bruno restaurant

culinary masterpiece. as a frequent bruno patron, i was again delighted by the delicious meal last night. my husband and children took me out for mother's day (since i will be working on sun). we just couldnt decide on what to eat so we just ordered a few meals and placed them on the center of the beautiful-linened table. the halibut was perfectly done, the soft shell crab-(one of my all-time favorite foods) was the best ever!! the grouper was over the top tasty. i couldnt have had a better meal anywhere. the desserts are a whole other gastronomic experience. the creme brulee is the only crreme brulee i will eat. the chocolate and strawberry gelato with a cherry in the middle encased by dark chocolate was decadent. the waiter, damien was very patient with our indecision of ordering our drinks. the bartender, jimmy made an awesome expresso martini. this was by far the best meal and atmosphere i have ever eaten!! we eat out alot and all over the usa , seeking the best foods that part of the country has to offer. i am grateful to live so close to bruno restaurant. i dont know how bruno could top last nights experience. thanks bruno for another perfect meal. your personal care to the meals served is very much appreciated.

thank you for opening up near my home. thank you for giving my taste buds joy. thank you for bringing my family even closer together. thank you for all the wonderful meals (grouper special-yum, gnocchi and blue cheese-addictive, the pasta fagiole-mouth watering, the cajun calamari-omg-the onlyplacei will eat it) thank you jimmy, the best bartender who reccommends great wine to go with your food. thank you bruno for your warmth, gracious hospitality, and eagerness to please a fussy palate. it doesnt get better than this. i am a tough critic and absolutely love this place. we appreciate everything you have done to make this our place. i have met wonderful, friendly people here. i feel fortunate to call thisplaceour favoriteplaceto eat. life at its best!! thank you bruno-love ya!! wonderful birthday dinner!. my husband and i decided to try a newplacethat we had never eaten at before for my birthday in february. we chose bruno. we were not disappointed! we enjoyed it so much i have decided to surprise my husband for his birthday this saturday for another wonderful dinner. we so enjoyed the food, wine and service. i would recommend the seafood alfredo and any steak. no complaints. can't wait to visit again!!

great food!. bruno is a wonderful restaurant with an attractive fine dining experience. i have dined at bruno several times and each time i have had nothing but positive things to say about the food and service. each and every time i have eaten at bruno, the food has been out of this world! also, the restaurant and its bathrooms are always very clean. it truly is theplaceto go for great seafood. bruno is perfect for celebrating a special occasion or for a niceplaceto go on a date.

we enjoy going to bruno's not just for the amazing food but for the personality of the bartender, jimmy! bruno serves the best food and jimmy serves the best drinks. he always picks the best drinks to go w/ my meal, i trust him. he is charismatic and makes the bar theplaceto go anytime they are open!! the wait staff and hostess are warm, intelligent, kind people. no wonder it received best new restaurant 2011. great combo of best chef and bartender!!

good food/bad behavior by diner. were in their last night when an intense argument broke out between two older women. the language was incredibly offensive and managment did nothing to stop the event. one family with small children had to leave. we finished our dinner, but is questionable whether or not we'll be back. the service is always fabulous -- love, love dan & tracy; and the food is consistently good. but, if management can't or won't step in when something happens, then i doubt it will be aplacethat we revisit.

wonderful surprise. on a business trip, we were recommended by the holiday inn express in wake forest to try out bruno's - about a 7 minute walk away.

what an unexpected delight! my colleague and i indulged in a bottle of brunello di montalcino because the price was a deal better than in milano, and the food surely matched - starting with oysters rockefeller, proceeding to lobster bisque, main course mahi-mahi tuscan style and rounded off with a chocolate based dessert and sambuca.

not the cheapestplacebut outstanding service from server adam and excellent value for the quality - which was right up there with tribeca.

just flew in from ny to visit my family, they took me to bruno's to dine and i was blown away! the food was excellent! and the wait staff was top notch. it felt like i was in a ny restaurant. for the appetizer i ordered a crab cake and for dinner the delmonico steak. i was very impressed, the prices were very reasonable and the portions were just right. i highly recommend thisplaceif you're in the wake forest area. this was my first time here and it defiantly won't be my last!

