worth it. ok, so wild ginger is expensive...like in the neighborhood of $60 to $90 for drinks(alcoholic), appetizers, and two sushi rolls. if you can't stomach that, then you probably should go somewhere else. once you've made peace with that amount of cash leaving your wallet, here's the scoop in a nutshell: the sushi is a-mazing, the waiters are nice and attentive, and should you be lucky enough to go on a night when the jazz band is playing...um, yes my friends, heaven.
the hubby and i have tried (almost) every sushirestaurantin nashville and hands down have not had such tantalizing flavor combinations hit our palates in one sitting. we started with the kobe beef appetizer which was crazy expensive for an app ($35) but the hubby had never had the pleasure of being served a hot lava rock on which he could cook his own tender bite-size morsels of kobe beef tableside. it's quite the experience and created a thick layer of smoke that most assuredly annoys those around you... but what the heck, you're the one enjoying it right? after those shenanigans, we split the sunrise roll and the m2 roll. the sunrise roll is full of delicious crunchy shrimp and topped off with the most tender and fresh tasting salmon i've ever had. adding to the visual appeal, were slivers of bright orange mango and creamy green avocado peeking out of from underneath the salmon. it was all topped off with a delicate drizzle of sweet honey sauce and a beautiful mosaic of specialty house sauces bordering the outside of the plate. the m2 roll was about two notches below the sunrise roll but again, far better than we've had elsewhere.
so put your hands up in the air and wave them like you just don't care, and go have some amazing sushi!
