to have nothing to eat. just wish it was more clearly marked is all :) overall a nice place. despite being packed the noise level was not bad either.

not worth the $$$$. and i do mean $$$.

the build your burger is a rip off. the taste of the burger was mediocre and i have nothing good to report on the food.

the beer there was fine the last few times i've gone so that might be a plus if your not hungry.

so far so good.. first off i have not tried any of main dishes. the only thing i ate were the bull nuts. i'll try out theirburgersand vegan burger options later.

i initially went to bcbb after they closed for the day. the owners let us look around, chatted us up were simply pretty cool people. my friend told me they were nice another time he met them elsewhere. then i went in around 5 pm on a weekday. the bartender was very cool. i dont know much about beer nor do i drink it often and the bartender took the time to school me a bit. after sampling two beers and ordering one the bartender continuously came back to offer me samples of other beer. he treated the other bar drinkers the same.

i went back saturday night and the place was packed.

bull nuts - a bacony salty and sweet snack. they were an interesting treat that i'll try again.

beers - i can only that for the most part they were good.

i tried all of their beers and tried their bull nuts.

good veggie burger. i had the joan jett veggie burger which is a 3 bean veggie patty--not too shabby. it was better than most veggie patties i've had, but not quite the best. i would highly recommend it. the one thing i noticed about this place is the burger patties are thick, they aren't extremely large in circumference, but they are thick. the rest of the family hadburgerswhich they really liked. theburgersare cooked medium so if you like them well done make sure you request it. we also had the duck frites and sweet potato fries. the duck frites were good, but really thin, like a phone charger cord thin. the sweet potato fries had sugar and cinnamon on them. that made them a little too sweet for my taste, but that didn't stop me from eating them. overall, it was one of the better places we ate on this trip. i would recommend it.

the healthiest and best burger in the us. i am normally not much of a burger guy, but my friends took me to this place and i must admit, this is for sure the best burger and guaranteed the healthiest (if that exists) burger in the us, i travel a lot for work and have to do quick snacks frequently, so i think i have had enoughburgersto be able to compare. the meat is from pasture raised cows, organic vegetables, even the ketchup has no hfc and the soda is all natural. really yummy

go to mcdonalds! i love burgers, but these were terrible. about the size of a hockey puck. my girlfriend and i'sburgersand fries came out wrong twice. the beer was good, but that was the only great thing. and i can't stress enough the word cold. the buns are stone cold, abd each of the toppings you order are cold. also i'm pretty sure they do not cook fresh. our fries &burgerscame out way too fast to be fried and grilled to order. please save your time and taste buds and go to uptown burger or even mcdonalds.

excellent staff, food & beer. i love bull city burger & brewery. this place is further proof that keeping it simple is the recipe for success. i've been there three times and each time i've been as impressed with the quality of bcbb's uber friendly staff as much as theburgersand beer. keep up the good work!
