quaint little shop andrestaurantall in one: russian, east european and german cuisine is served here.

i had the rolled cabbage: two large servings with a side of rice in a nice light broth. simply delicious.

not sure sitting in the middle of a souvenir shop with deli cases of meats and cheeses on the other side makes this anything but weird though lol

first time, and it's delicious!. this is the first time i've tried eastern european food (seriously!) and it was absolutely delicious!

my husband and i ordered the meat lovers platter, which is meant to feed 2 people. it came with mushroom-stuffed meatloaf topped with gravy, beef stroganoff (no noddles), beef goulash, and fried potatoes. talk about delicious! satisfying and very stick to your ribs. i imagine this to be the equivalent of comfort food in eastern europe. my husband and i just kept saying it was "so good" and "delicious" because there were really no other words for it!

the staff was super friendly, and multiple times throughout our meal, the owner asked to see how we were and how our food was.

therestaurantis also part store as well, and there were a lot of eastern european decor and knick-knacks. we enjoyed looking around while we waited for our meal.

we finished the meal with nutella crepes which were also good, and my husband said they reminded him of the ones he's had while he lived in germany.

needless to say, we'll go back whenever we're down in the dallas area again.

not bad but not great. we found therestaurantvia the city of arlington facebook page. apparently guy fieri from ddd was filming there last week.

therestauranthas just five tables but there are tons of opportunities to buy imported russian goods. look closely for the bargains since a lot of the times are quite expensive.

i had the pierogies which were pretty good. i prefer mine sauteed in butter v. oil but the caramelized onions on top added to the dish. i also like cheese and onions in my filing like my grandmother used to make.

my wife had the schnitzel. it's quite different than you'd expect but it's a schnitzel in a russian restaurant.

great russian cuisine. i love this place for its warm atmosphere, great food, and fairly priced shopping. i found a wide variety of impressive eastern european relics, such as icons, medals, army and navy uniforms, patriotic pins, and a bunch of other things, many of them decades old, yet in excellent condition. there are shelves of books by russian authors as well as current magazines. taste of europe also offers delicious food in the grocery andrestaurantparts, all russian cuisine. the perogi, dumplings with potato filling, are to die for! i've been getting them every time i go there ever since i tried them. so good! even the service is great! the owner, mikhail, is always interesting and fun to talk with. the restaurant/shop is one of my favorite spots in arlington.
