i stopped here for some lunch before my flight and immediately found a seat at the bar. beverage service was quick, but it took a while to order food. theplacewas busy, but they had at least 3 people working behind the bar. the food came quickly and was good (tilapia tacos). i ordered another drink and dessert right after i found out my flight was delayed. i began talking to the gentleman sitting next to me (who was also ordering food). we ended up ordering 2 more drinks each (after another flight delay notification). when the bartender asked if we needed anything else and we said 'no', we were immediately asked to leave because they had people waiting. we both had some of our drink left. i was appalled, as was my new friend. yes, we had been there a while. however, we were ordering food/drinks (aka spending money). it's not like we were sitting around just taking up real estate. it was a good experience up until then. i won't be back.

i did a little research before planning a trip to chicago and quickly realized this was theplaceto go. we arrived into town a little later than expected and so we were hungry and not wanting to endure the typical 45 minute deep dish pizza bake, but still wanting the authentic experience. fortunately for us, art of pizza sells chicago style by the slice and for only about $4.00 per slice. we ended up only getting one slice each and felt perfectly full afterwards. really tasty stuff! also, we did not have to wait in line at all to order, which i hear is not the case at many of the more well known establishments. the only thing i wish is that our pizza would have been a little hotter, but i'm sure it would have been perfect had we decided to wait for it to come straight out of the oven. if you're staying anywhere near lakeview, add thisplaceto your list.

oh man. i can never choose between pequod's and thisplacefor best pizza in chicago. it's probably determined by whicheverplacei went to last.

forget all those people talking about giordano's, lou malnati's, and whatever otherplacethey claim to have the best chicago style pizza in the city. they're wrong. i'm sorry. you have the right to your opinion, but i probably won't really pay attention if you're listing those places before art of pizza or pequod's. even more so if you're making those statements without having been to either one.

eat a special or meaty delight from here and then get back to me.

delivery or carry-out recommended as opposed to the individual slices available, unless you're going there for lunch. then eat whatever and walk away happy.

pepperoni + apple ale.. love, love, love! that is, aside from the caesar salad, which left a peculiar aftertaste on my mouth. i had a pepperoni slice and was delighted to find that they carry redd's apple ale. there was a little wait, but nothing more than at most places around lunchtime. i loved the way theplacewas decorated, and the waitress was super nice. def. going back if i find myself in kc again!

after i heard everyone praising this pizzaplaceas some of the best, if not the best, in the city, i had to try it out.  my first impression was this pizza is amazing.  however, i wasn't sure if i loved their deep dish pizza or just deep dish pizza in general.  after munching...

by far, best pizza in kc! might not be classiestplacein town, but down-to-earth owner serves it up right! take your appetite and get garlic knots and fully loaded pizza. yum! and enough to take home. always been very family friendly and welcoming. enjoy!

a favorite.... to be honest, i agree it takes forever - so call ahead if your in a hurry. but it is possibly the best pie in town, far out stripping the other d'pizzaplacethat has come to disappoint so many recently. the family friendly deal? i've had no issue... the owner can be surly on a good day and he's been a charmer with my boy when i've had him in.

located in the crossroads, in an area being called “the new pizza district of kc”, brooklyn-born victor almo, who used to own jenny'splacein waldo, says his style of pizza is definitely nyc; similar to the famous ray's in the big apple. for a taste of t
