if you haven't hadkoreanfried chicken before, this is a must try. i don't know what kinda sorcery it is that makes the chicken taste so good, but it's amazing. the extra spicy sauce is really spicy if you're a fan of heat, of which i am, and the other sauces are really good too. the fries are okay, but the chicken is definitely the spotlight of the meal. it is both crispy, saucy, and juicy on the inside.

after a long day of moving, we visited the takeout window at wow chicken located on 10th st in kensington. perfect for picnics/last minute group takeout, you can order by the half or whole chicken, with a range of sauces to choose from. this is not your traditional kfc (kentucky fried chicken) butkoreanfried chicken – known for it’s signature big and crunchy batter. needless to say it was a crowd pleaser.

went in on a saturday night at 10.11pm. we ordered our food and waited, i went to grab plates and cutlery and the server told me no, you can't stay to eat. i asked why they say they're open until 11pm if my husband and i can't stay to eat for 20 minutes. she told me it was because she had to clean the restaurant. at the same time, there were 3 other couples sitting in and eating their meals; one of which hadn't received their food yet. after she told us we can't stay to eat she brought the other couple their food, to stay. just the worst customer service ever. i should have cancelled my order and walked out.. the food was alright, but nothing special and i won't ever go back. if you're looking for deliciouskoreanchicken with great customer service as well, i highly recommend you head over to olive chicken!

this is my favorite place forkoreanfried chicken.  not only is the chicken really good, but the venue is very inviting and well decorated.  my only issue is the beer, 27 for a pitcher is pretty steep.

very authentickoreanfried chicken! even mykoreanfriend agreed so. if you're dining alone, i highly recommend the combo meals ($8.99 from 10 am - 5pm) that comes with the meat of your choice, fries and pop! their chicken was fresh (never use frozen meat), juicy and ultra crisp. once you've tried them, you will never go back to american fried chicken!

wow! is all i can say. this is the best *bad-for-you-but-i-don't-care* fried chicken restaurant i've ever been to. so far, on different visits, i've had the wings, the breast and the chicken fingers ... and all have been out of this world. the batter is highly unusual, and awesome. it's very crunchy, very tasty and not at all greasy (as you would expect from fried chicken). and it's real chicken! it's not some formed chicken meal; it's the real awesome thing. and the fries! i love the bulgoki fries. best i've ever had. and portions are surprisingly large. thiskoreanalternative wins the day over anything else i've ever tasted. ever.the décor is also quite nice. it's not the usual sterile environment you find in other fast-food places. this place is meant to enjoy. the design is nice, it's clean, it's colorful, music is great, service is excellent (they'll bring it to your table), and everything is served up just perfect. couldn't be a better addition to kensington.i have to resist going here too often, 'cuz it's just that good!

i gotta saykoreanfried chicken is wayy better than kentucky fried chicken lol
i have tried yum yum chicken and wow. i recently went to wow chicken and the place is alot different than yum yum. i went the yum yum in airdrie which is more simple and fast food style. wow chicken was very modern inside with tv playingkoreanmusic. both times we had to wait for a spot but it wasn't long.
we ordered 3 different flavours of chicken and tried the wing, breast and thigh.
really tasty. i enjoyed the chicken alot, but got full pretty fast.
will come back here when i crave fried chicken.

looking for something different yet the same to nom on this blistering hot summer day. i've been trying to go to wow chicken for a while now.

i got me a lunch special; this consisted of 5pc wings with fries and a pop ($8.99). i opted to "upgrade" my fries to seasoned fries, i went for the bulgogi ($0.5) flavour. service was quick as i was the only person there at the time, the restaurant was very clean and modern looking. totally in love with their wow chicken logo on... everything. to me... its always the small details that count, and that'll always bring be back. i did find it a bit awkward to be sitting in the corner waiting for my food when there were so many empty seats around; i was happy enough watching thekoreanmvs playing on the television there as a distraction though.

the food was steaming hot when i got in my car. the chicken was crispy and tender with every bite i could get down without burning myself. the coating of the chicken was very crunchy, but there was little to no seasoning to the chicken at all; quite bland. i think it would've tasted much better if it had sauce. loved the bulgogi flavor on the fries, it was sweet and was a great change from "unseasoned" fries".

would come back on a regular basis if could find better free parking in the area...

definitely the best place forkoreanfried chicken in calgary. it's atmosphere is warm and cute, they have a big t.v and play kpop which adds to its authentickoreanambience. their chicken is the crispiest, and least greasiest chicken you can find at the same time. the price is reasonable and the service was fairly good. this place is a great idea for hanging out with a few friends for beer + chicken,  or just going on dates.

i'd previously been skeptical about the raving reviews aboutkoreanfried chicken (how good can fried chicken possibly be, right?), so i was very pleasantly surprised with good batter and delicious, tender meat.

wow chicken has a nice atmosphere (they play kpop on a large screen in-store, haha) with ambient lighting and comfortable seating. the prices are decent, and the food is well seasoned, with lots of seasoning varieties to try. on top of having good quantity, the size of each piece of chicken was actually quite a bit larger than i'd expected, which is a definite plus.

this is my favourite place to eat in large groups with, as we order a lot of chicken, but the bill divides into a very reasonable ($10~20) price.
