tucked away right in the corner of the most beautiful 44 stanley is a roastery which smells divine. it's a dedicated coffee shop serving fair trade coffee from around the world. each day presents you with a different, mouth-watering blend which is sure to satiate you. you can taste that it's of a really high quality. the set up in modern and clean and is a great place to just chill out with a coffee before you explore the rest of 44 stanley. they only really serve beverages so if you are hungry, take a walk around. it really is just a must try.

went exploring and found this little gem and wow am i amazed. perfect little spot to just chill out. small and quiet. there's free wifi and you get a lil welcome gift (a badge thingy) which is pretty cool. the coffee is amazing. service is great and the goodies are definitely something to try out :)

if you want an education in coffee, then this is a must visit spot for you!! bean there coffee places an emphasis on coffee being an actual experience with no compromise on the quality of their optimally roasted and certified fairtrade coffee.  *recommendation: try out their coffee tasting menu if you have a bit of time as it really is something special!

bean there has to be one of the best coffee houses in south africa. with its origins in 44 stanley, i spent a considerable amount of time as a student meeting friends or taking a break from studying, enjoying the fresh coffee aromas.

since this time, bean there has exploded into a coffee empire (of sorts). their coffee is now freely available all over the country. they have opened an incredibly roastery in cape town. and their growth is fully justified. bean there isn’t just about offering you the perfectly roasted bean, expertly ground and skilfully brewed, there guys are passionate about the coffee, about the trade, about the people and about the future. they want to ensure we are able keep enjoying this coffee for the foreseeable future, and in some way that just makes the coffee taste a little better.

while bean there does offer a small selection of pasties and biscuits, you aren’t here for the treats, you visit bean there for the coffee, for the beautiful smell, the authentic experience, and the great vibe.

best coffee around! huge variety of different beans and filter coffee methods, incredible cappuccinos. the baristas at both this outlet and the one in braamfontein are extremely well informed and are friendly! i've loved this place, since day one. never a disappointment.

this has got to be the very very best coffee in jhb. the shop offers a simple unpretentious space in which to meet and drink awesome coffee. there's little else on offer (lovely cakes and cookies to accompany the coffee), it's pretty much just coffee. awesome coffee. the best coffee. amidst the seductive smell of roasting coffee beans. yum!

bean there coffee, in my opinion is of the best in the country! this specific shop has the roastery that supplies and roasts all the beans that are sold to other coffee shops that use bean there coffee. it's a beautifully, contemporary shop which is nice and quaint! perfect for a business meeting which there were plenty of and a coffee date with friends. unique and trendy will be returning.

i like coffee, i dont drink it all the time, im no barista and i cant tell you if the coffee im drinking was grown in the 4th valley on the 12th tree in some ethiopian coffee plantation or if its stemmed from the poo of fruitbats but... i like coffee and i try go to quite a number of small coffee shops for the experience and their brands.

now... if you are hunting for the best coffee in joburg...several people i know including baristas have said this is the place to go, so try it out..
to me and bear in mind this is very subjective, the coffee is amazing, incredible.... but not my favorite.
i do love 44 stanley though, so location is a factor that keeps pulling me back and the smell in a coffee shop is always enough to raise a smile.

the scent of coffee beans entice you as you wandering through 44 on stanley. this tucked away coffe shop is warm and welcoming.

all their coffee is acquired through fair trade and is purely africa coffee.

i enjoy this space for a quick chat with a friend on the way to work or somewhere to catch up with work. the decor of the place, plays a big part for me and the quirky bicycle on the wall and other little details adds to the ambiance of the space.

if you feeling peckish grab a bite from one of the spaces around the store.

for genuine coffee lovers

what a friendly little coffee shop had an africano and the person i was with got a pícolo. the coffee is pretty good with option to get your own beans to take home and get even more addicted to coffee. the vibe is great their home made cakes (cheese and carrot are divine) definitely a gem little coffee place worth the visit.

beautiful little coffee shop run by really amazing staff. great coffee and light snacks. awesome for a quick stop or a long work session. excellent service.

super fast & friendly service.
however the outside seats aren’t so lovely cause there’s a toilet that faces the tables & the odour is unpleasant.

a cozy little spot in the corner of 44 standley. very chic decor and vibe. the baristas are on their a-game. fantastic coffee and recommendations from the baristas. pity the place isn't really big and cater for more seating. if you are looking for food, this isn't the right place for you. they do have some delightful nibbles with your coffee.

by far the best coffee shop in joburg. simphiwe and thabo are, by my reckoning at least, the best baristas around.

i love that you get to choose your coffee at this shop - the drc bean is my favourite!
