atomic omelette and grill

that is not an omelette. they should rename theplace"the lazy omelette" because the thing that they serve is not an omelette. the ingredients were fresh and the service was nice and prompt, but you can't toss scrambled eggs in a pan, scramble in a bunch of ingredients, cook the egg until it browns, fold it in half then toss it on a plate and call it an omelette. that is just over-cooked scrambled egg with stuff in it. seriously -- they have all the makings of a great restaurant and from other reviews they seem to have tasty food, but read a cookbook or watch a video. "omelette" is a real culinary word that refers to egg of a certain consistency and texture. forego touting the fact that you make an enormous 3-egg omelette and instead focus on making one of the few "real" omelettes in corpus christi.

nice place, great cheese steak!. we have been to the atomic omelette three times now and have been pleased with the food. the omelettes are nicely done and there is a wide array of items from which to choose to make your own creation. there are also a few predefined creations, of which we tried the atomic and found it to be quite good but not as spicy as expected. the desserts are lovely, the staff very friendly (especially june, a real go-getter and a great guy) but the biggest surprise is a really, really good philly cheese steak. it's terrific!

we also like the fact that the last time we went there was a mix of fruit available, and that we could get just one or two types. this matters because unfortunately, several of us have different allergies to specific fruits, such as canteloupe. theplaceis nice and clean and the benches and chairs are comfortable, although based on the name and the design of the sign i expected a funkier interior, say retro fifties space age or something like that.

the one thing we wish were different is the order-at-the-counter and pay first deal. at least one member of our party has balance and mobility issues and so we have to order for him. it would be much easier for us if it were a more traditional set up, with wait staff who come to the table to take the orders and then bring the check after.

eh, the food wasn't bad, but wasn't great. it's like i hit it on a day that nothing had any good flavor. staff are young and the service was slow. 

i will try thisplaceagain though.

ugh, i really wanted to rate thisplacewell but i just can't. i got chicken, american cheese, bacon, and jalapeños on my omelette. it was indifferent to any other omelette i've had, because the flavors of the chicken and bacon went m.i.a. the only thing i could taste was the heat of the jalapeños and the bland flavor of the egg. however, their french toast is phenomenal! it reminds me of a funnel cake that was freshly made at a carnival. alone it taste great, but adding syrup takes it to another level. it was hands down the best french toast i've had. i highly recommend the french toast, but skip the omelette unless you have a lot of salt and pepper.

thisplaceis great. their omelets are thick and fluffy, like an omelet is supposed to be. (unlike the ones i make at home) there's a bunch of crazy shit you can get in/on your omelet, but it just really detracts from the omelet itself. keep it simple,... cheese, bacon, mushrooms, sausage are all badass. and the salsa is super garlicy..... fresh garlic.
home fries and fruit come standard, but do yourself a favor.... and get a biscuit too.

this is a greatplaceto eat for breakfast. the only time that i we have eaten there is for breakfast. if you don't get there early you will have to wait to order and sit down. we have never had either bad service for bad food. always hot. if you like omlettes this is your place. the sides are usually pan potatoes and fruit, make sure you try their biscuits.

very tasty!. had their breakfast omelette and we loved it! we have yet to try their lunch menu, but we will be returning for that. it's great to finally find aplacewhere it's not like all the others. loved it!

thisplaceis amazing! best burger i have ever had in my life! (they are made on hawaiian bread) must order with sweet potato fries!! speaking of hawaiian bread, their hawaiian bread french toast is delicious too. and of course their omelette is fab!!! oh and their biscuits... ok, thisplacemaybe my favorite in cc.

found thisplaceusing urbanspoon. great food. i really enjoyed the atomic omelette. my coworker had the "grannie pannies" and those looked really good too. wait staff was very friendly. i would definitely go again the next time i'm in corpus christi.

atomic omelette and grill. having a free saturday morning, my partner and i decided to check out atomic omelette.

there was a decent crowd dining, so we figured thisplacemust be popular. the wait staff was prompt with our seating and ordering. there were normal sights and sounds of a busy diner, with wonderful aromas wafting around the dining room.

coffee was steaming hot and flowed freely. my partner ordered the atomic omelette, while i ordered the vege omelette. we shared an order of hawai'ian french toast with sausage. all our food was good, and the prices were quite reasonable.

great localplaceto eat...the hawaiian french toasts are incredible! thephilly steak sandwich was pretty good too.

2,000 miles for an atomic fix ???. i know good food, i've had my share. was planning a visit to s. texas, and kept hearing about this place. had no idea where it was, but lo and behold, it was close by. when in rome, do as the romans, right? so i figured i had to try an atomic omelette w/atomic sauce (i'm not big on omelettes). i didn't regret it.

since my friend had already had a few tacos for breakfast, she wasn't eating. however, she didn't have to wait long as i devoured that whole plate, didn't leave a bite. the service was good (understandable, they were very busy), but the food was fantastic. well prepared, good presentation, delicious to the last drop of atomic sauce.

i will try to stop by on every visit to s. tejas. i came almost 2,000 miles for an atomic omelette, and i wasn't disappointed. i'm craving it right now as i go to bed. i have dinner cooked by celebrity chefs, and thisplacelived up to it's billing. i'm sure already one of the best breakfast joints in cc.

great addition to corpus. having heard so many good things about thisplacefrom my friends, i just had to try for myself. stopped in on saturday morning and built my own omelette. just veggies and cheese for me. the veggies were fresh and the omelette was very flavorful. the coffee was outstanding and most importantly theplacewas clean. definately adding this to my breakfast restaurant list.

i dont really understand the people that gave a bad review. i love this place. i go almost every morning for an egg white omelette. great to have a healthy breakfastplaceto eat at on the southside. i really enjoy the friendly staff. the food is creative and you can tell whoever put the menu together is truley a food lover
