last table in restaurant. we came to bruno's on mothers day. we were the last table in the restaurant, and everything from the wine to food to ourwaitermichael was divine. michael did not rush us he chose the wine for us, and bruno came out to talk to us, as we were the last table in the restaurant, ourwaitermade it clear to us that the restaurant strives on great food and service and bruno's made us customers forever.

not good. last nights meal
clam chowder - it must have been made with skim milk because it was so thin.
chicken marsala - road ready, the chicken was so tough that while cutting it with a knife (usually not necessary) i moved the table.
the shrimp in my wife's dinner must have been delivered 3 weeks ago.

to top it off thewaitercharged us for 2 bottles of wine. his explanation - the #2 key gets stuck - why would he press the key if only one bottle was ordered.

worstwaiterever. went last weekend with the intent of seeing a movie afterwards...645 reservation and a 915 movie basically across the street. the wife and i are sat and i are sat and our wait comes over and with a heavy accent says "i am nino and i'm your waiter":...seemed very nice. comes back five minutes later and takes our wine order and roughly ten minutes later returns with our wine. he goes over the specials and his accent was so thick you could only understand every fourth or fifth word (we had anotherwaitergo over them again for us). he comes back several minutes later with menus. he comes back about ten minutes later and takes our orders....we each got a salad, i got the halibut special and she got the filet. salads were both good and rather large potions. empty plates sat on our table for probably 15 minutes until anotherwaitercleared them. when we finally see nino we inform him of our movie plans. finally when our entrees arrive probably 45 minutes after our salads, the steak was overcooked and the halibut was of golden corral quality. nino never checked in to see if they were okay. someone clears our plates and we wait a couple of minutes...no nino. so we ask anotherwaiterto "grab our waiter" and he responds "nino?" and shakes his head...he already knew....like it happens all the time....nino returns!!!! we ask for the check...five minutes.....he drops check...disappears, again....eventually anotherwaitertakes our check and track down nino.
long story, short: a casual dinner turns in three hours, the table next to us went from empty to sat to empty to sat to empty in the time we were there....

one last comment -- the prices are extremely reasonable for the excellent quality of food.

i'm back. i just want to add to my review that all of our dinners were excellent. three of us had the sea bass over risotto. it was perfectly prepared.

we had a great dinner with great service. ourwaiterwas very courteous and helpful. our entire group ordered appetizers. i ordered the escargot and they were amazing. i was a little disappointed in the fact that we had made arrangements for a private room. i had called two days before and the chef/owner had confirmed the room. however, when we arrived the hostess blamed the owner for not taking a proper reservation and told us we could not have the private room. i had planned this especially for my mothers 70th birthday. it was extremely disappointing considering i had confirmed the reservation.

always delighted. my husband and i had dinner at bruno over the weekend and again another great meal but even better is the service. our waitress was exceptional and so helpful and caring, not only to us but to tables that were not even hers. she was asked by anotherwaiterto speak to his table next to us about a wine recommendation. they were equally as charmed by tracy as we were. her repore with his table was as caring as if it was her own. she made my mother-in-law's evening by being so helpful with her dinner selection as she is on a special diet and followed up immediately to make sure her selection was prepared as she requested. my husband noted how high maintenance some of your clientele can be from the moment we came in, we had to wait to be seated because people at the door were requesting a specific table (that was already seated with customers!). tracy made us feel so welcome and even though the restaurant was busy we never felt rushed or like any of my mother-in-laws numerous requests were any problem. the food is obviously important and her knowledge of the menu was flawless, she was able to tweak a menu item so that it my mother-in-law could have what she wanted, and she can be very hard to please. she commented it was the best service she has had in years. bruno is quite lucky to have the mature professional staff he has and that is a huge part of what keeps us coming back again and again.

wait staff disapointing. i have dined at brunos several times and always had the same concerns. the food is excellent, atmosphere upscale and service slow and poor. took my daughter for her birthday last night. started fine we were introduced to thewaiterwho took our drink order, we were about finished with the drinks when we got the menu. when we ordered, they were out of veal, so we had to revisit our choices. the wait for the food was very long, ourwaiterpassed our table several times and didn't even look our way..drink glasses were empty. he did stop once to tell us that a side we ordered was out so we ordered a different one. finally the order came--no side. it came just as we were about finished, placed on the table with no comment. the wait staff appears to be attentive, but not tuned in to the diners needs. when the bill came, we promptly produced payment and waited a long time for it to be picked up. again thewaiterpassed our table several times without a glance. i'll go there again for a special dinner, but not for the service.

