the godfather – sliced chicken, two types of sausage, lettuce, special sauce, and parmesan cheese, on a french roll. this sandwich was massive and super meaty. i liked that there was a combination of three different meats inside and thesausagecombined with the sharp parmesan cheese made it very flavourful.

very fresh ingredients. the godfather sandwich was a huge portion, not a big fan of the housesausagebut the chicken and the white sauce were very nice. also had the sweet peach and coconut tea which was very nice. prices a little high, sub and tea was $15!

very friendly staff...shit yeah!

went there because of a recommendation while visiting some family. they said the food was fantastic. it was basic fare and thesausagesandwich my wife had i wouldn't feed to my dog. and very expensive. i think it is catered more to the younger crowd. if you want a trip back into the 1960s woodstock era it's the place for you.

we stopped here for lunch last week based on the comment of our tour trolley operator.  the food was excellent, the portions much too large for us for lunch.  i had an oliver's lunch, which is a chicken andsausagelunch.  my wife had a chicken wrap.  a great value.  the dining area is a few tables in a parking lot, but somehow it suits.  their sweet tea has a coconut/pineapple flavour that my wife absolutely loved.  we went back to get more the next day.  it is the kind of place i would go back to regularly.

great sandwich stop. visited zunzi's two times in a recent trip to savannah and was able to try the conquistador, fisherman's deck, and the godfather. all three sandwiches came on fresh french bread with lettuce, tomatoes, and zunzi's two incredible secret sauces. the salmon in the fisherman's deck was tasty and very tender, the pulled chicken for the other two was very juicy, and thesausagein the godfather was very flavorful. overall i would recommend zunzi's to anyone stopping through savannah, especially the godfather sandwich, for their fantastic flavors and laid back, consistent service.

finally got back down to savannah and i was on a mission to try a new place. i decided on zunzi's and i was not disappointed. i ordered several dishes to share with la familia. the conquistador, the godfather, the vegetable curry with rice & chicken, & a side of the macaroni salad. everything was good. the chicken is all white meat moist breast chopped up fresh in front of you for the sandwhiches. the line is always stretched out the door because its a small take out place, no inside tables, but it moves very quickly so do not be discouraged. the godfather and conquistador are essentially the same sandwhich: chicken, lettuce, tomato & special sauce except the godfather also has cheese and choice ofsausageadded to the sandwhich. the sauce is just right, its like a zingy peppery tangy mayo sauce. the sandwhiches are not served with sides btw, must order separately. however they are freaking huge sandwhiches. 1/3 could easily fill the average person. i almost order the boerwurst south africansausageroll when the kind employee offered me a samples of thesausageas it was my first time there. as he predicted, it is a taste that not many like in asausageand i am one of them. its grinded texture, like chorizo but its actually very sour in taste not so much savory and spicy, actually not at all. its more herby and fruity tasting and very strong. you either love it or hate it kind of thing. they also have a grilled kielbasa sausage, which is what i choose for the godfather. thesausagecheese & chicken work really well together on the sandwhich. the macaroni salad was recommend as the most popular to get and i see. coming from a guy who never orders mac salad anywhere because its normally terrible, this is good mac salad! it was great and had that once you start can't stop eating quality. its spiced just right, zesty bite like a citrus note, very refreshing. its not too creamy, in fact you wonder if there's anything on it at all until you dig in. has diced tomato, corn, mushrooms and slices of black olive(the best part) mixed in. the curry is unlike any version i've had before. for one, the curry is not thick and makes you wonder if they forgot to laddle it on. its actually very subtle. at first bite i was disappointed, byt the second bite was better. it is actually balanced just right, and not heavy and overpowering, although that is what im used to and looking for in curry dishes. i had chicken v
breast added to the dish at an upcharge since it is intended to be a veggie dish. it made the dish very satisfying and was not out of place. i look forward to going back one day. they close at 5 & 6 around dinner time not at 2/3pm end of lunch time fyi.

conquistador v. godfather. the staff was super friendly and the chicken was super juicy and moist. i tried the massive conquistador which was great but my husband and i preferred the rivaled godfather which i thought had a bigger flavor profile with the same juicy chicken and awesomesausageand a tangy red sauce.

if i went back, i would get the oliver's lunch which lets you just get the chicken with side items. the chicken is so great, i feel like i don't need the sandwich bread. you can always get the conquistador sauce to pour over it on the side.

the reason i visit savannah. the only thing i look more forward too than seeing family when i visit savannah is the trip to zunzi's. the poor oliver with 1/2 and 1/2 and smokedsausagemay possibly be one of the greatest meals you can eat for under $10. if you're in savannah and you don't stop at zunzi's, you've wasted a trip. only downside is parking can be a bit troublesome.

i'm waited in a line at zunzi's with sweat trickling down and pooling at the small of my back, everyone else in line with me floppy moist too. shiny foreheads, the beginnings of pit stains, dewy upper lips. no breeze and 90 degrees in april in savannah and i was in a sweaty line for a highly recommended sandwich. the lady in front of me ordered something called the conquistador which was basically henny penny slathered in sauce and sandwich fixings on a loaf of french bread. dang, that was a crap load of chicken for one sandwich. when it was my turn, i went don corleone. i ordered the godfather. homemadesausagewas involved. it was an offer i couldn't refuse: the guy behind the counter opened the steaming container and pulled out a length ofsausagethat glistened black, an eel of porcine goodness. he made what looked like to me, a conquistador, then nestled thesausagebetween the chicken and the bread. he asked me about sauce and i said i wanted the pink and the white. soak me broth

best single dish i've had in savannah.. hang on, give me a second, ahhhh, i needed a deep breath after eating their boerewors on a bun. this beast is sort of a boudin-ishsausagefilled with a lot of clove, i think i tasted nutmeg and coriander seeds as well, but plenty of clove up front. outside of ham you rarely have clove with meat. a delightful combo, but probably not for everyone. they will give you a taste before you buy.

this place is to go or al fresco. it is like someone crammed a subway shop into a van. the counter is tight, but fast and efficient. the goods are made right in front of you. i love seeing my dish being created. the boerewors is on a nice firm bun, then covered with onions, gravy, and mustard. i included a side of mashed, scratch, not instant. nice and think!

i really love this sandwich, such a treat. so different. i have also been told that the conquistador is the bomb. apparently the sauce rules. but at least ask to try the boerewors. i'll stop here and angel's everytime i am in town.
