amazing and innovative. zen forrest is by far our favorite fine diningrestaurantin the area. the chef is so creative and innovative, and the ingredients used are top quality. every meal we have ever had at zen forrest has been excellent--from the most tender and flavorful filet dishes and fresh seafood to sumptuous desserts like asparagus and pistachio gelato. appetizer choices like tuna and avocado tartare, pot stickers, escargot and mussels never disappoint. the sauces are always interesting and flavorful. for innovative cuisine, consistently fresh quality food, great service and good value, there is no better choice. reservations are pretty much needed on the weekends, which speaks volumes in this economy.

zen forrest is a...get this..."zen-like" little eatery tucked away in a pasco county strip mall.  the walls are painted a soothing sage green, decor is minimalistic and tables are nicely spaced.  there are no dragons, gilt, kimonos or other traditionally asianrestaurantdecor and no piped-in music.  wall art is subdued and tasteful.  even when full of patrons, the vibe is soothing, conversing is easy and there's an air of intimacy.  not your stereotypical chinese restaurant, the menu is more "asian influenced" and also nods to the cuisine of japan, thailand, taiwan and vietnam. we received knowledgeable and courteous service from kassie, who was was pleasingly low-key and paced our meal nicely (our party of four spent a leisurely hour and forty-five minutes visiting and noshing without ever feeling either neglected or rushed). the crab rangoon was a real crowd-pleaser and definitely a cut above average.  for starters, it actually tasted like crab (not "krab") and had a garlicky kick t

best asian fusion. i have been eating regularly at zen forrest for almost 10 years now. it truly deserves a 100%. i have never been disappointed here.

the staff is so amazing, service is top notch every time. the atmosphere is so relaxing, laid back, with décor that say simply sophisticated.

everything is fresh fresh fresh. whether you order an old favorite like sesame or orange chicken, to the fried rice, steak, salads or fish. everything is full of flavor. flavors from all over asia, you can see where your favorite dish is authentically from. the knowledge of flavors and spices here always throw even me for a loop. with new specials and rotating seasons on the food, beers, wines and deserts you can truly have a new amazing experience each time you go.

zen forrest has a clear concept of healthy foods with oodles of flavor. re-training dead palates of america, this entirerestaurantclearly has a passion for food. until next time, live:love:eat

not only is this the bestrestaurantin new port richey, it rivals some of the best restaurants in tampa and st pete, as well. it is obvious by the flavors and presentation of the dishes, that the chef is passionate about food. complex flavors abound, and i've tried nearly everything on the menu, and several dishes off menu as well. my absolute favorites are the lamb, which can only be had on special. tender shank, amazing aromatics, kind of an asian / indian fusion. just go. try anything. i believe a pleasant surprise is in your future. and very affordable!

tasty dumplings!. another wonderful visit to zen forrest. it is simply the best food i have had in the new port richey area. as always, service was top notch, the food was tasty and portions large (i had to take some home). to review, for an appetizer, i had gradma's potstickers, pan seared. the dumplings themselves were very flavorful and the dipping sauce sublime. the shells were cooked just right and not overdone. this was followed by pork lo mein. i have had a very hard time finding good pork lo mein anywhere and i have been to a lot of sit down places. as usual, it was excellent and this is the only place i would recommend to have it. the sauce was so yummy--the pork was cooked to perfection and i love fresh bean sprouts--who doesn't? as always, i have a pot of the lychee tea. anyone who has had loose tea cannot abide a tea bag, and i love that thisrestaurantuses fresh, loose tea. finally, for desert--pistachio cheesecake. it was light and had an interesting flavor (in a good way). it wasn't too heavy the way cheesecakes can sometimes be, and was sufficiently creamy.

i have never had a bad experience here and having been to the finest restaurants in the northeast (new york city and philadelphia), i have to say, this is the closest i can find to compare.
