it took awhile for me to try this place because, word is, it's always packed and parking can be tricky. if you are afraid of the crowd, consider going on a sunday past conventional lunch hour. the interiors and outdoor area are airy and tastefully-designed. it's hip without being intimidating. price-wise, it also hit a sweet spot. paid only php1,700+ for 5-6 dishes and 4 juices. taste-wise, it is good. i just wish the plates were served warm (the chicken with rice and cumin fries was reheated, we supposed). quite disappointed with the cream pesto pasta but that should not stop you from trying balai.
