this assamese delicacy, maasor pitika, is one of my personal favourites with rice.

my tastebuds say- 4.5/5

this is only one yummilicious item from bhut jolokia's menu, they've got loads of others like chicken khorikaa (fire-roasted chicken), duck meat , veg-nonvegthalis, etc. one of the best restaurants in #guwahati for assamese cuisine, and a must try for visitors wanting to taste local food in assam.

this is a treasure island for meat lovers. pigeon on black pepper, roasted duck, pork with sesame seeds and bamboo shoot. absolutely mouthwatering. the servings are big enough. sprinkle some local bamboo pickle with large servings of bhut jalakiya and it's heaven. i've had nonvegfood across india but my hometown has possibly now the best selection of exotic meat. if you hate chicken, you must come here.

i just love their thali. it feels like home cooked and quite hygienic. yesterday too i ordered a nonvegthali. rest items were good but the pork curry was so spicy that i could not even taste half of it. taste wise bhut jolokia is best for assamese thali.

i went out for lunch with my family to this ethnic restaurant today that serves a wide range of fish/pigeon/chicken (both local and broiler) cuisines. we orderedvegakhajs (thali) and chicken boiler curry with potatoes. the chicken curry dish was delicious and the thali was decent. the prices were reasonable too.

the menu book is all torn and pages fall out of it. so you can guess the quality of the restaurant. nonvegthali comes for ₹ 290 excluding taxes with just one nonvegitem and most ala carte items in the range of ₹ 300-400. the food is average with poor quality rice in the thali. half of the items mentioned in the menu are not available including pigeon. apart from in the name "bhut jolokia ", you wont find bhut jolokia anywhere in the restaurant. ambience is little unique which i kind of liked.

amazing thali and great ambience. we orderedvegthalis and a plate of pork fry. the pork fry was, hands down, the best pork dish i have ever had. great job.

"bhut jolokia" loved the name of this restaurant. one of the best restaurants for assamese ethnic dishes. the quality of the food will not disappoint you. we triedvegthali with "alu diya kukura mangkho" and "til diya gahori mangkho" (prok with sesame seeds). oh! thevegthali and the chicken was awesome. but need improvement in pork 😥.

neat and clean...
if you are habitual with comfortable rest room sorry boss...it is congested...
i have ordered nonvegakhaj with pork and pork with lai patta ( vegetable mustard) but they have served me only pork with vegetable mustard
after that i have changed my order nonvegakhaj with fish... with pork lai patta...
pork with lai patta not up to the mark...
fish with tenga (sour) also okay okay type...
need to be improve in service...
service is not listening to guest properly...by the time of order....

very slow service.. food can be made a little more spicy as per the name..
orderedvegthali and chicken with sesame seeds.. chicken item can be made more spicy.. a bit disappointed

this is a place to eat assamese food. you can getvegand nonvegthalis here. they and diff dishes here but trying thali and pork with til is the best.

ambience was ok. we ordered forvegthalis, fish curry and pork dry fry and food was good. though the fish thali mentions of rohu fish, they instead serve some other fish and not rohu even though its available.

i have heard about this restaurant so in puja i gave it a try. ordered rice,dal,mixedvegfry and chicken.. first we waited for nearly an hour to receive our order's as they were confused to whom they should give it first. the food was not upto the mark. the mixedvegwas terrible. potato was not even fully boiled. rice n dal was good and the chicken was ok type. 5 piece of chicken cost 300 rs.. that was not justified with the taste. the bill arrived b4 finishing our food n we were like wtf?? so it's ur choice 2 visit but from my side it's a big no.

very very poor service...we orderedvegthalis but the service was too late....staff is not at all attentive...food is well ...not up to the mark ...overall bad experience...

a visit to this ethnic restaurant during bohag bihu left me with mixed feelings... me and my friend decided to try this one after having tried almost all other ethnic outlets in the city...
nothing sort of welcoming decoration on bihu disappointed me... after we sat down we noticed only one waiter was serving all the tables... we opted for 2vegakhaj along with chicken with sesame seeds, duck with gourd and small fish steamed in banana leaf.. however we were told that the latter 2 dishes were not available...
we had to be confined with duck with potato curry and skipped the fish section... serving was ok but i felt the use of plastic dishes in an ethnic restaurant was something to be looked into...
the chicken and duck dishes tasted great but thevegthalis had nothing special and the mixedvegtasted horrible... moreover the complimentary kharoli and kahoodi were missing...

i have seen a lot of criticism for this food court but i believe this is one of the best restaurants serving assamese platter. we hadvegthali which was completely worth its cost. also the chicken aloo recipe was sumptuous for a hungry tummy. in terms of hospitality, the place stands good. overall, a very pocket friendly of the ethnic serving restaurants.
