i'd rate this place above average. prep's mostly pretty good. taste'sgoodand price are just for the most part. i'd only say that i wished that their prep's always consistently good. which it isn't.

the decor and ambiance of the restaurant are what you would expect from a joint like this, but don't be fooled! delicious chicken, chicken sandwiches and fries! a little on the pricey side, but worth it in my opinion - agoodtreat once in a while!

i found yum chicken to actually serve the name of the restaurant properly. i went there with my second boy erigp last week. my boy had successfully passed his driver's test, so i decided to treat him with some poultry. i let him drive my van to the store, he only smash one car in the parking lot on the way there, verygoodfor a man of his age. when i first coming to canada i run into many car with my van, and i always have to run away fast as i can't afford insurance. this give me many experience to pass on to my son, it'sgoodthat he learns how to properly do it when i'm in his presence.

we enter the store and i order one half order of yum style yum chicken and one half order of hot yum style chicken for my boy. the lady at till was very bad at english, but i also bad at english sometime so i allow. i show her a small part of my rage when she not understand my order the first time she ask for it. i speak slowest as possible to allow my accent not to be cumbersome. she still present confusion and with this i decide to pull menu out of holder and point to what i want. this solve all problems and she take my money with a small bow and a large smile. i find bowing to be a foolish tradition as it allows your enemies an opportunity to attack you freely. my son laughs openly at this display.

our food comes promptly and with great smells and flavours of the koreas. i usually find korea food to be vile and offensive, so this is a pleasing event for me. i eat my first piece oh the hot flavour and i was immediately overtake with pleasure within my mouth. i sample the wing piece and i found the tip to be heavily deep fried and crunchy. i ate the piece whole, the bone was fried to perfection. it shattered completely and was easily digested. the larger bones we smuggled out of the store in our jackets in order to boil them the next day for a hearty broth, much to the looks of confusion of the till servant. i can tell she wanted them for herself, how foolish she must be to think we wouldn't be taking our bones. my son stuffed his pockets with the leftovers and we were on our way. the bones made an excellent broth for my wife and remaining kids as well.

will return in the future.

i recently received a massive 5 figure cheque from the government for $101.90. after receiving this money i knew i wanted to do something special for myself while remaining humble and not letting the money go to my head. i began my research on the internet. somewhere along the line of all inclusive trips, sons of anarchy blankets and lake front investment properties i ran into the menu for yum yum chicken. the thought of chicken and lakefront properties sparked a child hood memory flame in my mind, and as the fire began to grow, i knew i had to tend its clandestine fire. when i was a young lady i would spend the summers at my families lake house. every evening as the moon had its way with the sun, my family and i would dine on fried chicken and french fries. when i finished my meal i would dive into the lake to clean the grease from my young face and body. as i bashfully bathed blissfully in the evening light i would stare into the moon and ponder if i would ever have chicken asgoodas this, years have gone by and finally my questions were answered.

as you can guess i decided to go to yum yum chicken! now truth be told i have some reservations in regards to korean food since viet nam, but i so longed for that feeling of fried chicken that sparked my childhhod fire. i arrived around 6 pm (not am) lol and was greeted upon my arrival by a breath taking asian women who's brown eyes sparkled as bright as the ming dynasty. in broken english she inquired what i would have. i decided on the family sized bucket of challot chicken. after an inordinate amount of time my chicken arrived and i took my seat, i was ready to eat! as i took my first piece of chicken from the bucket my hands trembled slightly, but i gained my composure as i peeled back the skin like the pages of a hemingway novel. what i found inside was more awe inspiring than any thing hemingway wrote, pure brown glistening meat begging to be ravaged. i put the skin aside, and like a first kiss i hesitantly, yet fervently dove in for what i had yearned for, for so long. the meat was done to perfection and the taste could only be described as the feeling you get when you're hung over so you take 3 tylenol 3's, have 6 wine coolers and a 30 minute shower... i was in heaven! i continued to finish the bucket while putting the skin aside. i then covered the skin with a layer of salt and ate until only a pile of bones was left in front of me. my only complaint is their was no ranch for the chicken skin.

while i try to stay humble to my roots i cant help but to think the money i received has changed me. in many cases such a lump some of money would change a person  for the worst, i will however continually grow spiritually and culinarly with my blessing from the alberta government. therefore the money has changed me for the better. yum yum chicken helped me reconnect with my child hood, and if i ever decide to have kids i feel like its my spiritual duty in life to either conceive them here or give birth at this location in airdrie. thanks yum yum.

