i love this place for dim sum. carts are flying past every couple minutes and it is so hectic. just is such a fun place to eat and get some tasty portions in the morning/early afternoon with friends. deep fried pork dumplings are my guilty pleasure. thankfully the place is remaining open even with the new real estate developments in the lot.

yip hongs is by far the best chinese restaurant that puts the other ones to shame. their food is authentic. their waiters and waitresses all speak english some dialect of chinese. as a chinese person who was born in toronto, this is the best that you can get in saskatoon. very authentic...do you see how many chinese people are in there? do you see the lineups? just like back home! what are you waiting for!

i don't get how this joint has such a high rating. service is poor. decor is lacklustre. food is pretty terrible and you end up spending a lot.

is it so hard for the servers to at least say "hi" then smile at the customers? it was our second time to go there for weekend supper this year and both times were absolutely disappointing. the woman that seated us was just frowning and seemed like she hated the customers or maybe her job but we just ignored her because maybe she was having a bad day. as soon as we got seated she asked right away if we were ready to order yet! wth? i asked for a few minutes. she then left and came back with dirty-looking plates or maybe they were just very worn plates. fast forward to when we were eating. no glasses of water! we then asked for them but didn't get them right away. the servers didn't even ask how we were doing, not even once! no smile at all from any of them! so guess what? no tip from us either! will never go back!

if you don't know better you may never even notice this place. some fresh greens with garlic & straight up deadly dim sum...and you can get it at night! bonus 👍👍

normally i avoid going to chinese restaurants due to a few bad experiences in past.  a colleague that eats at a lot of chinese restaurants recommended this one.

i ordered a chicken in black pepper sauce rice dish.  it was not bad. was a filling meal and very reasonably priced. may consider going there again if i drop by saskatoon.

i always grab a bite here when i am craving dimsums. very good food and really economical. their sweet dimsums are absolutely worth a try. i would also recommend their beef with garlic and green onions. quick service too!

to add to the review, i ordered some hot and sour soup last night, which was great as usual. what was amazing was that the gentleman behind the counter kept the restaurant open beyond its closing time simple because i was 10 minutes late for my pickup. he phoned me and i told him how i was stuck in the lab and would be 10 mins late. he was kind enough to understand me and left the restaurant open beyond the closing time. i can't thank him enough for his kind gesture. yip hong serves great food and it's run by amazing people. i wish i could rate you more than 5!

one of the better places for dim sum. although i would say service is bad. needs some work to do. some dishes are too greasy for me but would go back.

the worst. i'm not one to complain about food or critique by writing a comment on a website good or bad. but tonight i ordered ginger beef, fresh rolls with shrimp, wonton soup, and spring rolls. when i got my food i opened the ginger beef to find battered deep fried beef with no sauce just completely bland. the wonton soup had not one vegetable or wonton in it it was just broth. and i didn't get my fresh rolls complete waste of money i am very unhappy that i actually paid money for it. will never go there again

on the fence. every thing is good exept they are always out of coconut buns!
ive visited about five times, asking for coconut buns, and all five times they were out. why keep it on the menu if you never have it?

very dissappointed.. the food to taste, was great. unforthnately everything else was bad. ordered over $70 of food, still was charged $6 for delivery. on our receipt, was all written in chinese. we estimated our bill should have been around $50... could not even read our bill to see what we were over charged with.
will not be ordering here again, sad to say.

ah, yum cha/dim sum. one of my favorite childhood memories and still one of my favorite things to do. yum cha focuses more on the tea aspect, more so focusing on having high tea while eating dim sum. they never asked what tea i wanted but i've heard from a large amount of people that i don't look chinese, and also lets not forget but we are in saskatoon. from the taste of it, i want to say the tea they offer to everyone is either teet goon yum  or  jasmine .
