food is not the focus here. turkey rueben, sweet potatofrieswith honey mustard dressing... yum. but go midday saturday, when you have a lot of free time to wait for service, know what you want and order it all at once. you will eventually get you food but i'm pretty sure the waiter becomes an urban legend after that....

went for the first time today, and it was decent. kind of rude waitress but other than that, it was ok. cheesefrieswere amazing but didn't care for the cheese sticks. chicken salad was amazing but super pepper-y. the onion rings, according to my husband, were great.

when i'm in town, i always try to eat the fries. when they are on, they are on. the food is inconsistent. actually atefriesfrom 2 different batch - one seemed undercook and one over! good beer selection.

...a variety of food, including sandwiches. they also have vegetarian options. theirfriesare well known in more than just memphis. i love the chili cheesefriespersonally. i know that i'll be there soon for another happy hour...

great food. everyone who's been to young avenue knows that this isn't a place you go to for five star service. it's good food and a really awesome atmosphere in a really great part of town. i went on a monday night and actually got really decent service and was pleasantly surprised. i love the sonoma sandwich and the plethora of veg options makes this vegetarian very happy! i always get thefriesno matter what i get for my sandwich, they're delicious. i love their cups and our sweet waitress monday actually brought us to-go sweet teas instead of refilling the ones we already had, so i ended up with two cups from one trip. as a college student, i make good use out of plastic restaurant cups. overall, if you go to young avenue deli not expecting stellar service but expecting really great food, then you'll enjoy it!

had the vegetarian chili for the first time. it was outstanding. one of the best bowls of chili i've ever had.

first trying a burger and.... first time trying a burger andfrieshere and they were really great! thefriesare as good as everyone claims and the burger was big, juicy and the taste was pretty incredible. it's yet another reason to come back to this place!

bestfriesever. i went here earlier this evening (12/6/11). theirfriesare just super yummy. i have no idea what they do to them, but they're always tasty. don't even waste your time with the sweet potatofries(which i'm pretty sure they buy frozen). the regularfriesare so much better, and i think they're homemade.

place has a nice beer selection too, and there was a draft beer special tonight, which is always nice.

service is lacking. the sandwiches are decent, but i'm always a little disappointed. the cheeseburger is actually pretty good, and probably the best sandwich on the menu. thefriesare way overrated. i have to say the cheesesticks are homemade and excellent. i can't remember a time when i have been to young ave and had good service. the wait staff always seems like it has something better it could be doing. i guess the main reason i keep going back is because it is so close to home.

yum!. ate here for the first time last night and it was quite tasty. i had the sam i am pita, which consisted of turkey, gouda, bacon, and bbq sauce - very good. the sweet potatofriesthat accompanied it were very fresh and had a wonderful cinnamon flavor. several pints of imported beer didn't hurt as an additional side.

i go there all the time for a reason--it's great!. in case you need a bit more elaboration on my headline, here's why i like it:

great variety of beers, good beers. unusual menu items--all good. great, attentive staff. fair prices.

there is one problem that i always have there. sweet potatofriesor regular fries--always a hard decision. you order one, have a friend order the other, and share!

eat there, it's fantastic!

i can’t remember who named the young ave. deli’s frenchfriesas some of the best in the country, but they were totally right. thefriesat this cooper-young bar are almost perfect – crispy, but a little soft and seasoned with salt and pepper.

best specialty sandwiches - great selection of draft beer. beer battered artichoke hearts are to die for! i've burned the roof of my mouth numerous times because i couldn't wait long enough for them to cool a bit. they have a terrific selection of beers on tap, and the best specialty sandwiches anywhere! my favorites are the california pita, the hummus pita, the cosmic cucumber - and they'll modify any sandwich to your specs. thefriesand onion rings are some of the best anywhere. be warned - the service tends to be pretty slow...actually, it's probably the kitchen that is slow...but we were always willing to wait.