the food here is amazing! when you walk in, you can tell it is a small family owned business but don't let that deter you. the staff is really friendly and they usually have k-pop or j-pop playing on the tv, which i feel adds to the experience. the first time i was here, i had the bbq plate because it has a little bit of everything. i have tried both the pork and beef. they are both great. the pork is a little spicy and the beef is more savory but both are delicious. the chicken blew my mind. it is so crispy and flavorful! i have never had fried chicken thisgoodanywhere else. the platter also comes with the traditional sides of rice, kim chi and dumplings which are all very similar to other places i have had them. i like to get a little adventurous when it comes to poutine as well and the bbq poutine did not disappoint. again, i have tried it with both pork and beef and i alternate between the 2 depending on if i want a little spice (pork) or the savory beef. i found the portion sizes quite large as well. i've never been able to finish my entire order, but not for lack of trying. i'd definitely recommend this place to anyone.

fantastic!  this chicken is 'last-meal' good!  crispy, hot, juicy, perfectly seasoned, it is everything thatgoodfried chicken should be.  the 'yum-yum' is a nice flavourful sauce and the 'spicy' is not over the top with heat.  also, the fries are, just like the chicken, cooked to perfection.

awful. this place was awful. seriously, who is writing these reviews, the staff? you walk in and it immediately looks like a front for where crack cocaine is exchanged for money.

just awful, terrible food. nothinggoodto say about it. i don't even think what i ate could even be considered meat.

yum yum is right!. we have ordered delivery from yum yum twice in the last two months and have been very happy with the results - hot, quick, decently priced, yummy chicken! both times we have ordered 1/2 hot and 1/2 friend - both times they have been excellent and crispy... i think i have convinced my hubby to turn to yum yum rather than kfc for his fried chicken cravings.goodjob :)

from what i understand, korean-style fried chicken is double-battered, just the way i like it.  i wouldn’t call myself a fried chicken aficionado, but i certainly enjoy it, and would gladly throw out any diet or healthy eating plan out the window just to get my hands on the really, reallygoodstuff.  it’s another one of those indulgences that are worth every single mouthwatering calorie.  sometimes you just gotta throw all caution to the wind and go for it, which is what we decided to do one saturday afternoon. yum yum chicken & bbq korean cuisine is located in a strip mall up in airdrie, a city about 40km north of where i live, so it’s a bit of a distance to travel to get food.  i heard about this place from my colleague who used to frequent this joint back when she lived in airdrie.  she raved about it and i trust her

local fried chicken lovers rejoice!. look, i'm not going to act like i'm a food critic here. it would seem pointless to actually "hire a food critic" and rely on that to fix everything. plus, aren't we all just posting on urbanspoon? i mean, it's a public site for the public opinion and thus a service for readers to absorb the opinions of other posters, then form their own opinion.
all i know is that my love for fried chicken is enough to keep me going back to sub-par, greasy-soggy fried chicken products like kfc. on wings night at the bar, i will purely order salt and peppered style knowing that they will more than likely be like fried chicken. at pizza 73, i will order from them, but not because of their terrible pizza, but for their golden crispy wings! one time i was so desperate for a fix, i had safeway deli fried chicken, and i didn't complain! so judge me! call my standards low! do your worst! because if you don't understand this, then you don't have the same "love".

i'm calling out to all the real local fried chicken lovers out there and to you i want to say..... "brothers and sisters... we have some great fried chicken in airdrie!"
it's crispy, it's juicy, and it's got more variety than most fried chicken places.
regular crispy, spicy, yumyum, and shallot chicken. i've tried and love them all.

warning: you will smell like grease after agoodmeal here. anygoodfc lover will not have a problem with this but if you're a total girl or something then i might suggest changing into some dirty clothes before going.

ps: the poutine is definitely worth a try here.

so went to yum yym for first time based on the reviews at urban spoon. i ordered some tum yum and shallot chicken nit realy understanding what i was getting. once i got it and brought it home, i realized that it is a glorified kfc. it is fries chicken tossed in what ever sauce you choose. if you are a fan of fries chicken, its probablygoodbut as i dont eat kfc, i was not impressed. bottom line is, if you want fried chicken and are tired of kfc then give it a shot. if you dont like fried chicken, stay away.