not what i expected. this was our first time to bruno. it was myself, a co-worker, and our customer. i ordered the new york classic delmonico med-rare. it was delivered to the table medium to med-well....closer to med-well. when i notified the server, his first comment was "oh yes, it's over cooked." as if he knew. i told him to scracth the ribeye and have the kitchen cook the 7oz filet mid-rare instead. it came out just fine, flavor was good, etc.

after the steaks were gone and our table was cleared, all three of us ordered coffee - no dessert. we finish our coffee's and 30+ minutes goes by....no one stops by, not our waiter, not the manager, not another waiter. what bothered me is the the manager/owner never came by to ensure the second steak was cooked properly or if he/she could get anything else for us even after we finished our meal. once the check was delivered, ourwaiterdidn't say a word....a simple "sorry about your steak, we went ahead and took care of it." would have sufficed. nothing!

i've worked in the food industry for many years. i understand service can be spotty sometimes, the kitchen can screw things up, etc....but the manager knew the steak was over cooked (because they removed it from the bill...which was the right thing to do). but to never visit the table and personally apologize....at a restaurant with this atmosphere, chargning this price, etc...i would have at least expected a visit.

i've never written a review before, but this visit to bruno's i guess just really got under my skin. i didn't feel compelled to speak to a manager that night because we were with a customer. but needless to say, i won't be going back to bruno next time i'm in the area.

wow!!!. totally blown away by the food, ambiance, and service. our family's table for eight was not the easiest to please, but our extremely professionalwaiterhandled us all with class. the food was outstanding, and having eaten in some great establishments across the usa and europe, i was impressed. i will return, and introduce some new friends to this elegant diamond in wake forest.

disappointed. i like my steak chared on the outside and really rare inside. an inexpensive chain steak house can do, why couldn't bruno? thewaiterknew exactly what i wanted and when it was served he looked at it and said "this isn't what you wanted." and that was it. no insisting to bring me a new one, no offer to replace it or an offering of an after dinner drink. nothing. the fingerling potatoes were hard and the string bean tasteless. i'd sooner go back to the inexpensive steak chain and get what i requested. i've been to peter luger's in ny and this is by no means of that caliber.

great meal...except for the waiter. my hubby and i went last week after a couple of friends recommended bruno's to us. he had the filet and i had a bourbon cream pasta and both were great. ourwaiterwas very knowledgeable however he wouldn't leave our table...so instead of a romantic anniversary dinner we got to listen to him. when he finally did leave it must have been to smoke half a pack of cigarettes because when he returned that is all i could smell. the smell killed the experience for me...but the leftovers made a great lunch the following day.

the food was great and we will definately go back, i just hope we get a different waiter.

wonderful evening. everything from the initial greeting, the attentetivness of ourwaiter(on a night in which the health inspectors were there and were likely slowing things down), and the food/wine were fantastic.

for starters, we shared the clams casino and the mussels-- both were delicious. my wife's wedge salad was to her liking and the bread was real italian bread. the wine selection, while moderate in size, is appropriate and priced reasonably.

now the entrees- my wife's ribeye melted in the mouth. i was lucky to get a bite. delicious. my veal scalopini was average. my daughter ordered the seafood alfredo-- with shrimp, crab and scallops and holy shmoly-- that was divine. i am ordering that next time. the best seafood pasta dish i've ever had (i've eaten at some of the best restaurants in chicago, philadelphia, etc).

desserts were great too-- some kind of chocalate cake with moose. yum.

the prices were good for what you get. they do serve a vegetable with the meats. we enjoyed this a lot more than sullivan's or angus barn. hope to go back soon.

i took my wife and two guests to this restaurant for her birthday. it was very very disappointing! i ordered a kobe steak rare and it was thin and over cooked. thewaiterwas even embarrassed. 3 out of the four meals were over cooked (steaks) or under cooked(scallops). the service was very slow. after sending my meal back and going without dinner you would think someone would come out and speak to you.... think again. no one seemed to care. the sad thing is we will remember that birthday meal as the worst ever!

divine dining. this was our first visit to bruno. was recommended by my wonderful butcher anthony from davinci's who is a mad foodie and obsessed with quality. the service was very attentive without being overbearing. knowledgeablewaiterand delightful hostess. we were in love with our dinner. here's a rundown of what we ordered:
bourbon rigatoni - blackened chicken, roasted tomatoes & bourbon cream sauce. i don't even want to know the calorie count but i'd go to the gym daily to have just a bite. it was amazing!
filet mignon - perfectly cooked with green beans and fingerlings. nice that you don't have to order sides a-la-carte.
tilapia in white wine butter sauce - this was divine. light and delicate
it's so wonderful to have a fine dining experience in wake forest and now we don't have to go to north hills for every celebratory meal. only wish they had better view.
