overrated-trust me!!. i don't understand all the hype? waited a good hour or so for average cash onlyeggsbenedict and blueberry pancakes. extremely limited basic menu choices done only ok. dirty place-cook breathes on and man handles everything. seating tight-with people lurking right behind hurrying you up. there are many other better places to enjoy breakfast in mn. it's almost a tourist trap at this point. go elsewhere!

classic old-school al's breakfast never disappoints. pancakes are out of this worldeggscorn beef hash browns bacon it's like a grease paradise. always come back. so popular need to stand in line for a least an hour. the ambience is great it's an experience you need to have.

lotta fun. the food is pretty much nothing special except for the "wally blues"! also known as the walnut/blueberry pancakes! those are great. the dust buildup is rather unsightly, but if you're okay with that, this is a kitschy good time. they have a great reputation foreggsbenedict, but since i'm not a fan of them, i will refrain from commenting on those.

waited about an hour for breakfast in a saturday. service is fast and everyone is a little punchy, which i quite enjoyed. very happy with myeggsbenedict, hash browns, and blueberry pancake. thought it would be weird to have people in line right behind me watching me eat but i forgot all about it once my food came!

good but not worth the wait.. i got the spring special (one egg with asparagus and hollandaise) and a blueberry pancake. the pancake was great but theeggswere nothing special, and the sauce weird and i normally love holl. sauce, this is why i got it. my boyfriend was very let down and won't be going back. he left hungry. i would go again for a pancake if it wasn't busy, but i wouldn't wait that hour and a half again, and we went on a mon. morning.

a fine establishment. i have gone to al's several times and have enjoyed each visit. the hash browns are the greatest that one could ever have. if you don't like them, that means you just don't like hash browns. theeggsbenedict is unbelievably good. the yolks are just barely cooked and the hollandaise sauce is lemony and made fresh in house. the corned beef hash is also excellent. al's serves the best pancakes ever. they are thin, tangy, and just barely sweet (i can't stand ridiculously sweet ones). get the blueberry buttermilk pancakes with an order of real maple syrup. the staff is very friendly and it's fun to listen to the cooks and servers working. from my experience the wait is the shortest about an hour before closing. get there around 12:00 and you might not have to wait in line.
