my favorite lunch spot. their pimento cheese sandwich and a cold beer on the patio can't be beat. service can be a bit slow at times, but, hey, they always seem to be pretty busy and the servers are generally very friendly.

over rated deli. i came here for lunch with a buddy of mine one day. even though it was busy and it seemed like a nice place for a quick lunch, it was all but quick and convenient. after seating myself and waiting there for about 10 minutes, a waitress finally showed up and asked for our drinks. she was not our waitress but happened to notice us sitting there for quite a while. after we ordered food and drinks, the waitress gave us our check without even asking if it was going to be together or separate. side note: i don't mind these little things, but after the other things that were obviously piling high (poor customer service, lack of greeting, etc... period) i was over it at this point.
after she collected our method of payment she gave us someone else's card... it was pretty embarrassing not only for us but for her as well. these people do not know how to wait tables.

the food over all was ok, but i will never recommend anyone eating here. it will be my first and last time i will eat here.

a lukewarm "like". i will certainly go back to this place, but only for the sidewalk seating, for to sit indoors there would be unthinkable. (without earplugs, that is.) the food is ordinary, except for the excellent fries. there is a wide selection of beers.

the outdoor seating along young avenue is a great venue for people-watching and beer-drinking--if (as you might have figured by reading the other reviews) you can ever manage to get someone to wait on you.

i went to young avenue deli about two weeks ago, took a table outside with my friend, and sat there for more than fifteen minutes as we were passed over by waiters without ever being handed a menu or even being greeted. we left.

i'm sure i'll find myself there again, but my expectations for five-star service there are very low.

food is not the focus here. turkey rueben, sweet potato fries with honey mustard dressing... yum. but go midday saturday, when you have a lot of free time to wait for service, know what you want and order it all at once. you will eventually get you food but i'm pretty sure the waiter becomes an urban legend after that....

went for the first time today, and it was decent. kind of rude waitress but other than that, it was ok. cheese fries were amazing but didn't care for the cheese sticks. chicken salad was amazing but super pepper-y. the onion rings, according to my husband, were great.

when i'm in town, i always try to eat the fries. when they are on, they are on. the food is inconsistent. actually ate fries from 2 different batch - one seemed undercook and one over! good beer selection.

...a variety of food, including sandwiches. they also have vegetarian options. their fries are well known in more than just memphis. i love the chili cheese fries personally. i know that i'll be there soon for another happy hour...

very good food and atmosphere. sweet tea is amazing. vegetarian chili is tasty, it's my favorite. but it is a little spicy. mozzarella sticks are a must try!

this place was great! it was our first time and we came in after a concert so we sat down at around 11:30... we loved that there was a place in the neighborhood to go to late-night with more than just a bar food selection. we'll be back next time we're in town! service was on point. food was awesome!

the food was okay, but only okay. wings came out cold. salad was full of iceberg lettuce core. the main downer... the service was horrible. it was, seriously, the worst i have had in years. it took over an hour to be served a greek salad and chicken wings. it took over 30 minutes after ordering our beers to get them! i'll never go back.

yummy mozzarella sticks, unique and tasty curry turkey pita, turkey reuben, and the list goes on. hubby and i really enjoy eating here. as i have already mentioned, they have plenty of menu items that will keep anyone coming back to try something new. young avenue is for the tourist and local alike, and be sure to ask for jillian when you stop by, she is our favorite!

last night was my last night in memphis. have had many people tell me to try the deli, because it was great. we tried getting take out, but when we called a lady answered the phone "domino's pizza". i responded asking "is this the deli?" she responded yes, i said i wanted to place a to go order. she then responded... if you want a take out order your going to have to come get it then hung up on me. so then i husband attempted to call back...once again answered the phone domino's pizza. and then she repeatedly kept asking him why he was calling...even after he asked, as i did, is this the deli. then he was hung up on as well. not only was it rude but it was completely bad business. we were disappointed and not only that angry. no one should run a business like this or more so have someone like that working for them. after we got treated the way we did we will not be going back and will let everyone know that we can. it's to bad because we have nothing but good stuff about the food. just wish there employees were as great as it. bad business.

young avenue deli is a great spot down in cooper young to eat. they have very healthy options and it's in cooper young...what's not to like about this cool midtown area. if you are an appetizer person try the pimento cheese fries. they are really good. this was our first time here but i am already planning for another time to make it over here!

food is consistently average. service is consistently bad. if your going to hang out with the crowd then it is a great place. but if you want an above average deli then go elsewhere. there are better options a quarter mile north.
