not what i expected. this was our firsttimeto bruno. it was myself, a co-worker, and our customer. i ordered the new york classic delmonico med-rare. it was delivered to the table medium to med-well....closer to med-well. when i notified the server, his first comment was "oh yes, it's over cooked." as if he knew. i told him to scracth the ribeye and have the kitchen cook the 7oz filet mid-rare instead. it came out just fine, flavor was good, etc.
after the steaks were gone and our table was cleared, all three of us ordered coffee - no dessert. we finish our coffee's and 30+ minutes goes by....no one stops by, not our waiter, not the manager, not another waiter. what bothered me is the the manager/owner never came by to ensure the second steak was cooked properly or if he/she could get anything else for us even after we finished our meal. once the check was delivered, our waiter didn't say a word....a simple "sorry about your steak, we went ahead and took care of it." would have sufficed. nothing!
i've worked in the food industry for many years. i understand service can be spotty sometimes, the kitchen can screw things up, etc....but the manager knew the steak was over cooked (because they removed it from the bill...which was the right thing to do). but to never visit the table and personally apologize....at a restaurant with this atmosphere, chargning this price, etc...i would have at least expected a visit.
i've never written a review before, but this visit to bruno's i guess just really got under my skin. i didn't feel compelled to speak to a manager that night because we were with a customer. but needless to say, i won't be going back to bruno nexttimei'm in the area.
