i ordered delivery because i'm not from saskatoon and needed food! they charge $5 for delivery which is fair and has no minimum amount you need to spend to get your food delivered. they said it'd take around 45 min for the food but it only took 30 min. the food was pretty good. i don't recommend getting the beef brisket soup for anyone who isn't familiar withchinesefood. the seafood with veges was really yummy. there were lots of seafood (certainly more than what i was expecting)!

greatchinesefood.. i love this place. when you enter this place it takes the server to notice you and get you a seat in less than 2 mins. i have never stood for more than 2 mins.... i love their service & their food. dont expect a very upscale service this place runs on their food quality.. not a huge drinks menu. but you get cheap beer.
you will never be disappointed.
i have never tried their dimsum but i have only heard good things about it.

cheers

first time there this weekend. if you want authenticchinesethis is your place. never had hot n sour soup, wealthy man rice (i think), eggplant dish, crispy noodle dish and couple more plates but all were very different yet very good. mostchineseus canadians are used to does not compare to these palette dazzling foods. can't wait to go try creamy seafood and chicken feet. young nephews loved it too.

used to be a goodchineserestaurant. we werent very happy with the food when we had visited it a couple of months ago and had stopped visiting it. went in for dinner this week to see if things had changed, and it seems there have been no improvements, the chicken we had ordered was dry and salty, the quanitity of the other dishes was poor too, service was horrible, we had to wait 15 mins to get a glass of water or extra rice. i would say that the restaurant is going downhill in taste, quantity and service, will not visit it anytime soon, really disappointed

this is definitely the bestchinesefood in saskatoon. that being said, it is not life changing, and would probably rank as average in larger cities. i gave it a 4.0 because in saskatoon standards, it's a 4.5, but in other cities, it would be closer to a 3.5.

the food is very hong-kong style, and a little bit on the greasier side. the dim sum is pretty good, although when i first tried it 2 years ago i thought it was pretty bad. i'm not sure if my standards were higher (moving here from a much bigger city) or if they have improved over the years. one of my favourite parts of eating here is the chili oil.

i have never eaten in for lunch or dinner, but i have gotten take out and delivery many many times. the food (as long as it's not deep fried) keeps very well on the way home, and they are open to customization if you ask for it (less oil, no peas, no meat, etc.) the staff are very pleasant.

yip hongs is by far the bestchineserestaurant that puts the other ones to shame. their food is authentic. their waiters and waitresses all speak english some dialect of chinese. as achineseperson who was born in toronto, this is the best that you can get in saskatoon. very authentic...do you see how manychinesepeople are in there? do you see the lineups? just like back home! what are you waiting for!

normally i avoid going tochineserestaurants due to a few bad experiences in past.  a colleague that eats at a lot ofchineserestaurants recommended this one.

i ordered a chicken in black pepper sauce rice dish.  it was not bad. was a filling meal and very reasonably priced. may consider going there again if i drop by saskatoon.

disappointing and not as good as it's made out to be. just like another reviewer, i agree that yip hong's is just not the best in saskatoon. we went based on urbanspoon's rating, and were saddened to see our hard-earned money wasted. we have our favourites that we order whenever we are at anychineserestaurant in north america, and yip hong's just didn't cut it. we ordered take-out, and found that unlike another saskatoon restaurant, the portions we received didn't seem to be enough for 4 adults, the quality and freshness wasn't there and when we inquired as to what a specific food item was (we couldn't identify it), we were made to feel like "what do you mean you don't know what it is?". while this restaurant may be a favourite for some, it just isn't for us - and unfortunately, we'll never get our $50 back.

poor quality. if you are looking for a flavourfulchineserestaurant keep looking. the food lacks sauce and overall quality...

dim sum is my second favourite thing about sunday's next to my weekend sweat suits. i don't actually go every weekend, but i do a fair amount. if you have never been, it'schinesefood for breakfast and lunch. servers bring food around on carts and visit each table asking you what you would like and you are charged per dish. it's served at restaurants like yip hongs and mandarin, i recommend you try both to see what dishes and atmosphere you like more. it's a great thing to do with friends and family, it's one of those the more the merrier situations. inchineseculture, giving and sharing food is a way of showing love and the more people there are, the more dishes you have the chance to try. the other thing i would recommend to people who have never tried dim sum before is to try and arrive around 11 pm while the food is still hot, but you can still expect to wait for a table.
