the first time i had it i didn't care for it. what can i say, i was raised without taste buds. now i eat there just about every week. great pizza, pasta, stromboli, salads... a little confusing to order until you get used to it. not sure what every one is talking about about rude service, i've always had great service there.

i love it.. i eat at avelluto's almost daily. i love all their food, but recently i've been ordering their large house salad. it has crisp lettuce, red onions, tomatoes,oil and vinegar dressing, and wonderful seasonings. i also love their rollatini, which is only served on wednesdays, as well as their eggplant pizza, which is also only available on wednesdays.

450 votes and 92% like this place?!? recently moved to kc - have tried dozens of places around town - i'm convinced that kc folks have been subjected to bad food/service/prices for so long that no review by locals can be trusted. this place was a joke - bread came stale, right out of a bag, salad wad lettuce and tomatoes drowned in cheap olive oil and vinegar - pasta was overcooked, red sauce was right out of a bottle, atmosphere was the best that vinyl can buy (floor, tablecloth, chairs...) i freakin' give up - no longer going to read local reviews - will stay home or fly to chicago or dallas for a good meal. am i missing something here??? any local folks that "feel my pain" please provide guidance...

yummy and good prices. the pizza, the stromboli, the spag, and the salads are all wonderful! good food, quick, hot, and value for your dollar.
it's not really about service at this place,
we often call in large to go orders if we are having get-togethers at home and need to feed a crowd. avelluto's always pleases the group.
i've been eating avelluto's since i was a child (at the indian springs location) and now i love to drop in at the mission location.

the food was outstanding. the spaghetti was cooked just right and the meatballs and sausage were delicious. the prosciutto ball was like something je makes at home with ham, cream cheese and crescent rolls and it didn't disappoint either.

been eating at italian delight for over 25 years. the old location at indian springs shopping mall was my location growing up. i do like the mission location since they opened. first off, customer service is it what it is. sort of rough and new york style. get past that if you have issues with this. focus on the food. as with anything, there will be off days at italian delight. but, it's usually spot on. pizza, pasta's, calzone's, stromboli's, desserts, ect are the best you'll find in kansas city. just give it a try and write a review.

the metro area's only true ny style pizza. i am an new yorker living in kc for the past 10 years. i'm not one of those people that claim ny pizza is the best in the world. matter of fact, i am happy with most pizzas including the big chains (domino's, pizza hut, etc).

having a slice of ny style pizza brings me back home. its my #1 comfort food.

avelluto's is the only spot in town that nails ny style pizza.
try a simple slice of cheese and pour a little of the powder garlic they have in all tables. a little slice of heaven!

avelutto's italian delight. avelutto's has fantastic stromboli, rigatoni, and pizza (& many other great dishes). this is not a commercial pizza hut or chain place. the sauce and dough are made in house, home made in their shop! i grew up eating italian food on the hill in st. louis like others have mentioned. this is the best italian food that i have found since moving to kc. the prices are very reasonable for taking the whole family out to eat or a date night for the adults when they dim the lights late in the evening.

i highly recommend you try it!
