when there's no room left in hell.... the dead will roam the earth...looking for burgers? i have been eating at zb since their soft opening, and have well over 20 visits under my (slightly expanded) belt. watching this restaurant evolve from its completely over the top opening has been at times fun (trying out new developing menu ideas) and other times painful (i have witnessed a few service blunders, which unfortunately always happen in a new place) but the staff and management have weathered the insane business and constant changes to come out on top.
zombie burger has an eclectic mix of burgers, all based on zombie movie titles and director names. these span from a basic cheeseburger to burgers with chicken-fried bacon and fried ranch dressing. there are a handful of fun hot dogs (sold as "rippers" but i have yet to have one cooked long enough to "rip". please, leave it in the fryer a little longer, ask for yours well done to alleviate any issues), and their fries are all hand cut and cooked on premises. i personally have had no problems with the food (aside from the non-ripped rippers and maybe eating a little too much), and the service has almost always been great. it is always an interesting mix of diners, from your average family burger dinner group to hardcore horror movie afficianados checking out the great murals and decorations which give zb its unique atmosphere.
have i mentioned the drink lab? fun, inventive drinks and "adult milkshakes" are found along side a great beer selection (they carry my favorite local beer, peacetree from knoxville). my personal favorite drink is their take on the bloody mary, made with squid ink and rimmed with laquercia proscuitto.
i highly recommend giving this place a try, and a return visit. those of you who have knocked zb for being too slow during the first opening month or too busy, realize that they didn't think they would be so insane and have taken measures (including leasing more space for prep) to make sure your needs are taken care of.
