aldaco's mexican cuisine

so disappointing. i cannot imagine how this restaurant got so highly recommended! i wonder who does the recommending? the view on thepatiois of houses and streets - nothing more! next to thepatiois the parking lot, or a lawn on which children play leap frog or fighting, while yelling at each other - right next to the dining tables where you are trying to eat! the bar is so noisy, the barman could not hear me trying to order a few drinks. never again!! there are plenty of much better mexican restaurants - this is san antonio.

aldaco's margaritas rock!. i love aldaco's at stone oak. the food is incredible, the view on thepatiostunning, and the margaritas are the best!

always a great experience and our favorite is enjoying margaritas on thepatioin the evening. they have great staff and the table side guacamole is a must have. the only downside that they changed their chips to an inferior brand. they don't taste like real corn tortillas.

impressed! i hadn't been in a hurry to try this place since in san antonio we don't necessarily equate the stone oak area with good, authentic mexican food. but since my parents were in town celebrating my mom's birthday, having read great reviews, and the restaurant being recently added to my airline dining program, i decided to give them a shot. i'm very glad we did! excellent service, excellent food, and we even got a table visit from the owner after our meal. absolutely wonderful birthday meal. my favorites were the grilled panela and zucchini from the centerpiece plate, the marinated steak on the arracheta plate and the borracho beans were all very delicious. i would definitely recommend this place to others and will be back. my only complaint was the noise level, it was very very loud, hard to have a conversation, but perhaps a few carpets would help the acoustics aspect.  when it warms up a bit, i'm looking forward to having a meal on thepatioand take advantage of the great view! well done aldaco's, see you soon!

a greatpatioand food!. for anyone looking for good mexican food and a great patio......aldacos stone oak is the place to go. the owners are wonderful people and the service is great. i have my favorites but the centerpiece is fantastic! margaritas of any kind are good here. love it!

excellent food (selection and quality). greatpatioview too; chips and roasted garlic salsa is possibly the best in the city; staff provides great service; the owner, blanca aldaco, is usually on-site, greeting the customers and making sure that everyone has a great dining experience; bar service is great... they make "world class" margaritas and bloody mary's; like la fonda, mi tierra, los barrios, casa rio and jacala, aldaco's is a great "destination" mexican restaurant. it is definitely worth driving a few extra miles to the far northside of town for the experience. reasonably priced too! enjoy!

great food, service and ambiance!. simply put - if you don't like aldaco's then you have issues. the service was fantastic!!! the food was delicious and very reasonable. thepatioseating was a gift from god that was meant to be shared by all. thank you to everyone on staff at aldaco's and i will be recommending this place to all my family and friends!!!! bravo to you!

if you want to go sit on a greatpatioand drink mediocre margaritas, this place is awesome! but that is all that is worth mentioning.

food was alright. i prefer the drinks over the dinner plates. good atmosphere and a great staff make an enjoyable time along with the beautifulpatioview. must try the 'avocado' drinkbita very delicious!!

hostess. our clients asked for it and we listened. thepatiois now smoke-free. that makes aldaco's stone oak 100% smoke-free. enjoy!

hit-and-miss. i have given this restaurant several opportunities because it has such great potential. of the dozen or so times i've been there, i've only had a good experience about 40% of the time. bad service, screwed up orders and overly expensive drinks that are not that fabulous. my last and probably final visit resulted in having to cancel our credit card because of compromised security with their credit card processing. too bad...thepatioand fish tacos (when i get fish not shrimp) were awesome.

nicepatiobut terrible food.patiois great, margaritas were great (pricey at $11 each), service was very good, but food was not good at all. we have been fans of sunset station aldaco's, and the food here was not good at all. usually great salsa was not balanced or seasoned at all, and chile relleno tasted like spam was inside. even quesadillas were strange.

casual dinner w/a view!. we've gone twice and both experiences have been great! happy hr on a friday on thepatiow/a gorgeous view of the city added to nite w/the girlz. birthday dinner for my bro on thepatiow/a large party plus baby was stress free.

definate recommend to couples w/kids. big tip: go early and reserve your table to ensure you have a view.

i recommend the chic enchil al chipotle.
