yum yum chicken & bbq korean cuisine

fantastic!  this chicken is 'last-meal' good!  crispy, hot, juicy, perfectly seasoned, it is everything that good fried chicken should be.  the 'yum-yum' is a nice flavourful sauce and the 'spicy' is not over the top with heat.  also, the fries are, just like the chicken, cooked to perfection.

3 stonegate drive nw (aidrie) i apologize for all the korean fried chicken posts i’ve been making so consecutively, it’s just so good! a few weekends ago, i was in calgary visiting some extended family. my aunt from vietnam was leaving to go back soon, so we just had a last small gathering. i’ve always been told that the food scene in calgary was much better than the one in edmonton, so i attempt to try at least one place whenever i visit. my cousins wanted to take me to a place that served korean fried chicken, cause they thought it was one of the better places that they’ve ever had it, yum yum chicken and bbq korean cuisine. this is a small chain that exists in calgary, with about 4-5 locations around calgary, with one being in airdrie, which my cousins claim to be the best location. venue the inside of it is much like coco’s deep fried chicken in edmonton. small, with little seating for dining in. i think most people always opt to do take out anyways. you can get burgers, fries, and some other fare here, but they are mostly known for their chicken, so that’s what we got. shallots chicken and yum yum chicken we got a family pack, because we had a lot of mouths to feed. we decided on the shallots chicken, and their signature yum yum sauce chicken. this came with some fries, but these seemed to be just store-bought crinkle cut fries, so i won’t write much about them. shallots chicken the shallots chicken comes with shredded green onions or shallots that are placed on top. the chicken was pretty tasty. it had a nice sweetness to it, and you could detect a hint of cinnamon which was a little bit different. the skin was very crispy, to the point that every bite was crunchy. nice and crisp. the pieces of chicken here were a lot smaller than the ones at it’ dog  and coco’s deep fried chicken though, in edmonton. yum yum chicken the other type of chicken we had was their signature yum yum chicken. it was pretty good. the sauce wasn’t too strong and rich, and did not overp

bbq beef and pork combos. we ordered a bbq grilled beef and a bbq grilled pork combos for dinner, just to try something new and what was our surprise: the food was wonderful, delightful, the chicken incredibly tender and tasty, the beef marvelous, everything was great, ahhhh, we do not have words to express, how much we enjoyed the food. we will order from yum yum again, that's for sure.

... got to the spicy fried chicken. despite its name, the fried chicken only had mild heat. i think they kept it minimal to appeal to their customer base. the chicken really shone through both in flavor and crispiness. this was my favorite flavor and pretty much the one i will order every time from here on out.

i was debating on how much to order for five people, because in the past, i've shared a whole chicken with a friend, and ate everything without any remains. as well, i knew some members in my family have a larger than your average appetite. when i called, i asked the young girl how many people three whole chickens could feed, and she replied "it depends on how much the person eats, but there are about 36 pieces for three whole chicken".... that's nearly 7 pieces per person! so i chickened out  and decided to go with two whole order, and was i glad i went with the two whole orders! we had leftovers enough to last for another full meal! half order of the shallot chicken half order of the spicy fried chicken  - spicier than it appears whole order of the yum yum chicken . i typically prefer "dry" fried chicken over saucy ones, but this one was pretty good. the sauce didn't take away the crispiness of the chicken and the amount of sauce was just the right amount (not drenched, but also not lacking).  the entire order came with four complimentary cup sized  pickled radish , which paired extremely well with the savoury chicken the approximate time that the chicken sat idle after being cooked was probably close to half an hour (after having arrived late for pick up and driving back home). by the time we got to eating the chicken, the temperature of the chicken was still warm enough that it didn't require reheating. we found a few dry pieces here a

awful. this place was awful. seriously, who is writing these reviews, the staff? you walk in and it immediately looks like a front for where crack cocaine is exchanged for money.

just awful, terrible food. nothing good to say about it. i don't even think what i ate could even be considered meat.

great experience!. heard of yum yum chicken from a coworker of mine and decided to try it! the staff on the phone was super friendly and helpful, the delivery was prompt and the food was fantastic!! i would highly recommend this place and their yum yum chicken.

"chicken good". tried yum yum in airdrie for the first time. ordered regular and saucy. it was pretty good, could have used a little more salt. was busy, but food came out quick.

excellant bbq, tender flavourful beef with amazing dumplings, moist crisp chicken packed with flavour.

hours changed. airdrie yum yum bbq is not open on mondays.

yum!. love it here. my fiance is a real kfc guy..he always wants to go there. i convinced him to try this place because it's close to our house and i dont think he'll ever be back to kfc! so good and so much flavor! it's definitely not healthy, but it doesn't taste as greasy as other fast food, fried chicken!

where's the meat ?. we were told how great the chicken was at this place so we order two and half chickens. we had the yum yum, spicy and the shallot; chicken bones with a little meat. the pieces were small since the most of the meat has been removed. we were mainly eating the batter and chewing on the bones. i will admit the coating was very tasty but it is pretty expensive batter. not worth the drive from calgary and we will be ordering from olive chicken now on.
