the best everything!. there is not one thing on the menu that will not totally knock your socks off. this is the bestplaceto get lunch in savannah hands down. not only is the food incredible and unique, but the service and the staff are friendly and generous! johnny is a big supporter of the local savannah music scene as well and has put on local music events in the parking lot of zinzi's. we love zunzi's very much and strongly recommend you eat there.

favorite items....

conquistador sandwich
shepard's pie
falafel pita
oliver's lunch

shit yeah! (sorry for the profanity....you'll understand when you walk in the door.)

maybe we had to much expectation of the place. everyone said was a greatplacewith best sandwiches in state.
is a smallplacewhere you buy the food and then go outside to eat them. (tables, chairs and umbrellas next) but with 95 degrees was too much.
the sandwich was good but not outstanding ... maybe too spicy. and really spicy for kids.
beer was not to cold ...
so was not the beatplacein savannah ..

this is one of my favorite restaurants, not just in savannah, but anywhere. there is always a long wait, but that wait is worth it. alongside the charisma of the workers, who love to provide you with "shit yeah" stickers and popsicles, the food itself is great.

overall, i would recommend going with either the godfather or conquistador. those are their two main staples and really give you a feel for what to expect. the flavors of both lack a specific definition, outside of "delicious." this is the must stopplacein savannah to eat, especially if you're on a budget.

i first passed by zunzis as i was exploring savannah. it first caught my ear bc the music was a great selection. i could hear it from down the street. i passed by and the line was out the door. i continued on bc it wasn't quite dinner time. i completed my adventure and was looking for great food. i was alone so i didn't want to dine in anywhere i felt out of place. i found aplaceonline and started that way. i passed zunzis again on my way. i quickly changed my mind and went back. this was the best dinner decision i've ever made. while i waited they could tell i never had been there before and offered me samples. i was immediately in love! the staff was amazing. they were so cheerful, helpful, and sweet. i was blown away at how great they were with every person in line. i ordered the god father sandwich. and the african tea. the tea was very refreshing. perfect amount of sweetness. i never take pictures of my food but i did this trip. i sent it to my family and friends. i later took a carriage ride and told the family that was also on the ride about it and the carriage driver justin began to rave about the place. this is a must try place. i'm not sure if when i visit again i'll eat anywhere else.

went there because of a recommendation while visiting some family. they said the food was fantastic. it was basic fare and the sausage sandwich my wife had i wouldn't feed to my dog. and very expensive. i think it is catered more to the younger crowd. if you want a trip back into the 1960s woodstock era it's theplacefor you.

thisplacewas so good, my husband and i ate here twice. we tried the conquistador, the godfather, and the fisherman's deck. the conquistador was our favorite and the sauce that comes with it has to be put on the sandwich. we had our food delivered as we had heard the small restaurant gets crowded with long lines very easy. also, the hummus appetizer is an excellent choice as well. let's just say, my husband won't eat any hummus but zunzi's!

what a delightful little hole in the wall! zunzi’s is a prime example of how you cannot always judge a restaurant by its exterior. i was initially skeptical as to why everyone gave theplacea good review…surely there had to be some bad reviews?! the answer to that came the moment we tasted the food.

i ordered the popular zunzi’s sandwich named ‘conquistador’ and my husband got the ‘oliver’s lunch’. we also took two sweet teas as the samples tasted fantastic. there is no indoor seating but there is an outdoor seating area available to those who do not want to take the food to go. the sandwich was amazing. the chicken was marinated perfectly and the meat flaked off beautifully. i added some extra curry sauce that they gave on the side, which added an extra zing to the sandwich. but oliver’s lunch was the winner for me. the portion size was enormous and the meat was seamlessly seasoned and accompanied with the house sauces.

although it is not the idealplacefor a sit-down meal, zunzi is now among my favorite eateries in savannah. looking forward to my next visit!

we stopped here for lunch last week based on the comment of our tour trolley operator.  the food was excellent, the portions much too large for us for lunch.  i had an oliver's lunch, which is a chicken and sausage lunch.  my wife had a chicken wrap.  a great value.  the dining area is a few tables in a parking lot, but somehow it suits.  their sweet tea has a coconut/pineapple flavour that my wife absolutely loved.  we went back to get more the next day.  it is the kind ofplacei would go back to regularly.

sh#t yeah! i consider myself a bit of a food snob, avoiding anything chain oriented at all cost. i thrive on finding the locals favorites. i have the gut to prove it...lol. thisplaceis claims to be nothing... but has it going on. being a straight man... i typically don't like the big black african sausage... but i made an acception today and bit down on the boerewor with gravy, "sh#t yeah" sauce, and fresh onions, served on a french bagget. i also don't typically like clove and allspice in my meat product... but they gave me a sample and it was out of control good.
my wife ordered the falaphel it was also amazing. fresh fried to order... crispy outside, fluffy and moist inside... and the tadziki sauce had the perfect amount of dill and garlic inside. the only falafel i've ever had that was anywhere near this caliber in the u.s. was made by an old egyptian lady in her own kitchen.
i'm not to fond of the south african sweet tea (its a little overpoeering.) but you can ask for a sample.
thisplaceis crazy good. prepare to wait in line for this hole in the wall.

flavorbomb. this isplaceis absolutely amazing. very smallplacebut packs a huge punch of flavor. the staff is very friendly and works fast. so as you wait in line, it moves quick. my wife had the conquistador and i had the godfather. we also had hummus and falafel balls with the tatziki sauce. too much food for two human beings but we managed to eat it all. as we prepared to bite into our sandwiches, we didn't even know how to approach it. it was enormous. the chicken breast is to die for as it has so much flavor and is very moist. the special sauce is to die for and the fresh french bread under all those fresh ingredients seems like it was just baked today. you will have to search for the bread because its hidden under the massive amount of chicken which is a great thing in my opinion. the hummus is so flavorful and it is served with fresh hot pitas. now to the falafel balls. they were the best i have ever had. i'm of arabic descent and i have had my share of falafel and this blew it out of the water. it was served with the best tatziki sauce. i am overwhelmed by the amount of flavor in this food. trust me, i know good food and this food is superb! must try!!
