good italian. it's been a while since i've been here and not sure why! i love the pizza here. the medium size pizza is about 8 slices but the slices themselves are good size, depending on how it's cut. i also had the prosciutto balls and those were great as well. everything was fresh and tasty. clean restaurant too.

consistently super!. everytime i'm in kansas city, i try to swing by and catch a meal. the food is consistently good, especially my favs - pizza and generous salads.

my sister used to live in mission and the stromboli was her favorite. i wouldn't hesitate to try other menu items here but i always go to my favorites!

best value in town. if you want a romantic candlelit italian dinner with a big wine list, go somewhere else. this is the best place in kc for tasty, fresh italian fare at a fair price. the friday specials are superb... timpano, spinach lasagna, calamari, rigatoni ala vodka, tilapia. after a few trips, you'll start recognizing the legions of regulars... the sign of a successful restaurant. when i give the owner feedback, he always listens and thanks me for my business. a nice family place that you will visit many times!

customer service!. i wish that if someone had a problem they would simply ask to speak to me, john avelluto or james avelluto, we are the owners. in response to erika, the way we do calzones has changed a little of a year ago, and as a result we sell twice as many more. we are also able to provide a fresher product.i would like to know who was rude to you,and what time and day this event happened. food service is not always an easy job,sometimes even the most level headed person can get their feathers ruffled.

awesome! driving through from oklahoma and found this from urbanspoon pizza was awesome crust just right and generous toppings salad very good! don't miss it!

best italian food in kc. i eat at this restaurant all the time. hands down this is the best italian food in kc and at reasonable prices. i travel all over the us and nobody has lasagna as good as theirs, nobody. if you're lucky, you'll happen to visit when they have one of their specialty dishes available. tonight was a yummy rice ball packed with very tender beef, cheeses, rice, and all sorts of yummy stuff. if that isn't enough, it's served on a bed of spicy zesty sauce and peas. this is the first time i've had that and i just couldn't believe how good it was. you won't be sorry if you try this restaurant.

great food, horrible customer service. i have always and will continue to go here because i love the food. but they need some lessons in not being rude to customers. especially when they have made a calzone the same way since i was a kid (i'm now in my 30's), then all of a sudden change it suddenly and the way you are suppose to order it. they were soooooo rude to my husband, it was ridiculous but we didn't want to cause a huge scene.

a tradition!. avellutos has been around for ever and there is a reason for that. its kind of like a cafeteria with lots of great hot dishes ready to eat. their secret is just simple, fresh italian food. fantastic meatballs and some of the best pizza in town! i wish we hadnt been so stuffed as i still havent had a chance to try out their sausage rolls which are one of their specialties and look amazing.
dont expect anything fancy, just expect great food!

man do i love this place best ny style pizza in town, the stromboli is to die for as is the eggplant parmesan, and don't leave without trying the sausage and peppers

very good pizza. my three sons and i stopped in for a large 'delight' pizza: the delight is their version of a supreme or deluxe. a bunch of meat and veggies.

we darn near killed that whole pie.

their version departed from the norm in that they offered both black and green olives in the veggie melange. a little bit of delicate sauce, a bunch of toppings and cheese, and a new york style crust that was a little thicker than the foldable slices you would find out east. a good thing, too, as it needed to be more stout to hold all of the toppings involved.

compared to another 5 rated pie, 'the luigi' at bob & luigi's in bel aire wichita, the topping quality is right on par, with less grease and a more authentic crust. good stuff that is definitely worth a go.

so glad we made the trek here. visiting kc, we wanted to find a good local italian place, and italian delight proved to be perfectly named! among our party we tried the spaghetti with meatballs, chicken parm with mostaccioli, veal park with spaghetti and a slice of cheese pizza - so a decent cross-section of the menu. the pastas were cooked perfectly al dente, the marinara was a good representation of italy (not overly sweet, not overly seasoned), the chicken and veal were very well prepared, and the pizza was the perfect combination of crunch and chew. highly enjoyable, highly recommended.

why is it that everytime i order dinner here, they never give me bread & butter with my meal? other people get theirs. i called them about it one time, and they still fail to do it.

i've been going here since we moved here in 1986. one of my all time favorites. everything is good. i suggest you try the strombolis, the veal parm, and the pizza. all the lunch specials are great as well.

ran in tonight for a quick dinner. we will not be going back. the red sauce was bland and watery, we had to send back my husbands lasagna because it was still frozen in the middle, they brought it back in less then 5 minutes, obviously microwaved. i had the veal parm with spaghetti and i can buy the same veal patties in the freezer section at aldi. to top it all off, we both got sick about 30 minutes after we got home. nope, never again.