seems we're not the only ones. we have eaten at bruno before and enjoyed it, so we returned with 2 other couples on the evening of 1-21-12, willingly. we had reservations for 6:30. our waitress did a nice job (even though she brought the wrong salad out for one in our party) and no one complained about the food... we thought it all very good. but like the previous review, after appetizers, wine, salads, entrees, and dessert, we were asked to give up our table because it was needed. i have eaten at all kinds of places in my 44 years from 5 star to hole in the walls, but have never been asked to leave a table. i waited tables in college and would have been fired, i'm sure, if i would have even suggested it to a group. if you are looking for a nice leisurely dinner with friends or just a romantic dinner for two... this might not be theplacefor you.

why did it take me so long to find this place!. whew...i was nearby and happened upon this restaurant. after a truly miserable day they turned it around and then some. the wine list is nice and small and has some terrific wines. one of the specials was a tuscan style grouper. i ordered it looking at the chefs window a lot noticing the nice looking and large portions coming out. the grouper came out with proscuitto and a white beans with a few clams and shrimp. the sauce was light and nicely complimented the grouper. nothing overwhelmed anything else nor were theere a lot of competing flavors. when the actual bar cleared i sat there having a great conversation with the bar manager jimmy and the owner bruno. we chatted about everything from where to source the incredible seafood he buys to ending with a little sheeps milk cheese from croatia that was truly over the top! i am huge fan of thisplaceand everyone in it. finallly great seafood, servers that are professionals and an owner that know what's important. when i read the negative reviews i can not help but notice they join, give a bad review then never review another place. that tells me most of the bad reviews are ex-employees or competitors.

stopped by today to purchase a gift card for a very prominent college coach in the raleigh area. the manager came back with a wrinkled, stained piece of paper. i refused to accept it and they simply said " sorry, it's the only one we have". the owner made no attempt to find an alternative to that so called gift card. the obviously have no class. stay away.

i had heard good things about bruno, wake forest (wakefield) . i have a dear friend who is also the head coach at a prominent university in the raleigh area. he did me a big favor recently, and i wanted to thank him for the favor... so, i decided to give him a gift card from what i thought to be a classy restaurant. i stopped by there today to purchase the card.... they came back with a wrinkled, stained piece of paper that i would be ashamed to present to anyone. i asked if they could give me a presentable card to give to a good friend, and they said it was the only one they had. not only that, but the manager as well as bruno himself simply said " sorry, it's the only one we have". they made no attempt to find a solution for someone wanting to purchase a $100.00 gift card. you all may think this to be a petty complaint, but i shall never set foot in theplaceagain. a very classless establishment.

wow! finally we have a great restaurant up here in the north north part of raleigh. took all three kids - right after a cruise that they explored the finer things of cuisine- and we left bruno with another great memory. the grilled romaine caesar salad has my heart, and the kind and competent wait staff was more than we could have asked for. only grip: it needs background music. we were in a small room with a couple at a two top, and my man and i felt bad that we were sharing this experience with them so close. so, ask not to be in that side room, if you want a view/ambiance. food wise: really, there is nothing that compares to this restaurant within 15 true traffic minutes. hope thisplacestays true to it's initial start- and continues to demand excellence from the kitchen. time will tell, but for now, make a reservation (u need it) and order the fillet!!

looks are deceiving. we just tried bruno's for the first time tonight. we were very impressed with the service which was very attentive and accommodating. the decor was simple and elegant. other diners were dressed casually from nice shorts or jeans to some women wearing dresses. the wine menu was comprehensive and offered many great wines. however, bruno's fell far short in the quality of the food. we ordered the caprese salad, the filet mignon, the seared tuna, and a chocolate truffle pie. the salad was tasty, although a bit short on the balsamic vinaigrette. the filet was burnt and crispy and had a charred taste except for a small portion. the tuna which was covered in sesame seeds was even more burnt. if i was the owner, i'd certainly be very embarrassed that such poor quality was even attempted to be served. would i recommend this place? probably not when we spent over $140 and neither of us were remotely pleased with either entree. there are many other places in north raleigh and the wake forest area that has far higher food quality with a lower price point. we enjoy good food and will spend the money for it...but thisplacedoesn't offer what we would expect.

great quaint place. the food was good and the service was ok. it took us awhile to get our food but our bartender was very attentive and kept checking up on us. glad to have aplacethat has good food in the wake forest area.
