art of pizza

we went during first friday, so we expected a wait. we were told to wait outside by the hostess for fire safety reasons, which was perfectly fine with us. but then she continued to seat people ahead of us. irritating that with this big of a crowd they didn't keep a list, but it was busy and not a huge deal. our pizza came without one of the toppings (only pineapple and jalapenos - missing pepperoni) and the server told us that she wouldn't charge us for the toppings. when we told her that we would like them to redo the pizza, she tried to convince us that we can keep the same pizza and just add the pepperoni on top. we told her no, that we wanted the pizza that we ordered because just adding pepperoni and reheating the pizza does not taste the same. 1 1/2 hours later from when we arrived, we finally received the correct pizza, we asked to speak with the owner. the server came back and let us know that theownerwouldn't speak to us. anownerrefusing to speak with customers (who keep their composure the whole time during a bad dining experience) speaks a lot about a person's character and establishment.

what's going on with this place?. have eaten here in the past and it was a great choice for lunch. today i recommended to friends that we stop by. our order took forever. we finally asked for it "to go" and theownerwas rude with his reply. once back at the office i discovered that my eggplant parmesan was really deep fried zuchinni and not thoroughly prepared. very disappointed in the lack of concern and shoddy manners displayed by theownertoday.

first. visit. my wife and i really enjoyed the food. i had the sausage and pepper sandwich and she had the calzone. they were generously portioned and very favorable. we will be coming back to try the pizza very soon to see how it compares to our current pizza favorite, d'bronx.

i've the reviews on the service and gruffness of the owner. i did speak to theownersome and he was friendly enough. although it was not very busy.

excuuuuuuuse us for ordering.. the pizza was fine. but apparently our presence in the restaurant was a horrible inconvenience to everyone there. we arrived in plenty of time to order by the slice-had anyone acknowledged our presence in the first 15 minutes we were there. both theownerand server treated us like they'd rather we never stepped through the door.

don't bother.... i've been there four times and two of those times theownervery gruffly told me it's gonna be 45 minutes to an hour to even take my order (two slices). like he's mad at me for coming into his restaurant to order food?!? today there was only 12 people in the restaurant and it was still going to be a 45 minute wait...for two slices. go somewhere else, the pizza is good, but not that good.

by far, best pizza in kc! might not be classiest place in town, but down-to-earthownerserves it up right! take your appetite and get garlic knots and fully loaded pizza. yum! and enough to take home. always been very family friendly and welcoming. enjoy!

a favorite.... to be honest, i agree it takes forever - so call ahead if your in a hurry. but it is possibly the best pie in town, far out stripping the other d'pizza place that has come to disappoint so many recently. the family friendly deal? i've had no issue... theownercan be surly on a good day and he's been a charmer with my boy when i've had him in.

good pizza, not family friendly. very very good pizza and we enjoyed very much. got the supreme and had plenty to enjoy at home. pretty clear theowner(assume he was owner) is not a fan of kids. made a comment about making a mess. we always clean the table and few things dropped to the floor...sure he drops much more when cooking.

nice friendly pizza-house. went in to find things quiet on a tuesday, but look out on a first friday! had a great home made pizza pie with everything. loved it!! huge servings, excellent prices, and service by theownerensures that one is completely satisfied. have also had pasta and meatball sandwiches same service and quality.

slice you can walk with.. great ny style pizza . foldable ,so you can walk with a slice on the way back to your office . on friday nights a plain large cheese pizza to go is only $13.00 , and the large pizza is larger than the common kc pizza . i know people try to compare bella pizza which is across the street but they clearly have two different styles of pizza . at times it does take a little longer to get your order but theownerusually tries to amuse you .
