great tastes in the scrambled eggs with yoghurt & fennel. i added some haloumi & avocado but the contrasts of the dish were nice and different, felt the fennel could've been caramelised but wasn't overpowering fresh like it was so still good, yoghurt was strong though, mayb just to much for my liking.
staff were nice
coffee awesome!
sweets good.
pleasant area & nice place to think.

had lunch here today, seeing most patrons outside enjoying the sun and plenty of seating available inside. love the location, it's away from all the hustle and bustle of marrickville.

the menu is made up of healthy, fresh options which the boyfriend wasn't really a fan of but was willing to try. no deep fried fast food here! :p we ordered the roast chicken salad and the chicken sandwich.

serving sizes are generous, and food is presented well. my salad was delicious. roast chicken was moist and flavourful, charred corn was sweet and greens were top quality. the bf loved his sandwich served on a soft, spongy miche bread.

service was great, and our food came out super quick. prices are ok compared to other cafes in the area. i also had a coffee which wasn't bad. i'd definitely return and maybe try one of their pastries (on a weekday).

west juliett is a nice, busy cafe and is one of the best cafes i've been to. the twelve hour pork salad is amazing ($16.9), as well as their french toast ($15.9) and roast chicken salad ($16.9). will definitely be coming back soon!

if you have a furry friend. this is the place to be. next to a dog park, outdoor dining. and most importantly...

top notch service and food.

rustic feel, its got a lot of character and the locals want to keep it to themselves i bet! the servings are massive, high quality and consistent. the coffee is allpresso and i have to say, not a big fan of their roast. but that said... their mixed non alcoholic juice drinks are something special!

i love their sweet potato chips and their good old roast chicken it is superbly done.

highly recommended for your weekend stroll to.

once upon a time this was a pumping hipster cafe with cool staff, nice vibes and fresh, delicious food. now, it is a shell of its former self with couldn't-care-less staff, wonky tables and sub-par food that you would find in some diner in some backwater rural town.

this place really is not worth going to any more. the new owners (who took it over at the beginning of the year clearly are not foodies or have run a cafe before. they don't know, the wait staff don't care and the chefs could't care less.

small overcooked serves, warm white wine and a crappy coffee.

customers have turned. today there was a handful of people and except for the weekend this place is 1/4 full instead of pumping.

elvis has left the building and it's a damn shame.

west juliett, located just off leafy enmore park is a strong contender for one of the best cafes in not only marrickville but also sydney. west juliett focuses on fresh, quality ingredients and bake many of their pastries on site. the chicken salad is a personal favourite and pulled pork salad is also particularly delicious.

in terms of drinks offerings, there are home made sodas and freshly pressed juices. the coffee providers are allpress, which means you get a good cup of joe.

the venue itself is large, bright and spacious with indoor and outdoor seating available. but get in early, this place gets busy. the good news is though, after popular demand, west juliett is now open on a sunday.

steve hurwitz and i had brunch here with a couple of friends. the staff was extremly nice and helpful, even though the place was incredibly busy. the food was good, a lot of veggies and some trandy names for cheese and other regular things (which can be annoying, as i don't like having to google everything before i decide what i want).

a bit of a hit and miss depending on what you order. we ordered a breakfast plate with avacado, ham, toast, ricotta and poached egg. it was exactly what it promised to be, nothing too fancy or out of the ordinary. also ordered the roast chicken with charred corn, raddichio, snow peas etc with fries and pwach early grey house made soda. of which were amazing! chicken was moist and tender. corn was sweet and juicy. snow peas were crispy and fresh. fries were beyond delicious. hand cut, freshly fried, crispy not oily, smooth and creamy. soda was refreshing and liked the fact they served it in the bottle without ice so it will not be diluted. the only downside of it was that we sat next to a girl who didn't like the smell of our dog. everyone else seemed dog friendly though. plenty of dog water bowls however was a bit disappointed when i saw the waitress tip left over water from the customer's cups into the bowl. dogs deserve clean fresh water. but overall was happy with my experience.

lengthy queues and noise mean i have only done takeaway here. nice coffee and pumpkin bread were not enough to explain why wj is so wildly popular. on the list for further investigation...

the food was good, nothing extra special or extradinary, which i was honestly expecting since people do rave about this cafe. ordered the scrambled eggs with salmon, it was served on one slice of toast with some yoghurt and sorrel. really not worth the price at all; nothing about the meal was like i said extra special. it tasted nice, the eggs were cooked well and all.
i did like how they made their own sodas, ordered the earl grey soda, it was okay. a bit too sweet and unfortunately didn't stay fizzy very long.
the service was good, friendly staff who were attentive and over all lovely.
also there's plenty of seating space and they now open on sundays.

was really excited to try west juliett. been seeing the photos from ig and wanted to get the pink salt cookie (which i did, and it was good).

large, generous portions (given the price) and overall quite good. i got the mushrooms and my partner got the breakfast plate. both were ok, but not as outstanding as i wanted it to be. the chips were also a bit soggy and not crispy so wouldn't order those again. the juices were very small and did not have much taste (i had the watermelon one) so that was disappointing also.

as it's not too close to home, not sure if i would come here again on purpose, i guess i'll have to see!

can a kitchen in marrickville survive selling $8 beef noodle soup? doubt it and so do the new owners of west juliette after a hefty $2m outlay (unconfirmed). the strategy to cost recovery is $20 ‘premiumisation‘ diy staples. the food is tasty and i depart full – therefore, i support the cause.

a delightful find! lots of tables both inside and outside, all with plenty of breathing space. the service was excellent; in particular the continuous water top-up was appreciated. the food was fresh, vibrant and beautifully presented. i ordered the poached eggs with avocado, feta and dukkah, which was all i had hoped for and a large serving size. my friend had the cured salmon with poached eggs and was equally as delighted. i took home one of the famous pink salt chocolate chip cookies and it did not disappoint, being the perfect balance of sweet, salty, crunchy, chewy, chocolatey. a star was lost for the slightly underwhelming long black coffees - they didn't really meet the standard of their sydney competitors. but, nonetheless we will be back!
