whiskey cake

customer opinion. i took my family to whiskey cake earlier today for mother's day and spent twice what i intended.
this action was a direct reflection of an outstanding young man, mr. ross bishop, who was our
waiter. his suggestions andservicewere excellent.

as a result, we will be returning and hope the next time we visit whiskey cake mr. bishop will have
been promoted to manager.

tough call. we like it.... but...

food is good, portions are a little small,serviceis kind of bad, and beer is okay.... but, we like it.

part of the twin peaks franchise with plans to open in ok city and las vegas.
20 minute wait was actually an hour and 20. ( on a wed eve at 7:30). bar overcharged for drinks which diligent waiter corrected. goodserviceonce seated. food was fine ( as in, ehh...); whiskey cake was great. would give a second chance.

we had lunch on a busy sunday and theservicewas awesome! jason made sure our glasses stayed full, the food was out incredibly quickly, and he packed up what we couldn't finish. he also was very familiar with the menu and made fantastic recommendations.

my only disappointment, the peach bourbon drink was discontinued...so i just had tea, which was freshly brewed and cold.

as for the food, the omg burger (onions, mushrooms, and goodness) totally earns its name! mine was a perfect medium rare. we also had the hummus dip trio, which was incredibly fresh and delicious. my husband had the brunch pancakes, fluffy and warm - the homemade whipped cream is incredible!!!!

good food!!!!. i found the fried green tomatoes to be pretty good. they really came out hot. my daughter had a house salad and the mussels. the mussels came in a bowl in a kind of soup. she said they were very good. mixed drinks were pretty pricey. i have heard they have the coldest beer in town, but i did not try it. while the food was very good, there are other restaurants i prefer. we did have the whiskey cake for dessert and it was also very good. i would go back here. also, we sat at the bar and theservicewas excellent.

grilled pork was great. whiskey cake was awesome.servicewasn't bad. 11/2 hr wait not so good. hostess staff was rude and inconsiderate. wife was on crutches and they failed to offer even a chair to sit on for 1hr and 25 min in.

great design!. congrats for the designer! menu was good,servicetoo, was sunday brunch time and was busy, waiting time was pretty desappointing, although while waiting 40-45 min., we noticed at least 4-5 empty tables..., but the small things as nappkins, rings, plates, curtains, colors, firepit, and lights, o gosh, all lights were so creative and so texas! we will come again!

great place. theservicewas outstanding, the wait staff very personable. the omg burger was fantastic - could have done with less grease. but with less grease would it lead to less taste?

what i want more of is the onion ring that's on the omg burger - it was the best tasting onion ring i've ever had. crunchy and the onion was not soggy like most onion rings.

the atmosphere is wonderful.. and will definitely be visiting here.

best restaurant in plano? close.. i love beer and really good food. my wife and i both share these passions and we're not afraid to spend a little extra money to further our culinary interests. we've eaten at a lot of great places both in and out of texas, and without a doubt whiskey cake is the reason we'll come to plano on a date night. theserviceis ok - it's never been bad. but the food and drinks are what you're there for, and they're incredible.

i was shocked to see so many negative reviews, so i've decided to make a shortlist of reasons why one might not like whiskey cake:

1. you're cheap. i mean, the place is obviously nice and geared toward the slightly upscale sort of people who appreciate industrial design and angles, and faux-antique pieces. these people don't have a problem with a $15 entree. the place is worth it in vibe alone.

2. small portion sizes. ok, really? and just how much, might i ask, do you weigh? perhaps a visit to the cardiologist is in order.

3. bland food. i can only assume the food is bland to those only willing to order bland items, like mac & cheese, and even a lot of those people say that meal is good! the farm bird, fish entrees, and basically everything i've tried there have been outstanding and a total taste-bud adventure. if your palette gets freaked out at the sight of any remotely non-traditional items on the menu, blame yourself.

4. the bar. ok, nobody cites this as a negative but i'd just like to make the point again that it's great!

honestly, even my parents like this place. haters - stop with the negativity - and head to the cracker barrel.

whiskey cake disappointment. i have been hearing about wc for some time now so we decided to give it a try...what a disappointment. they quoted a 30-35 min wait so we went to the bar for a cocktail. the barservicewas great but within 10 min we were paged to be seated. this was great news but the hostess copped a bit of an attitude when she had to wait while we asked the bar waiter for our ticket. she the proceeded to pass several open tables in order to seat our party just outside ( it felt like inside) the kitchen. i asked if we could be seated in a table away from the kitchen door & again attitude. once we were finally seated we ordered but our waiter failed to submit the order, the manager brought out an appetizer at no charge. the food arrived & was okay but did not live up to the hype. more problems with desert, slowserviceand not attentive.

would not recommend for anything outside of the bar.

the bar is phenomenal, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. theservicehas always been great. the menu has a good selection for dinner but a wonderful selection for lunch. the pulled pork sliders and burgers are well crafted. i think the dinner entrees are less popular as this is not a bob's steak and chop house but more of a family social upscale laid back intimate feel. this place has many options, menu and seating. i like it!

yum!. we had heard good things about whiskey cake and finally had a chance to go try it. very happy we did. four of us, and it was all good. chicken and spinach, mac & cheese .. but my oldest son had the hippy stack ... wow! i'll order that next time. fantasticservice(amy was our server and we loved her), great atmosphere, great food. can't wait to go back.

visited tonight with the family. overall opinion was a no repeat. however, we have some picky eaters. fried green tomato appetizer with remoulaude sauce was delicious. meal went downhill from there. i had the chicken and spinach salad. the cheese, fruit, and dressing combo didn't work for me. the rest of us had burgers. the consesus was the brisket flavor was strange in the burgers. we did not have dessert. atmosphere was great and fun!servicewas exellent. special bonus surprise! jake guyllenhal look alike waits tables here. free photo opp.

pleasantly surprised.servicewas great and very attentive. we were sitting on the patio and a cold front blew in and they were able to move us indoors quickly on a packed saturday night after being told it would be about 45 minutes. there were 10 at our table and the food came out all together and no one's drinks ever went empty. the menu is limited but everything we ordered was good and everyone loved their food. i had the omg burger and it was excellent - cooked mw as ordered, juicy, with lots of flavor. great place for burgers and sandwiches, casual and hanging out. will visit again.
