butter cake!. came to arrowhead grill for mother's day 2010. it was a great experience.
it was a price fixe menu. we had 5 people in our party and our mom doesn't eat that much food, so they let us order 4 price fixe menu items and brought my mom out an extra plate to share from us. very accommodating.
good service and friendly wait staff. the owner even came over and checked on us.
the butter cake dessert was fantastic! i highly recommend it. although it does take about 20minutesfor the cake to come out. i think our server forgot to mention that.
i have been here for dinner as well. their sides and fish are excellent.
we will definitely be back. they gave our mom a 20 dollar gift card to use. wohoo! can't wait.

do not book online -- does not honor reservations made online by loyal customers

the last two times i dined here with my wife it was wonderful. we had great service and spent an average of $400 each time with tip (we tip big).

the two times that followed, never happened.

we booked online via open table and selected the standard table with a requested romantic setting.

after driving 40minutesto eat here, we were told by a rude hostess that we had specifically requested outdoor seating. because who doesn't want to eat outside in 107 degree heat in dress clothing in phx in july?

right.

i pulled up the ot reservation on my phone and showed her and the manager that no outside request had been made and that their system was wrong. the reservation confirmed what i said and we had just driven 40minutesto drop $400 at their place.

they basically told my wife and i tough luck and the soonest they could get us a table was 90minuteslater.

yeah. let me just pay you to wait 90minutesafter you screwed up our reserveration twice in the past two visits.

do yourself a favor, there are plenty of places that have good food and service that won't screw you twice on a simple online reservation.

don't make the mistake we did and drive out there twice to be treated like a serf.

terrible, completely terrible!. we have heard so many good things about arrowhead grill but last night we went and the service was beyond terrible. our server seemed to be in another place, we waited over 45minutesfor our entrees. the guests around us ordered at least 20minutesafter us, and got their food around 10-15minutesbefore us. i'm assuming the server forgot about putting our food in. i really expected better from other reviews.

ok, so we went back. it's still in a strip mall, the food is still mediocre, the service is still cartoonishly amateur, the owner is still a jerk and yet they are still in business. those westsiders are either desperate or lacking in the smarts department (as most eastsiders suspect) bottom line - not worth your hard earned dollar.

overpriced and inexperienced. the food is ok, but the prices are far too high for the quality. it is in a strip mall next to a pizza joint with very minimal signage. hard to find and really not worth the effort. our server didn't seem to know what she was doing. we had ordered a bottle of wine and when someone brought it to the table, instead of opening it for us, she ordered them to take it back. the guy took the bottle back and we didn't see it again for almost 10minuteswhen she finally brought it back and opened it. i can only guess that this is her first restaurant job. when the food finally arrived it was just ok. they are trying to be a top shelf steakhouse but barely reach the level of black angus. they need to drop their prices and improve the service. until then, we won't be going back.
