amerigo italian restaurant

decent food, crapshoot service. if the waiters get your order right, then its not bad. slow kitchenserviceand spotty service. oh well.

great food, bring your smallest car. here's my only negative to the place - the parking lot is awful. if you have a tahoe and a corolla, bring the corolla. i have 2 suvs and i hate parking either one there.

after you get in, you don't care. the place is a little busy, but as long as you don't the table directly outside of the kitchen entrance (yes, i got it once) you are in for a great dining experience.

ourservicehas been great for the 10 years that we've been going there. the food is excellent. the pork chops are phenomenal. i don't think i've ever had a meal there that i didn't like.

the chicken parmigiana is better at roma's, but for everything else amerigo sets the standard for italian in the jackson area.

i don’t understand how this place has under 5 stars! we’ve been coming here for years and have had a good meal every time. our favorites are the wild mushroom ravioli and tiramisu. theserviceis always great and we never leave disappointed. the food is well priced and delicious. keep it up amerigo!

this place has been around for a while. good solid italian food and goodservicetoo. there are some inconsistencies from time to time with the same dish. i think the decor needs to be refreshed some.

we ate with a group of eight.servicewas great. everyone liked the food. i had spaghetti my wife had chicken parmigiana. these choices were good.

we went on a thursday night. i know they just opened, but theservicewas terrible. our server took forever to greet us. our food came out after the 5 tables around us that were seated and ordered much later than us. the server said there was a compute glitch. that didn't seem like a valid excuse being that the kitchen received the orders around us. she treated us to dessert at the end of our meal since we waited so long. she didn't ask us. we were just ready to leave since we'd been there for an hour and a half. the dessert was charged as part of our meal. it was corrected. the food was good. i'm hoping that our server had an off night and this isn't a reflection of how they train their servers.

first time, enjoyed it very much. friday night, expected a long wait, parking lot was full. the wait wasn't bad at all. the food was excellent. the waitress was very pleasant but somewhat spotty with promptserviceon things like drink refills and finishing up. overall, very satisfied with the dining experience. all the dishes were prepared very well and were promptly served. the crab cake was as good as any i have had at most restaurants and i order it everywhere i go. the wild mushroom ravioli was very good, the sauce creamy and not overly spiced.

the black and white tile floor in the dining area is very slippery. i fell this evening and got grease all over my pants. need to pay closer attention to detail.

why did the 3 of the waitstaff try to hang a 4 ft by 5 ft picture in the dining room at 7pm during the middle of aservice? they pulled tables out and stood in the chairs with customers all around. very unprofessional !!!! standards used to be very high, now they are lacking. if this is happening in front of customers, what is going on in the kitchen ???

i have dined at amerigo for the past 20 years and have never had a bad meal or service. this restaurant has consistently exceeded my expectations. the tarimsu is the best that i have had at any restaurant in the us or europe

great food. i love to eat at amerigo's! the food is always consistently great and theservicefantastic!

best italian food i have ever had! the veal piccata is to die for! will definitely return!servicewas great too!

one of the greats!. my husband and i frequent this restaurant monthly! i loooove it! they don't have the bestserviceand i've gotten frustrated several times with the hostesses (there were several tables seated before us that arrived after us on many occasions). nonetheless, their food is some of the best italian i've had. i wish macaroni grill was still around, i'd live there!!

solid. not authentic, but did you expect that?servicecan be a little iffy sometimes. the fried artichoke hearts are not on the menu, but are available as an appetizer and very worth it. my favorite is the straw and hay, which is always request-able, and not always on the menu. i believe they may be under new management at the time of writing this. new menus, saw a new face wandering around and discussing the meal with the diners. can sometimes get very busy, and have had badservicea time or two, but no restaurant is on the ball all the time.

always great!. we have enjoyed amerigo for several years and we always receive greatserviceand food. some of our favorites are the duck and sausage pasta, the tortellini with crabmeat and of course the tiramisu...the bread is great and there is a good selection on the wine list. great local restaurant that is always an enjoyable experience!!

nice meal. amerigo had been on my list of places to try in jackson for a while. we went last night and were very pleased with our meal.

i ordered sausage and duck pasta and mu wife had the ravioli (w half alfredo and half marinara sauces) - both were very good. portions were definitely large enough to take some home. theservicewas great and our waitress, kimberly, was very attentive and had great suggestions.

plan to spend at least $15-20 per person.

bland...i would rather eat spaghettio's!. my husband is italian so we try to eat at as many authentic italian restaurants that we can find. after reading reviews for amerigo's we thought we would try amerigo's for my birthday. yuck, yuck, yuck! the cheese fritters were horrible, no taste at all. i got brick oven pizza with red peppers and it was okay, but nothing to write home about. i had one piece and threw the leftovers away when i got home. i had the angel hair spaghetti as a side and took one bite...maybe two to make sure it was really that bad. the pasta was way overdone and tasted like a sticky, pasty ball of tasteless goo...playdough has more flavor. the sauce tasted like water with red dye in it. my husband ordered the seafood dish with way overcooked angel hair and bland sauce. my toddler ordered fettucine which she loves and wouldn't even eat the stuff after her first bite. theservicewas okay, the waiter was very nice, but you could tell he had something else on his mind and was very forgetful. my daughter did enjoy the normal bread dipped in olive oil concoction, but it looked and tasted to me as if it was only canola oil or at the very least a very small amount of olive oil cut with a very large amount of canola oil. it took forever to get your food and there is no ambiance...the tables are so close together that we might as well call it amerigo's cafeteria.
