first time here and cheap andfreshmexican food i love flan at saturdays

home cooking. i go to the zona fresca on university near 595 every couple of weeks. it's totally the best native mexican food i have had outside of mexico. clean, fresh, simple and honest food. get the chiles relleno. they're fire blackened crispyfreshpeppers filled with creamyfreshcheese.

service is amazingly fast and friendly.

i have been here many times and have never been disappointed. the person who wrote a review saying the burrito want big enough has to be crazy as the burritos make a meal for 2, which indo on many occasions.freshsalsa bar is wonderful and a far better experience than chipotle across the street. plus on friday and saturday they havefreshceviche. m?

best in class. my family and i have been going to the ft. lauderdale location of zona fresca for years, and we love it. in addition to moderate prices and a clean, pleasant atmosphere, with friendly employees, zona offers consistently high quality food that's always freshly prepared. they offer burritos, tostadas, quesadillas, etc., as well as cold beer. their ceviche is excellent also - though it isn't always on the menu.
a competitor ( lime ) recently opened just down the street, so out of curiosity we tried it ... once. we've tried bajafreshand whole enchilada ... there is just no comparison. we're back for good. it's zona fresca for freshly prepared high quality food at reasonable prices. try it. you will not be disappointed.

love love love! i am a reguar, i eat there at least once a week and it never lets me down. by far my favorite reataurant. the food is alwaysfreshand no one can beat zona's delicious salsa bar! always ask for a side of the lemony dressing...so good. plus it's cheap. love it.

quick & cheap. the food is alwaysfreshand the service is great. very in expensive. there is a salsa bar and your meals come with chips. one of my favorite items is the california burrito. its light and great for lunch.

greatfreshfood. i am a very picky eater and i love zone fresca. the food is sofreshand tastes healthy. i love the condiment bar, the food is very inexpensive, the owner is very nice and a good pr man. sometimes i have to remind them to fill the soft tace, but usually they are good and i am always full. i have always gotten the under $3 meal of chicken soft taco, with the beans and sour cream and rice, and then i put the salsa and jalapinos and all the other condiments on it. i always have them put the chips in a seperate paper box so it does not get soaked from the beans fluid in the taco. the on,ly complaint i have about the food is that they beans are not drained when they put them in the taco. that results in the liquid just all over the plate and i do not like that. draining the beans is a must!

i hope they read this and fix that problem. otherwise, i give them a 9 our of 10. after they resolve the sloppy bean issue, i will give them a 10.

a split review.... fat food lover has been to zona fresca hundred times in the past five years and i'm still split on the food. perhaps you would say i like it simply by default because i continue to go. the place is always busy, and parking is a (five letter expletive insert here). the tacos are simple mexican tacos, meat, chicken or fish. ( i would not recommend the fish, i have had a number of dates become ill later). sometimes the meat or chicken is very dry, which is understandable, since you can see it sitting out right at the counter as you order. the chips are perfect texture, and good with thefreshsalsa. my favorite thing on the menu is "the siesta maker" which is very filling for a fat man like me. the quesadilla's are ok, but if you want better ones (without processed cheese) try "guacamoles on the beach". overall i give this place a 6 out of 10…decent, cheap and quick, but depends on the time of day. if you get it early the food is fresh, late in the day it can be like day old macdonalds.

fresh ingredients, good value but tasteless. yes, i know it's a fast food place. it does havefreshingredients and represents a good, easy on the wallet vaule. my only problem with it is that for mexican, none of their food seems to have that unique zesty mexican flavor that is the hallmark of meixan dinning.

very tasty!. i am starting to think inside fort lauderdale blogger reads my mind then states the opposite. they like everything i don't and that goes for most reviewers- read their post then read everyone else! don't know what they are eating, but it is odd! for those who say this food has no taste have not been to the salsa bar to add lime, great salsas of varying heat, roasted hot peppers, etc. in addition, i always have the cook add cilantro to my delicious, very generous fish taco which they love to do for you. i squeezefreshlime, add roasted hot peppers and some hot sauce that is on every table. this is simply delicious! and very tasty with bold flavors! there is a line to the door every day to dispute the no-taste theory. they need no more customers, and i'd like a shorter line, so by all means skip it! : )

greatest fish tacos ever. for under $3! crazy good food. i go to the one in plantation and it is fab every time- this place is great!

really good food & price!!. this is a great example of well priced and good tasting mexican food. i love thefreshsalsa bar and the guacamole doesn't taste like a prepackaged avacado. i think this is ideal for students or anyone who wants some good food for a good price. quesadillas and fish tacos are great!

regular. nachos & quesadillas are super tasty! burritos were stale and bad one day, but usually everything there tastesfreshand yummy.

greatfreshmexican food. excellent, fast mexican food. very fresh. there are not many places like this in sfla, and many people there don't understand that there is more than one type of mexican food. the only con is that parking is a problem during lunch and dinner hours at hwy 1 location, no problem at plantation location.

excellent!!. i have been going to zona for years!! by far, the freshest and tastiestfreshmexican food in fort lauderdale!! not to mention...very inexpensive!!
