ale emporium

great place for pizza and beer. i have been going to the ale since the day it has opened and still find it to set the bar for quality food andservicein the sports bars of indy. theirservicestaff is fantastic and make you feel at home on every visit. congrats to marc...herman...scott and their entire staff for a job well done for over 25 years!! visit once and you too will be a regular.

terribleservicetonight. having a great night with coworkers and ordered absolute favorite 3floyd's gumballhead. ordered 2nd round and was told only warm beer was available. asked for a discount or if there was anything a mgr could do but was told nothing they could do. mgr brian perkins came to table and rolled eyes after we explained the issue. too bad since table already had a 100+ tab and was trying to spend more $. suggest owners or senior mgmt consider that your waitress lost out on 20-30 when we paid checks and walked and the business lost out on at least $50 in additional sales (prob more..) and pushed out regular customers(avg 3x per month) who always spend 100+ and then leave 20+% tips. i guess you have too many of those to offer a half price domestic draft while warm beer gets iced down or any discount on the apps ordered to incentivize a table to stay and spend more $. z

the pizza is great but takes a while so don't order it if you're in a hurry. also, theserviceover the weekends is horrible! we've actually had 2 different meals comped because the server was mia for such a long time (they offered to comp meal both times). the pizza is really good though so if you don't mind the wait, it's not an issue.

never again. we came in for a concert from st. louis and the first place we visited was the ale emporium. we seated ourselves as the sign in front stated. when we sat down (at a table in the bar area) the bartender yelled to us from behind the bar and asked us what we wanted to drink and if we needed a menu. we had to get up from the table and get our own drinks and menus from the bar. while we waited to order for over 20 minutes, the bartender was eating at the end of the bar being completely inattentive to us. finally we decided that we were too hungry to wait and proceeded to walk to the bar (again) to order our food. not 2 minutes after we ordered, an employee began to set up a table with food warmers. while we were waiting for chicken wings that we paid $10 for, people were walking past us with plates full of free wings for happy hour. we had planned on ordering food and drinks for a couple of hours since we didn't have plans until the next night, and we weren't ready to go back to the hotel yet, however, we decided to pay our bill and spend our money elsewhere. so, not only did we pay for what other patrons were getting for free, we received the worstservicewe have ever received at an establishment that boasts greatserviceand great food. i was more upset with theservicethan the food, and the "best wings in town" were nothing more than soggy wings with watered down sauce. absolutely horrible. we went to tilly's which was a total dive but received great service. not worth my $30
